seabroccoli Kindred spirit and sister, meet Ariana. Today we shared London fogs from Not Just Coffee and an incredible lunch at Luna's. Ariana is about to take off for California in a few weeks and I couldn't be more excited for her. Jesus, creating music, and loving people are her passions. We talked and dreamed about everything but what resonated deepest in my heart was this simple truth: when you're in love, you have nothing to prove. 6d

seabroccoli So funny story, as @ellielacey, @staytheshores, @jo_raber, and I were walking downtown in Knoxville this weekend taking pictures, we hear someone yelling at us as they drive by in a car full of people. Having no idea what they may have said we just assumed people here are crazy haha. That night at @unitedpursuit's live recording we ended up worshipping right beside @nicfarley, the same guy who yelled at us earlier that day, "Use the square mode!" 1w

seabroccoli Love isn't something that we invented. It's observable. Powerful. It has to mean something. Maybe it means something more, something we can't yet understand. Maybe it's some evidence, some artifact of a higher dimension that we can't consciously perceive. Love is the one thing that we're capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space. Maybe we should trust that, even if we can't understand it. —Interstellar 2w

seabroccoli There are two types of people in this world: those who crawl under their bed in the storm and those who charge—arms wide, without fear, into its very midst and dance. 2w

seabroccoli Within a blink of an eye, my favorite season has come and gone. One thing I love to do at the end of Autumn is to lay underneath the trees and watch the leaves fall. Only for a moment in time after several months of growing, they will break free and twirl their way to the ground in complete freedom. I want my life to look like this moment. I want to dance and sing praises when there seems to be no control. To be completely at peace with where the wind may blow and trust the journey. It's such a beautiful one.

Also, I created a blog today! The link is in my bio if you'd like to check it out.

  •   seabroccoli @rosaliehaizlett @theemptycorner oooo girls what were y'all talking about?! 3w
  •   theemptycorner @seabroccoli @rosaliehaizlett we were talking about my blog and the fear I have of being completely transparent. I just read the post and it's exactly what I was talking about. It's easy to let fear hold you back from the freedom that can be found if only we let go of what others may think. 3w
  •   seabroccoli @theemptycorner Megan first of all, you're amazing and I'm so glad we connected! @rosaliehaizlett thanks for that Rosalie The moment we really discover God's love for us will be the moment we realize we have nothing to prove to anyone in this world because we are fully accepted and the fear of man, fear of failure, fear of whatever, has no place in our hearts. When you're in love, nothing else matters. So let love be what drives you everyday to stand confident in who you are because you are beautiful and qualified to do great things. Love you girls! ️ Cheers to being transparent from here on out! 3w

seabroccoli It's amazing how each of us process reality so differently. For some it's so instant and real, then for others it takes a while until it all clicks. Processing all the goodbyes I've made recently is hitting me like a bag of bricks and the reality of letting go of friends and family as they pursue their passions worldwide brings me to this great revelation of eternity. There will be a day I will never have to let go of your hand. There will be a day I will never have to say goodbye. There will be a wedding that will never die and dancing that will never end. Laughter that goes on and on. Love that surpasses the shallow depths my finite mind can only comprehend right now. I can't wait for that day. 3w

seabroccoli Meet Anne. She came to visit me this weekend in Charlotte before moving to Nepal for a few years to be a worship leader and intercessor in a house of prayer there. I met Anne in YWAM last year and we traveled together as outreach buddies to the Middle East. Our team nicknamed her Songbird and she has definitely lived up to that name. The stories we share together are beautiful, insane, raw, emotional, and real. I am so thankful for this courageous and passionate woman that I get to call friend. Anne, you will move mountains in Nepal and you will see His glory fall just through being love.
If you guys have any encouraging words for Anne as she beings this new journey, just comment below and tag her so she gets notified.

seabroccoli To think we only made plans to hang out last week in Lynchburg after meeting two years ago on the marta at Passion 2012. Jon, you carried wisdom beyond your years and a contagious joy that spread like wildfire. You have left us all inspired and hungry for new depths of knowing Jesus. You are so loved and my prayers go out to your family. I can't wait to see you again one day. It will be the best day.
Jon wrote this in October: "If life ends at the grave, then we have no ultimate purpose for living." – William Lane Craig. "The fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same. As one dies so dies the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no advantage for man over beast, for all is vanity. All go to the same place. All come from the dust and return to dust." Ecclesiastes 3:19-20
We were created to enjoy, serve, love, and please our Creator! Why? Because there is ultimate and significant purpose in this! We are given value and purpose from the greatest being in the universe - God. Through His Son - Jesus Christ.
If there is no God, we could all live for ourselves and not worry about a single consequence. All of creation, people vs. animals; none of it would be different as it all would have been thruster into existence with no purpose. The cumulation: a meaningless death for all. That's all there would be - death. That would be our hope - to die. To get off this rock so that we could cease to exist. To not have to persevere any longer through this life.
But if there is a God, (and I am without a shadow of a doubt sure of this through subjective experience, through objective moral reasoning, and through the revelation of absolute truth revealed in the Bible) than all of us should be worried. Worried that we will face a perfect, holy God who offered us purpose, and we rejected him for insignificance. This is why we must give our lives to the God of the universe. To have ultimate purpose beyond ourselves, and to not waste this life in the insignificance of ourselves.
In Him, we have purpose and hope. He offers it so freely when we give up our insignificance in a radical exchange for His significance.
That's grace.

seabroccoli "The really wonderful moments of joy in this world are not the moments of self-satisfaction, but self-forgetfulness. Standing on the edge of the [sea] and contemplating your own greatness is pathological. At such moments we are made for a magnificent joy that comes from outside ourselves. "
