Thanks to @noisepopfest for all their hard work organizing what is sure to be another great party! // 20th Street Block Party, 2014 3d

sightglass For consummate coffee pros like our staff, the opportunity to travel to origin is a career dream. Yesterday we held our first of what will be a twice-annual game of Origin Bingo, the winner of which will be sent on an all expense paid trip to Latin America or East Africa. Yesterday's winner was none other than Brian DeAngelis. Brian is one of our most enthusiastic and passionate baristas, a genuine beam of sunshine at our 7th Street coffee bar. Brian told us that, for him, yesterday means three firsts: He's never won anything. He's never left the country. And he's never done a keg stand. Here's looking at you, kid. // Tilden Park, Oakland #SightglassBBQ 1w

sightglass We'll be closing both our San Francisco locations at 1pm today, for our annual staff BBQ. One day a year we shutter early so our whole crew can get together, grill some burgers, drink some beers, throw some frisbees, have coffee sack races, and generally enjoy one another's company. Apologies for the inconvenience. We appreciate your support and we'll be back at it bright and early tomorrow, at 7am. // Sightglass BBQ, 2013 1w

sightglass Introducing our new custom coffee mugs. We designed these lovely little numbers with the inimitable @atelier_dion, an Oakland-based ceramics studio owned and operated by two of the sweetest people you'll ever meet, Jay and Rie Dion. Two years ago we worked with them on a @unionmadegoods collaboration, which included a custom handle-less cup. We took our inspiration from that initial collaboration and eventually arrived at what we think is the perfect coffee mug. We're so happy to see these on bar. They're also currently available for purchase at both of our San Francisco locations, and will be up on our webstore soon. We can't wait for you to take your first sip from one of these beauties. // San Francisco, California 3w

sightglass In addition to Jerboa's Jump, we're now offering a monthly rotating Single Origin Espresso at our new 20th Street coffee bar and roastery. First in the hopper, El Meridiano Peaberry, a very limited fully washed Colombian coffee comprising a careful separation from 60 small producers in the Tolima region. As an espresso, it has a silky body and dense, crème brûlée sweetness, with sparkly notes of ripe blackberry. // Sightglass 20th Street, San Francisco 3w

sightglass We're pretty excited to see these beautiful little numbers on our San Francisco coffee bars next week. We had the pleasure of working with the incredible folks across the Bay at @atelier_dion on these (shown here as works in progress). They'll be on bar and for sale at 20th Street and 7th Street for you drinking pleasure, as well as a limited number for sale there and in our webstore. Stay tuned. // Atelier Dion, Oakland 1mon

sightglass The Brothers Morrison. Our founders have been traveling these last two months alongside our tireless green buyer, Adam, making their way through East Africa and Latin America sourcing beautiful new coffees. It's always a treat to see them take a moment to enjoy a coffee and some conversation in the new location, before getting back to business. // Sightglass 20th Street, San Francisco. sightglass Shaded raised drying beds. These simple structures make for much more consistent, less harsh drying. The coffee is kept out of direct sunlight, while throughout the day the temperature inside can be adjusted by opening or closing the sidewalls. This particular structure stands on the actual roof of our dear friend Wilfredo's beneficio, at his beautiful estate, Finca Alcatraz. // Colombia, 2014 1mon

sightglass Great feature on the "The Best Coffee Shop in Every Single SF Neighborhood" from our friends over at Thrillist. Always a treat to be placed amongst such lovelies as @piccinocoffeebar and @duboceparkcafe, and a particularly humbling honor having our new 20th Street space be considered the best in The Mission!
