shanniloves Any Tips on how to avoid that hump when using a twin needle. @lladybird ?? 7d
  •   shanniloves @lladybird awesome thanks! I'm able to adjust my pressure foot tension but am unable to find the bobbin tension as @artworkerprojects said. Adjusting my pressure foot helped though 7d
  •   _measuretwice I have a dial on the left hand side of my machine which deals with the bobbin tension. Some machines have them and some don't. Honestly apart from twin needle I don't think I ever adjust it for anything else? 7d
  •   velosewer Love the print! 7d
  •   foursquarewalls Buy a coverstitch! ! ! ! ! Or... knit interfacing helps, too. 7d
  •   almondrock_sews Buy a twin needle with a wider gap between the two needles. That's what my local machine repair/salesman advised 6d
  •   shanniloves @foursquarewalls oh yeah asking Santa to bring me one this year for Christmas! 6d
  •   asewingthread Oh, I so hate it when 'da bump' happens! Saw some solutions already, here's my list: add a strip of stretchy interfacing OR make it a double folded hem (both options give the stitches more 'grip'), a wider double needle, a longer stitch length, lower tension for 'under thread' (whatsthatinEnglish?) so the stitches don't get pulled into the fabric so much, using a 'softer' thread (i.e. not 100percent cotton). Good luck! 6d
  •   shanniloves @asewingthread thank you so much!!! I will give these a go! 6d

shanniloves Jackpot at the thrift store today! Prepare yourselves for a candy bar dress! Ha! 2w
  •   seweverything Great score for you. 2w
  •   marrieb Nice. I think Vito wants a Mr goodbar dog bed though. 2w
  •   gjeometry So many patterns! And what will you sew with the Mr. Goodbar fabric! 2w
  •   oonaballoona Oh glory. 2w
  •   shanniloves @marrieb aha! Perfect idea!!! 2w
  •   shanniloves @gjeometry it's actually costume fabric. There are instructions printed on the fabric to make a Halloween costume with it. I like @marrieb idea though. I should have plenty to make my husband a costume. Ha!!! 2w

shanniloves My Bernina store is having a sale on feet. Thought I should take advantage since they are so expensive. Fellow #bernina lovers what do I get!? What's your favorite foot? 2w

shanniloves Opinions needed on scissors!! What size should I get? When cutting my fabric with patterns I always get a jagged edge. Do I want the 10, 11 or 12? What do u use? #sewing #sewcialists 2w
  •   maryguanay Victorinox 8" <3 2w
  •   cherrypix I love my 11s...but could easily go for 12. 2w
  •   viedomestique My mother gave me kai blades as a gift this afternoon. I'm sooo in love! 2w
  •   shanniloves @viedomestique oh you lucky girl!! Enjoy!! 2w
  •   joostdecock Be careful with shear size, because a higher number does not always mean a longer blade. For example, the 11" and 12" blades of some Kai models have the same blade length. The difference is that on the 12" shears, the handles or longer, requiring your hand to open wider. Or, to put it the other way, the 11" model gives you the same blade length with less mobility required, and is this designed for a smaller hand. Some would say that the 11" is the 12" redesigned for women. Now I am not sure that this is the case for the models on display here, but I do know this is true for at least some (of the tailoring) models. 2w
  •   shanniloves @joostdecock thanks!!! I didn't know that. 2w

shanniloves Do you think this fabric is too busy for this dress? I'm afraid the pleats will just be lost in the print. #sewcialists @jenniferlauren3 2w
