sightglass We're pretty excited to see these beautiful little numbers on our San Francisco coffee bars next week. We had the pleasure of working with the incredible folks across the Bay at @atelier_dion on these (shown here as works in progress). They'll be on bar and for sale at 20th Street and 7th Street for you drinking pleasure, as well as a limited number for sale there and in our webstore. Stay tuned. // Atelier Dion, Oakland 4d

sightglass The Brothers Morrison. Our founders have been traveling these last two months alongside our tireless green buyer, Adam, making their way through East Africa and Latin America sourcing beautiful new coffees. It's always a treat to see them take a moment to enjoy a coffee and some conversation in the new location, before getting back to business. // Sightglass 20th Street, San Francisco. sightglass Shaded raised drying beds. These simple structures make for much more consistent, less harsh drying. The coffee is kept out of direct sunlight, while throughout the day the temperature inside can be adjusted by opening or closing the sidewalls. This particular structure stands on the actual roof of our dear friend Wilfredo's beneficio, at his beautiful estate, Finca Alcatraz. // Colombia, 2014 1w

sightglass Great feature on the "The Best Coffee Shop in Every Single SF Neighborhood" from our friends over at Thrillist. Always a treat to be placed amongst such lovelies as @piccinocoffeebar and @duboceparkcafe, and a particularly humbling honor having our new 20th Street space be considered the best in The Mission! sightglass We were welcomed by this surprise upon arrival at Finca Alcatraz in Colombia. Truly the most meaningful expression of gratitude we have ever received. We are still tearing up over Wilfredo Ule's newly built beneficio, with this sign pained on the front for all of Oporapa to see. // Huila, Colombia 2w

Our trip has been a beauty so far--amazing coffees, incredible people, and a landscape that never ceases to stop us in our tracks. // Rio Blanco, Colombia. 2w

sightglass A screened size-sorting table in Ecuador. This machine separates small, broken, or abnormal beans before they move on through another two density sorting procedures. This ensures a uniform makeup to the green coffee we get in our roastery, and a more consistent and delicious cup. // Quito, Ecuador 3w

sightglass Workers turn and rotate processed coffee drying on raised beds, so the beans dry in an even, timely manner. They also take this opportunity to discard and suspect or visibly defective beans. For more on our visit to Rwanda, visit the blog: www.sightglasscoffee.com/blog. // Western Rwanda, 2014. 4w

sightglass If you're in The Mission, make a point to visit 20th Street, our new coffee bar and roastery. Nestled into the lovely block between Alabama and Florida, we're in good company with Trick Dog, Central Kitchen, Salumeria, and Southern Exposure as neighbors. All coffees are roasted in-house, including Jerboa's Jump, a remarkable espresso blend exclusive to 20th Street. // 3014 20th Street, San Francisco. 1mon

sightglass We're back from a truly incredible trip to Rwanda. We'll be posting photos and stories of our adventures over the coming week, as we gear up for a quickly approaching trip to Colombia and Ecuador. These days, it's rare we even get to unpack our bags save for the beautiful samples we've brought back to roast and cup. This is the view from our second night's lodging, one of the most beautiful sights we've ever seen. // Lake Kivu, Rwanda. 1mon

sightglass Remember this beauty? The espresso machine that we began service with in 2009 while still building out our flagship roastery. It's bittersweet, but we've decided to pass our restored @lamarzocco GS/2 on to a very lucky someone. Search for it on eBay: item #231261559506 1mon
