simplymodernmom No snow in Georgia so we make it. But I enjoy 50° to 60° weather in December. I grew up in warm places. I can't handle the cold or snow. #fakesnow #museumfun 4h

simplymodernmom What I am eating for lunch. I have 15 mins in the car between helping out in kindergarten and going to a 3rd grade school event. That's after I baked a birthday cake this morning and before running errands, putting together a birthday get together, and a quick clean of the house before guests arrive. Then after the kids go to bed I get to play elf and put together the secret and *magical* parts of Christmas. It's like this pretty much the entire month of December. #food #imdonecomplainingnow #enjoyingthesemoments 5d

simplymodernmom Happy big 60th birthday to my dad! He taught me that everyday is a great adventure, it is never too late to learn something new, love the great outdoors, you are never too old to play, work hard in life, take time to travel, and take different routes to see new things. #tougholdmen 7d
  •   hannahbetzel Great life lessons! @simplymodernmom 7d
  •   tcensign That was really sweet! You were blessed with a great Dad and he an appreciative, sweet daughter. I say a win-win for you both! 7d

simplymodernmom No looking back. She went all the way up the stairs Saturday and figured out how to go down the stairs today. I didn't use a baby gate for any of my four girls. We just taught them how to go up and down the stairs at a young age. This girl we didn't have to teach. She just did it. #motherhood #9monthsold 1w
  •   ericadeuel Love this pic of her cute red pjs in white carpet!1w
  •   nauvooflower I did the same thing with my girls. Drove me nuts at thanksgiving at the inlaws when we still had to have the gate up for the 2 year old 1w
  •   makeitandloveit Look at her go! 1w
  •   chantomars @simplymodernmom we didn't have a 2 story with my first born, so this is all new to me, and my 11 month old can go up and down the stairs by himself (supervised of course) My issue is keeping him off of the stairs, he thinks it's a game! 1w
  •   mommyof2littleladies Stop it! That's crazy! Callie Jane still isn't crawling! Lol! 1w
  •   julianaturner Received your card today. Thanks again for remembering us! You guys are such a beautiful family! :) 1w
  •   zimmerphotoz Very cool photograph. 1w

simplymodernmom Getting a mani from Cinderella. She attended a super fun spa birthday party where they got mani, pedi, makeup, and hair done then dressed up for a fashion show. This girl was in heaven. #motherhood 2w

simplymodernmom I am having a free OCD therapy session by letting the 3-year-old be my helper with these 80+ Christmas cards. The stamps are everywhere on the envelope or even upside down! It's taking a lot of self control on my part to let her keep going and not redoing everything she did. #breathe #letitgo 2w
  •   brettbeauty Yikes! My OCD self would be going crazy! Motherhood will teach me a lot of things! Haha. 2w
  •   powell177 Sounds like me 😬 that's a hard one 2w
  •   mormonfamily You are a good mom! It is even harder when you let them load the dishwasher and clean a bathroom! 2w
  •   jjhaag5 I agree with @mormonfamily it's hard being OCD- what a great momma to let the littles help out 2w
  •   jennyuye I've heard that upside down stamps are code for "I love you" 2w
  •   tcensign Birds... Byrd's-how appropriate! Upside down or not, what a way to personalize them from YOUR family! We better be getting one of your beautiful family! :) 2w

simplymodernmom Putting the 3-year-old to work on stamping and stuffing the Christmas cards. Sorry if you get your card and things are a little off. Next year she'll be ready to address it, I'm sure! #motherhood #meanmom 2w

simplymodernmom They arrived today. I don't know why we put up with this craziness and how we ended up with 2 elves. But we are foolish parents for starting such a tradition years ago. #elfontheshelf 2w

simplymodernmom 5 or 6 years ago I made all 6 stockings anticipating that I would have four kids. This Christmas is the first year we put up all 6 stockings! Feel so blessed to have a house full of four lovely girls and a very out numbered husband who keeps all the females in the house grounded. (P.S. I also purchase 6 matching frames for our silhouettes years ago. I guess I always knew I would have four kids.) #familiesareforever 2w

simplymodernmom Sleep is for the weak… baby girl has been teething and putting me in some horrible sleep deprivation torture. Tonight/morning was the worst by far. #motherhood #goodthingsheiscute #exhausted 1mon
  •   hannahbetzel My babysitter says my youngest is "fragile" when he's particularly out of sorts. I loved that she used that word - it helps me muster up that last bit of "I got this." Good luck, mama. Hope you get some rest today! @simplymodernmom 1mon
  •   mommyof2littleladies So sorry. 1mon
  •   julianaturner No fun. For her AND for you. :/ 1mon
  •   helloyellowbirdy Those moments are good and hard. They make me want to give my mom a big hug and thank her for all the unsung sacrifices I'm barely realizing she made for me. Here's to naps and hoping you can get one soon! 1mon

simplymodernmom Celebrating the birthday of my beautiful, fearless, charitable, and amazing mom. She is the perfect example of coming out strong from trials. Even as she continues to fight her battle with cancer for the second time, she still wears a smile on her face day after day. I love her so much! 1mon

simplymodernmom Well, that's one way to get me started on that large pile of laundry. Kindergartener came home with the dreaded, "someone in your child's class had lice" letter. #ugh #fivegirlsinthishousewithlotsofhair 1mon
  •   simplymodernmom @wendyhadley it's so hard when we have so many kids, huh? I use a spray with tea tree and other stuff every morning. We also have it in the shampoo too just in case. I'm a little overboard I'm sure! Hahaha 1mon
  •   wendyhadley Awesome, sounds like you have it under control! But yeah, a lice infestation is the LAST thing I need! 1mon
  •   griffethhome Wait!! You put tea tree oil in your kids' hair EVERY day to avoid lice? Tell me more about this! 1mon
  •   simplymodernmom @griffethhome yes! You have to get this for your girls. I've been doing it since the day my oldest was in kindergarten and came home with the some kid in her class had lice letter (over 3 yrs ago). I order mine off amazon. I've used Fairy Tales and LiceLogic brands. Both good. They also have shampoo to prevent lice. Lice doesn't like tea tree oil, Rosemary scents. Every morning I spray my girls' hair with the hair spray all over their hair. And I spray it on their jackets, backpacks, hats on hat days. I'm a little excessive but I've got 4 girls and a lot of hair! 1mon
  •   simplymodernmom @griffethhome you can also find the sprays and shampoo at Ulta and some hair salons. Or if you do essential oils, you can just add drops of tea tree oil to their shampoo. 1mon
  •   griffethhome Wow! I'm definitely ordering some ASAP! Thank you!! Does the spray smell awful? 1mon
  •   simplymodernmom @griffethhome it's not the best smell in the world but not that bad either. I've gotten used to it and by the time they come home you can't smell it anymore. :) 1mon
  •   barlowfam5 Ahhh! Not fun! Hopefully you're good though, especially since you do the tea tree oil thing. @griffethhome, I bought some shampoo from walmart that has tea tree oil in it and smells like peppermint. I love it! I'll post a pic for you tomorrow if you want. It's a little more than I usually like to pay but not too bad. But I'm pretty sure you can buy tea tree oil at walmart too and just add it to whatever shampoo you already use. Lice is no fun!! 1mon
