stephlawscabinetofcuriosities Home sweet home! The last day on the train had us arrive in Toronto at 2:45pm instead of 9:30ish in the morning - but we didn't care! We were so relaxed. The Royal York was a fabulous treat and it was great to get back into the groove of things having drinks at Thoroughbred. But now we're home, and it feels good to be back. Our apartment feels super big having lived out of three suitcases for almost a month. It was an amazing honeymoon and we're changed people because of it but damn #Toronto, it's good to be on home soil! 4d

stephlawscabinetofcuriosities The Royal York has many historical photographs in their lobby. @crazyrew decided to reenact their stoic expressions in our suite. 4d

stephlawscabinetofcuriosities This was the extent to my experience in Winnipeg... You were a balmy 3*C, have delicious burger joints willing to stay open just for us, and most importantly have @dkhnlee in your city! It was a grand twenty minute reunion, so glad we got to see you, so sorry it also involved a really long wait! Until next time... 7d

stephlawscabinetofcuriosities So close, Winnipeg! We are four hours delayed, IN the station... There was a derailment a few days ago causing a horrible ripple effect to all the trains using the rails in this area - and we are last priority. @dkhnlee we are sooooo sorry this is taking so long!! 7d

stephlawscabinetofcuriosities We made it! Edmonton, we arrived here too late and we didn't even have enough time to hop off to visit you. Although, we did get to see a sad, wet snowman and the luggage from arrivals being pulled by a tiny snowplowing tractor. Edmonton, you were perfect. 1w

stephlawscabinetofcuriosities Stuck just outside of Edmonton for the last half hour or so... VIA Rail rents the use of CP/CN lines, so we are second to the engines pulling freight. So we got resourceful - Cheers! 1w
  •   poppaneedsanap Amazing! Have fun in Jasper you guys!! If you get nostalgic for Hawaii you can always come back and stay at the tropical room at Fantasyland hotel in the mall! It's basically the same thing 1w
  •   stephlawscabinetofcuriosities @poppaneedsanap great tip! We just might! 1w

stephlawscabinetofcuriosities My Great Grandfather, Harold Reginald Billinghurst, was a CPR employee starting in the mid 20s. He was a waiter in the first class dining car, donning a tuxedo and white gloves each day, travelling back and forth from BC to Montreal. As @crazyrew and I head to our dining car for each meal, it makes me glow inside to know that he gazed upon these very same mountains, prairies and forests. 1w
