soulcatcherstudio Here is one of my favorite quotes from one of my all-time favorite photographers, Ruth Bernhard. Ruth wrote this on the occasion of her 90th birthday and she truly lived these words every day. Incidentally, she lived to be 101 years old. It was my great pleasure to know her and represent her glorious photographic works through Soulcatcher Studio. 4d

soulcatcherstudio I wonder what @thomasmlauderdale would do with my son's elementary school's piano? What do you think @toureatdrink and @stormof69?
He'd probably even make these tired, old ivorys sing!

soulcatcherstudio The Drepung Loseling monks from India and their Mystical Arts of Tibet tours promote world peace and healing through their rich, authentic, sacred performing and visual arts. From all the artistic traditions of Tantric Buddhism, that of painting with colored sand ranks as one of the most unique and exquisite. In Tibetan this art is called dul-tson-kyil-khor, which literally means "mandala of colored powders." Santa Fe is once again blessed by their presence as they construct a sand mandala. The lamas begin the work by drawing an outline of the mandala on the wooden platform, which requires the remainder of the day. The following days see the laying of the colored sands, which is effected by pouring the sand from traditional metal funnels called chak-purs. Each monk holds a chak-pur in one hand, while running a metal rod on its grated surface; the vibration causes the sands to flow like liquid. These mandalas can take up to two weeks to be completed. Soon after their completion, they are swept away in an elaborate and beautiful ceremony that symbolizes the impermanence of all things. We are honored to be able to attend this ceremony, coming up this Sunday at Seret & Sons in Santa Fe, New Mexico. 2w
