siobhanwolf Shaking it as the momma of an official high school freshman and a fifth grader. #shakeitout2014 #Hipstamatic #Tinto1884 #RTV 2w
  •   twothirdssky It's big Momma and you are looking good. 2w
  •   siobhanwolf @twothirdssky It is bigger than I expected. Hit me harder than I imagined. She's excited for high school now, I think. Fingers crossed for a great year for her. 2w
  •   twothirdssky So much school work, that's what I have found! I wish we had middle school here, it has been such a challenge for my kids going from a school of 60 or so to one where there are years 7 to 12 with at least 200 in each year. Whew. Overwhelming. Good luck to you all. 2w
  •   siobhanwolf @twothirdssky that is a big change for your girls. the schools here are much bigger. I think there are around 650 in her freshman class. years 9-12 in the school. they have just the year 9s start on the first day, do they can do activities and move around the huge building with a little more ease than when all four years are there together. She's fortunate that her heavy academic classes are periods 1-4 then she has choir, lunch, study hall and then her final class which is speech. She doesn't have to run all around the building back and forth, so that's great. 2w
  •   twothirdssky Oh my Lordy! That is big! My girls could cope with all the noise at first - I can only imagine having to interact with that many people On a daily basis! Good to have a timetable like that. Here ours have a rotating 8 day timetable - do they have that there? At the moment I would like to take my kids and run away with them ... Sometimes I feel like school is stealing what little childhood energy they have left, but this is life I guess. 2w
  •   siobhanwolf @twothirdssky It is a lot of people. She's not a big interaction person so I suspect she'll keep her head down, focus on her studies and she'll be okay. I hope she makes some new friends as well this year. I don't think we have the rotating timetable. They do break the year up into 4 quarters, and her last class is only one semester, she'll have something else in that spot in the second half of the year, after Christmas break. Childhood, it is so fleeting. We can only hope that they will always be kids at heart. 2w
  •   soupatraveler OMG!!!! You're way to young for that!!! 2w
