storrence ☯ Barton and I helped with a sheep shearing session yesterday. The ewes were so sweet and patient! Amazing how quick it all went too. Major respect for the farmers and animals who make our warm clothes possible. 1w

storrence ☯ Rather dreary day here in Wales, but Barton is keeping a faithful eye on the flock. 2w

storrence ☯ My home for the next month – Blaennant Farm in Central Wales. Visiting family friends here and reviewing my permaculture skills. The farm covers 200 acres, including a 300' deep valley nestled between a wishbone-shaped set of ridges. I've found the ruins of a Roman signal post, oak trees older than the United States, and at least seven varieties of wild mushrooms. The sheep here still give me suspicious looks, but they're warming up to my Texan charm. Looking forward to exploring local permaculture projects and getting to better know the ecosystem here over the coming weeks. Feeling blessed beyond words, y'all. 3w

storrence ☯ Enjoyed a beautiful sunset beach walk at Findhorn this evening, writing down some thoughts and reflecting on my time here. There behind me are the three wind turbines that power the whole ecovillage. Despite eco-shortcomings on other dimensions, Findhorn definitely has energy covered. Advantages of being on the breezy coast of northern Scotland, I suppose. 4w

storrence ☯ After five incredible weeks here at Findhorn, Barton and I will be moving on. We'll miss the beautiful beach, the random rainshowers, the delicious dinners, the wonderful weeding, the warm people, and everything else there will never be enough words to express gratitude for. Love and Blessings, Findhorn! We'll carry your Light in our hearts throughout the whole World. ^_^ 4w

storrence ☯ Did you know armadillos can climb trees? Me neither! Barton got really into our volunteering for Scotland's Trees For Life project, committed to restoring the Caledonian Forest over the next 250 years. They've planted over 1.2 million trees to date, and are just beginning. Reforestation is arguably the most effective human response to climate change —forests heal local habitats, sequester carbon, build soil, reverse desertification, and so much more. Barton and I transplanted baby Birch and Aspen sprouts, weeded young Willows, and enjoyed a crisp sunny day on Trees For Life's nursery estate in the hills near Loch Ness. Please support these folks if you've got a few quid to spare, and plant a tree where you live if you get the chance. It feels wonderful and makes a huge difference for the world. ^_^ 1mon

storrence ☯ Before coming to #Findhorn, the term "weeding" for me conjured thoughts of back aches and tedium. Volunteering in the garden here has completely transformed that. Those we call weeds are so precious. They grow to serve elsewhere, as compost for others, and just need our help getting there. Weeding to me now feels much more like harvesting. I've taken to lovingly thanking every plant I coax from the soil, for playing a part in a grander story and bringing light into my life. Weeding is love in action, y'all ^_^ 1mon

storrence ☯ Barton and I are absolutely exhausted, but recovering nicely from last week's phenomenal GEN conference. So many new friends, so much love, so many exciting roads open. Now we're simply following our hearts and listening to the whisper of the future. The #BartonJourney continues... 1mon

storrence ☯ Wow... Another immensely transformational week. Barton and I brought soil and water from #BartonSprings in #Austin here to the #GEN20 Summit at #Findhorn, which we combined with those of attendees from over 40 countries. Our offering will go to a ritual supporting relief efforts in Japan. The week has been full with such connections to the world, to each other, and to our future. On this final day of the conference, I'm feeling exhausted and inspired beyond words. The people of this global ecovillage movement have such beautiful hearts and minds. We have come so far, and yet we have only just begun living this New Story. I come away from here with so many new friends, next step ideas, and challenging questions. Now listening deeply to where I'm drawn from here. So grateful to have y'all along for the ride. The #BartonJourney continues... 2mon
