spraggii The greatest redeemer of terrible weather is all the seabirds that get blown into shore. This Wilsons Storm-petrel was seen just off Fremantle North Mole and was certainly a challenge to photograph 2w

spraggii Shining Bronze-cuckoo, Star Swamp. Starting to see these guys head back down south from their wintering grounds in Indonesia. This one was already in courtship mode displaying to its mate higher in the tree. Pity the light was so poor would've had a bucketload of better shots! 4w

spraggii Brown-headed Honeyeater, Wongan Hills. Was sitting behind a bush eating lunch and this guy just sang his heart out on a nearby tree! That's after many attempts to photograph it earlier haha 4w

spraggii White-browed Scrubwren Lane Poole Reserve, Dwellingup. Going though some old footage lately as the weather hasn't been very cooperative. I think you might remember this one @kaarissah :P 4w

spraggii Bird number 316, Southern Scrub-robin! Glad to finally get a lifer after a few cancelled trips in the last few weeks. Taken at Wongan Hills reserve a couple of days ago :D 1mon
  •   spraggii Much appreciated @selby_wa ! 1mon
  •   spraggii @bazzabaker thanks, I heard they were up that way. This one was quite curious when I sat still and made whacky bird noises haha 1mon
  •   bazzabaker I was able to call the bird in but the light was bad i.e. it was midday, and the bird just didn't come close enough to take a really good shot. I was disappointed. 1mon
  •   spraggii Ahh damn @bazzabaker ! Least you'll know where to find them next time :) 1mon
  •   bazzabaker Yes that's right. Helpful also to know that distinctive call. 1mon
  •   spraggii Yeah it's very distinctive @bazzabaker . After hearing it the one day I don't think I could ever forget it. 1mon
  •   finn_rm Ahh. Im using a Nikon d3200 and an manual focus 70-300. 😐 1mon
  •   anewell1826 Excellent find! Always exciting to see new birds x 3w

spraggii Had an amazing experience today while walking around Wongan Hills Nature Reserve. This Wedge-tail Eagle and mate spent a good 10mins flying near eye level with me while I was walking along an escarpment. They seemed so curious and friendly, so unlike most others I've seen. Sadly the sun was high in the sky so hard to get any decent shots for this experience but sometimes memories are all you need :) 1mon
  •   _eco_ash That's a pretty decent shot mate. You have very high standards! 1mon
  •   spraggii It was so cool @cmgaughwin thank you 1mon
  •   spraggii Thanks @_eco_ash ! I get critical of my photos when I look at them too much haha. Had to edit the underside a little bit so it wasn't black 1mon
  •   formerlagirl I came across quite a few Wedge-tail Eagles in the last week or so but they were all so hard to photograph. Saw 5 of these feasting on a dead kangaroo. Came back the same route two days later and there were hardly anything left of the roo. 1mon
  •   spraggii I'm usually in the same boat @formerlagirl . They can spot me a mile away haha. Seeing them up close was amazing, such graceful fliers! 1mon
  •   terrythebird Really good capture! 1mon
  •   sandra_celebrate Great shot...lots of lovely detail 1mon
  •   anewell1826 Amazing 3w

spraggii White-browed Babbler, Rawlinna. I was fairly certain this family group had never seen a human before. They were so friendly and curious (aside from their slightly grumpy look) compared to their usual flighty nature. 1mon
