  •   kerribrown123 What the heck people?!? I am VERY thick in the cancer world! Do all you can! No question healthy choices help! No one is saying the medical world is a bad choice or that you shouldn't go there. We use both and it's awesome. I find it SO interesting how people who aren't sick judge how someone does this journey. It's a very personal journey....I encourage people to be informed and fight with all you have. There are amazing things in both camps! My 18yr old son has stage 4 melanoma. It's been 11 months. Life went from very normal to upside down. You just can't know or judge how people choose to handle the cancer issue. We are working w a great cancer center and we blend like crazy!! To each their own. Some say antioxidants and other vitamins help rebuild the damage done by chemo and radiation, others say it also protects the cancerous cells from being treated. Though most agree, moderation is key. What i struggle to find is the definition of moderation, what's too much and what's not enough?! 51min

  •   7nella7 @molly_kubik I got diagnosed with GP in 2003. There is a book called "Living Well with Gastroparesis" and it was a game changer for me. The biggest thing for me was managing stress. Oh I wish I could tell you my story bc I pretty much don't need medicine and feel amazing! Just went back to GI Dr and he isn't even sure I have GP anymore! It's pretty rad!! 9h

simplegreensmoothies Every night of the Fresh Start 21 Cleanse, we end with this perfect little treat!
SPICED ALMOND MILK | serves one
1 cup almond milk, unsweetened
1โ„4 teaspoon cinnamon
A pinch of ground ginger
A pinch of cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon maple syrup (optional)
1 tablespoon almond butter (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Combine all ingredients in a small pan.
2. Heat on the stove with medium heat until warm.
3. Pour into a mug.

This is the perfect little treat for the end of the day. The combination of almond milk and warming digestive spices balances your blood sugar and stabilizes your metabolism. For an extra protein boost (which helps curb hunger pains), add almond butter. For an extra dash of sweetness, add maple syrup and stir through.

FAMOUS LOADED SWEET POTATO | serves two
2 small sweet potatoes
1 cup fresh kale, stems removed & shredded
1 cup red cabbage, shredded
1 cup carrots, grated
1 avocado, diced
2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons pepitas
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Black pepper and sea salt

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Prick sweet potatoes with a fork and bake for 45 to 60 minutes, or until tender.
2. Meanwhile, place shredded kale, cabbage, and grated carrots in a bowl. Cover with the avocado and seeds.
3. In a separate bowl, combine oil, lemon juice, and mustard. Add to the shredded vegetables and gently toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
4. When sweet potatoes are finished baking, cut a slit in the top and serve topped with the salad. *Note: Top one sweet potato with half the salad. Save the leftovers for the next dayโ€™s lunch.

COCONUT CHIA PUDDING | serves one
2 tablespoons chia seeds
1/2 cup coconut milk, unsweetened
1 tablespoon coconut flakes, unsweetened
1โ„8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (or 1/2 vanilla bean, scraped)
1 teaspoon maple syrup
1โ„4 cup blueberries*
2 tablespoons pepitas
2 tablespoons sliced almonds *Note: Swap out blueberries for another berry of your choice (blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, etc). INSTRUCTIONS
1. Stir together chia seeds, coconut milk, coconut flakes, cinnamon, vanilla, and maple syrup in a small bowl or jar.
2. Cover and set aside for at least 10 minutes, or overnight.
3. Before eating, top the pudding with a layer of the berries and sprinkle the nuts on top.

Chia pudding is the ultimate fast snack or easy breakfast. Chia seeds are loaded with omega 3 essential fatty acids, protein, fiber, magnesium, and a whole host of other nutrients. Add the coconut milk, nuts and berries for extra nutrition and the spices for flavor and you have a winner, folks! Prep one (or several) the night before in individual jars for easy grab and go snacks.

1 small ripe mango
1โ„2 avocado

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cups fresh spinach

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Cut mango and avocado into 1โ„2 inch cubes and place in a bowl.
2. Add the chopped cilantro, sunflower seeds, lime juice and olive oil.
3. Stir to coat and add spinach.
4. Toss well and serve.

WARRIOR BARS | serves 8
2 tablespoons chia seeds + 6 tbs water
1 cup almond meal + 1โ„2 cup coconut flakes
1 cup gluten-free rolled oats
1โ„2 cup dried fruit*
2 cups mashed banana (super ripe)
1โ„3 cup pepitas (or pumpkin seeds) + 1โ„3 cup sunflower seeds
1โ„3 cup sliced almonds
1โ„2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
(or 1โ„2 vanilla bean, scraped)
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt

1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (180ยฐC). Grease or line 8 inch square baking dish with parchment (baking) paper.
2. Soak chia seeds in 6 tablespoons of water for 5 minutes.
3. Combine the chia seeds and remaining ingredients in a bowl.
4. Press the mixture into the prepared baking sheet.
5. Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until golden on top. Remove from oven and let cool.
6. Slice into 8 bars. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.

We love these bars! A sustaining and yummy snack thatโ€™s super portable and full of nutrition. Itโ€™s really important to keep blood sugar stable between main meals, and by snacking on something thatโ€™s high in protein and good fats, youโ€™re setting yourself up to regulate this well. These bars have the addition of chia and goji berries (or any dried fruit of your choice), both nutritional powerhouses in their own right.

MORNING TONIC | serves one
1 cup filtered water
1-inch fresh ginger root, thinly sliced 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Dash of cayenne pepper
Fresh parsley (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Bring water to a boil.
2. Add sliced ginger, lemon juice and warm water to a mug.
3. Pour hot water into the mug and allow to steep for 5 minutes.
4. Add a dash of cayenne, and parsley (if using). We love starting each day with MORNING TONIC! Hot water and lemon in the morning is one of the best things that you can do for your digestion. The lemon not only promotes alkalinity in the body, but kick-starts the liver into action for the day, encouraging the release of digestive fluids. Despite their name, sweet potatoes have a low GIโ€” which helps balance the blood sugar. Theyโ€™re also packed with vitamin A, B vitamins, potassium and fiber. They provide the perfect base for this delicious kale slaw, which is screaming with nutrients that help stimulate digestion and absorption. The only downside to this meal? Itโ€™s so delicious, itโ€™s hard to stop at one potato.

2 small sweet potatoes
