sgoralnick I'm guessing his backpack contained delicate objects of antiquity, necessitating the protection of an empty subway seat on either side of him at rush hour. Or perhaps he was just #savingroomforcats(.tumblr.com) 2w

sgoralnick Had an apple-pear-butternut squash soup from @PhoeniciaDiner that was so good I was inspired to pick up the ingredients at a farmers market upstate and whip one up myself at home. 3w

  •   ace_kelly What charm @tonyapalazzi !! I love it- the light quality radiating from the window... Divine! Thx for the tag! 1mon
  •   ace_kelly I can hear those metal cupboards closing.. so familiar @tonyapalazzi 1mon
  •   chadallen Is that in one of the buildings that's open to the public? Looks more like officer's quarters that are not open... 1mon
  •   sgoralnick @chadallen it was a thing where all the houses on Colonel's Row were filled with art installations and we're open to the public on weekends in September. 1mon

sgoralnick Last night was quite a treat, not only for the screening of There Will Be Blood with live accompaniment by the Wordless Music Orchestra and Jonny Greenwood, but also for the jaw-dropping interior of the United Palace Theatre. The architectural style of the theatre has been described as "Byzantine-Romanesque-Indo-Hindu-Sino-Moorish-Persian-Eclectic-Rococo-Deco" by David W. Dunlap of the New York Times, which sounds quite accurate. 1mon

sgoralnick The emptying of the pockets before doing The Laundry. Reminders of the week where zip ties, finger lights, earplugs, and rainbow-producing glasses were the daily essentials that replaced housekeys, wallet, metrocard, and cellphone. #burningman2014 2mon

  •   yonimayeri Looks hot & dusty, how was it inside? 2mon
  •   sgoralnick @yonimayeri dunno, I sleep in a tent under a shade structure. The yurts mostly don't have windows and many have ACs or swamp coolers, so I imagine they are the opposite of hot and dusty inside. 2mon
  •   crswd I didn't see those things growing in population... maybe just cause they're not my cup o' tea. some engineering goin on with those campers though ;) water pumps and AC and so forth. 2mon
  •   yonimayeri Thanks for the info @sgoralnick 2mon
