spraggii Another shot from my Nullarbor files, this Brown falcon was deciding if I was worth escaping from! They were the most common species of raptor out on the plain. It's seemed like the endless spinifex and blue-bush plains suited them perfectly. This shot was taken just over the border in SA near Koonalda Cave 14h

spraggii Hi guys, after a little break from Insta I'm back! Just one look at everyone's fantastic pictures just made me want to post my own. Here is a newly gazetted species of Australian parrot from my recent trip out on the Nullarbor, the Naretha Bluebonnet!. This beautiful male is native to a small area in south-eastern Western Australia. 2d

spraggii Chestnut-breasted Mannekins! Taken about 5mins away from my house at the local lake. There is a small introduced population of these finches occurring at a few lakes on Perth's coastal plain. Thankfully not causing any damage or growing out of control like so many others. #chestnutbreastedmannekins #birdfreaks 9mon

spraggii Painted Button-quail seen at Bold Park today. Button-quails are know for their interesting feeding habits where they spin alternatively on either leg and using the other to scrap away leaf litter. This creates a very distinctive circular depression where they look for food! #paintedbuttonquail 9mon

spraggii Gotcha! This white-winged fairywren was very obliging to have its photograph taken today after work. Needless to say I can't wipe the smile off my face. Perth is very lucky to have four different fairy-wren species in the metro area including another an hour out of town! #whitewingedfairywren #perth 10mon
