storrence Flavors of this week for me and Barton? Systems, transit, fixing, and designing. Also lots and lots of tea. And NO SNOW in the middle of winter... in Canada. These are strange and wonderful times indeed... 6d

storrence During our first week with the team here in Toronto, Barton and I have seen the first Permaculture Principle – "Observe & Interact" – in action daily. We're slowing down, standing back, and deeply taking in the landscape of tools, rhythms, and challenges before us. As a transforming "technomancer", these are important, somewhat new patterns for me to inhabit; being slow and steady, withholding action until the right time rather than jumping to a solution. Looking forward to what emerges over these dozen weeks... 3w

storrence Barton is seeing snow for the first time! We arrived in Toronto this week, beginning a Winter-long internship of sorts with permaculture teacher Jillian Hovey. Already enjoying the weather contrast immensely, and very excited to do some intense learning while exploring the city's culture over the next few months. 4w

storrence ¡Hola! Barton and I have been back in España this week, traveling with a group of folks looking for land to start an ecovillage in Andalucia. We've seen hillside avocado plantations (trees like this!), the Sunseed project, a local organic CSA coop, and much more. Last night we made wood fired pizza and drank local wine from the valley village of Jete. Mediterranean views, mountainside drives, and midnight hot springs? We could get used to this, y'all. But first, Canada... 1mon

storrence Before taking a day of rest in the Holy Land, Barton and I visited the Western Wall in the Old City. Layered, complex, and still evolving, the Wall well reflects the feelings arising for us here. We're looking forward to visiting ecological and historical destinations over the next few weeks, staying with friends and family, exploring and appreciating this region of Edge. 2mon

storrence At Damanhur, Barton and I went on a walking meditation today through one of the woodland Circuiti, colorful circuits of stones intentionally placed to aid reflection on different aspects of consciousness. Our time in Damanhur wraps up next week. We're deeply grateful to this place and her people for welcoming us. Just like the Circuiti, we have a feeling our road ahead will circle back here someday. Grazie, y'all! 2mon

storrence Con Voy! Barton and I arrived this week at Damanhur, a federation of eco-communities in northern Italy. We visited their Temples of Humanity yesterday, celebrated the full moon, and have been working in exchange for room and delicious Italian board in a hilltop house with lovely folks. Tutto bene! 3mon

storrence ☯ Barton and I learned a bit of sewing today, de-branding my gear and affixing this awesome patch. The Earth Repair Corps practices #Permaculture in Austin, and founder Kirby Fry is a huge inspiration to me. I'm proud to rep this group as a novice "permie" and hope to join their amazing work upon returning to Austin. Check them out at www.earthrepaircorps.com 4mon

storrence ☯ This week Barton and I are visiting Tamera, an inspiring ecovillage in rural Portugal. We've learned about their incredible water retention landscapes, solar technology, and community building tools, all while enjoying the warm sun, delicious food, and surprisingly awesome compost toilets. The people of Tamera are sincerely embodying an extraordinary new model for human life, connecting each other and the World through peaceful, loving practices. We'll have to come back sometime for a longer stay. The Journey goes ever onward... 4mon
