sewdeliciousros Alright 20 things. Just for you @jackiegillies 1. I just turned 35.
2. I often wonder what I'm going to do when I grow up.
3. I only wear make up for very special occasions.
4. I often think it was a good thing that social media didn't exist when I was in high school.
5. I met my husband working at the cinemas in Crown Casino. It has made me never, ever want to gamble.
6. I work as a receptionist and medical typist at a radiology clinic.
7. When I was 13 I was a state champion sprinter for the 100 metres.
8. Four days after the birth of my eldest daughter I had a break down and was bedridden and incoherent for 48 hours. I felt ashamed for a long time about that.
9. I am staunchly pro choice but my choice would be life.
10. Before children I was a high school maths & science teacher and level coordinator for yr 7.
11. I love pop culture and I want to refer to movies, song lyrics and TV shows all the time but rarely do because I wonder if people will think I'm a crazy person.
12. But I do all the time in every conversation with my sister.
13. My husband is incredibly driven and motivated which is a helpful influence for me. I can be a bit lazy!
14. My first crush was Keanu Reeves in Speed.
15. I don't really like eating sandwiches. Unless they are fancy.
16. I'm nervous in crowds after being crushed in a mosh pit at a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert when I was 16.
17. Once I started teaching it opened my eyes to what a blessed and easy childhood I had.
18. I don't drink coffee or tea.
19. I have had problems with anaemia since my teenage years but I hate taking iron tablets because I get some yuck side effects.
20. My kids are 6 and almost 4. They are everything to me but I do feel happy that I'm getting my life back after a long time in the baby/toddler wilderness.

So there you go! I'd love to hear from @msmidge @amywyhoon @gnomeangel if you haven't done this already.

  •   sewcreateit Great list.. Just did my 20 Things too.. Such fun! 4w
  •   sewdeliciousros @windyrisepatchwork 👭 that's the closest emoji I could find for a hug! It's a tough feeling. 4w
  •   sewdeliciousros @carolpxto Hot chocolate wins! But even then sometimes I'm just happy with a glass of water! 4w
  •   sewdeliciousros @sewcreateit thanks! I'll pop over and check yours out! 4w
  •   jackiegillies @sewdeliciousros - lovely to learn more about you! It's amazing the pressure we put on ourselves as first time mums... I was determined to have a natural birth and managed it, but my eldest was born with a pneumothorax and spent the first 3 days in NICU and then for his first 6 months didn't sleep unless he was in our arms. Hence the co-sleeping and baby wearing. I didn't really tell people initially because I worried what people would think... 4w
  •   daylily1976 Ros - know you only through s.m. but your story touches all of us. Motherhood is the greatest choice one ever makes and it is, by definition, a blind choice. The books and coaches tell us to rejoice that our children are healthy. The reality is that sometimes a woman's own health changes and we need to acknowledge that. I would make the same choice always -- but I am different. This said with two young adult children that I love and admire deeply. A return to your creative life is a celebration. 4w
  •   sewdeliciousros @jackiegillies yes we are SO hard on ourselves! No one comes through it unscathed do they? 4w
  •   sewdeliciousros @daylily1976 thanks Susan such lovely words! 4w

sewdeliciousros Such a great fabric for quilt backing. Apparently Ikea have stopped printing it. #quilting #charmdash #charmdashbloghop 1mon
  •   obsessivequilter @Sewdeliciousros bet on it! 1mon
  •   laura_procter There's still some at Springvale I opened a new bolt there last week thinking I should go back for some more before it's gone forever... 1mon
  •   sarahmgoer It was just when I decided to buy a bolt that they'd discontinued it. :-/ I tried to like something that they had, but nothing compares. 1mon
  •   bethcurtis62 When I heard they were discontinuing this, I bought a full bolt of it from the IKEA near me. I love this fabric for backings. 1mon
  •   sewdeliciousros @laura_procter you shouldn't have told me that... 1mon
  •   sewdeliciousros @bethcurtis62 me too! Large scale prints work so well. 1mon
  •   sewdeliciousros @sarahmgoer hopefully they will bring out something similar. 1mon
  •   laura_procter I live local if you'd like me to pick you up some? No problem, I think I'll go get more it's only $4/m 1mon

sewdeliciousros Basting time! Not my favourite part of the process. What about you? Pins or spray? #quilting #charmdash #charmdashbloghop 2mon
  •   megmormel Spray. I get cranky now when I have to use pins. 2mon
  •   cmbhusker Pins. Spray is just too expensive to use on big quilts, and I don't love the smell/stickiness. I do occasionally use spray for little projects like pillows though. 2mon
  •   bethcurtis62 Pins and I use boards so I can sit or stand. 2mon
  •   daydreamsofquilts I spray! Your quilt is looking fantastic! Love the colours and fabrics. 2mon
  •   beautiful_squirrel_creations I spray and then pin problem areas ..... Double up to be safe! 2mon
  •   trcharest Spray. Pins and I tend to battle 2mon
  •   raspberryspool Ever since my daughter said how much the spray smells like poison, I always use Pins. Plus I often pin a couple at a time. I use a sheet of mdf over my dining table. Then I can clip and pin as much as I need. 1mon
