sonia_murphy Amazing new custom made cushions from lovely fellow Perthling, Em, from @onyxandsmoke. The fabric is from her geometric monochrome range. The fronts are Warwick Fabrics 'Chameleon' which is a flat velvet, and the backs are all plain black velvet. They all have black piping, hidden zips, and feather inserts. These are the best quality cushions I've ever seen! They are twice the quality of cushions I usually pay three times the price for! Plus, they are hand made in Perth. She's about to launch custom made bedheads (which she's been doing for years), so keep an eye out if you're in the market!

I have a rug on order in the same colour scheme to complete the look, can't wait to receive it! Thanks again for the in person consultations and Fluffy Koalas, Em!

sonia_murphy I picked up a few lovely copper pieces from the Adairs sale this week. I also got some sheets with stars on them. They are technically from the kids range, but who wants to be an adult! 1mon

sonia_murphy It's La Mer's annual World Oceans Day limited edition time again. Wow, does that come around fast! As always David Jones Claremont sold out in 24 hours, but as always, the magnificent Margot saved me one! She also gave me a sample of the new Reparative Skin Tint SPF 30 which has sold out across Australia despite only be launched last week. She has a heap of samples Perthies, so duck in and see her if you'd like to try it. 1mon

sonia_murphy 🏻 ... We're on the market! I've put a link to the listing in my profile. Be sure to check out the video, @Shellabears have done a brilliant job! It's my favourite piece of the campaign and it shows the ocean views! They have also created a 6 page colour booklet to be given out at home opens which looks fantastic. This floorplan is used in the booklet. We believe our Ballroom is the only private Ballroom in the state with ocean views, so that's pretty special. At 67m2, it's bigger than some 1 bedroom apartments. Cray cray. Originally the house sat on 5 acres of land, it's currently sitting on 4500m2, but we're subdividing off the back 1500m2.

A bit of history - it was built for Elias Solomon, who, apart from being an entrepreneur, was a Mayor of Fremantle, a state MP, and an MP in the first Federal Parliament in 1901. It later went on to become a military hospital in WW1, then a maternity hospital for several decades. WA football legend Jack Sheedy was born and grew up in the house. It has been in our business partners family for 66 years, we came on board 3 years ago.

Elias was jewish, he created the now Sitting Room as Perth's first Synagogue. The Kitchen, still the original Scullery, had a dual walk in pantry. The dividing wall has since been removed to create one large space, and the above pantry drying / airing area remains. There are also parts of the Wash House and Stables remaining, plus the heritage protected Windmill, Tank, Well and Fencing. It is a National Trust class 1A property, and it's on the State Register of Important Buildings. x

  •   rellarellarobinson You could literally write a film around this with flashbacks to the rest of the history of the house and why it was so important to save it. It would be amazing. Oh definitely!! You'll forever be the people that saved the house and kept it as part of history!! WELL DONE, YOU!! Bravo! 1mon
  •   sonia_murphy @rellarellarobinson OMG! Yes! You're right! You could! Lily Collins can play me in the movie! 1mon
  •   rellarellarobinson HA!!! She so would. Who would play the Queenslander? Hehe! 1mon
  •   sonia_murphy @rellarellarobinson People often tell me he looks like Hugh Bonneville ... 1mon
  •   rellarellarobinson EXCELLENT CHOICE!!! I do approve! @sonia_murphy !! 1mon

sonia_murphy This pic is of the southern end of the entrance hall of our Victorian Regency house in Fremantle. The hallway at the top of the screen takes you through to the enormous master bedroom (43m2) which has beautiful french doors that overlook the ocean, the door on the right takes you through to WA's first Synagogue, currently used as a living room but would make an amazing kitchen, and behind me is the door to the ballroom.

It comes on the market this week and I'm so excited! I have no idea how it's all going to end as it's so unique, but it's been such a great ride. We have 3 Home Opens this week alone. One on Monday evening to introduce the local agents to the property where @Shellabears will offer them generous conjunctional rates, one on Wednesday evening to give all the neighbours a look, then the first official public Open on Saturday. It will be open every Saturday for five weeks from 3pm to 4pm. You are more than welcome to come through and have a look, however as we're expecting several hundred people through in the first two weeks, perhaps wait a couple of weeks until the traffic clears. I'll post another pic this week with a link in my profile to the listing once it's up. If you see the house featured in the press, will you please let me know where you saw it? (It will be everywhere) Thanks! x

sonia_murphy The large keys on the left are our actual door keys for our Freo house. 130 years later there still are no modern locks. As it is about to come on the market I've given the gold one to our real estate agent. If all goes well, it will never be in our possession again. I already miss it clanging about in my bag scratching up my phone. (I should add, these aren't the original keys, they are long gone, these are replicas.) 2mon

sonia_murphy New artwork for the hallway. A giant number 3, our street number. For most of the day the glass reflects the sun shining through our beautiful leadlight front door, making the chandelier look like a mirror ball with it. Print from Society6, framed locally. 3mon

sonia_murphy A recent addition to our bedroom, the Freedom 'Grayson' Chair. (As an aside, I don't think I've taken my Sigma Art lens off my camera for longer than 5 minutes since I got it! Outside the window is a 40 metre high Liquid Amber tree that brings beautiful shade and coolness during summer, but of course with it, darkness. Additionally, when I took this pic it was very overcast. My camera was set to just ISO 200, and this was the result with no flash and spot metering. I even had to turn the highlights down to 0 in Lightroom! ) 3mon

sonia_murphy Choose your own adventure. We are currently walking two different paths simultaneously with our grand old dame, let's see where they lead us! (While taking this pic yesterday I tripped on a tree root, strained my achilles, and snagged my shirt on a rose bush exposing my midriff - all to great amusement of the roofers next door. I also managed to get sunburnt ... in just 5 minutes. Damn Irish.) 4mon

sonia_murphy Wishful thinking winter tones.

I finally found some wall art for above the bed from @ashtonandharper. It's not something you'd ordinarily see in a bedroom, but I've never in my life followed the rules and I have no intention of starting now. I'll gram when they are back from the stretchers.

sonia_murphy We were gifted an old dining table that had seen better days, so I sanded it down, refinished it, and made it our outdoor table. Really happy with how it turned out. Those three years of elective carpentry come in handy from time to time. 6mon
