sandyphimester ... I don't feel like describing photos anymore, it almsot always feels like a lie to me, personally I mean. I honestly don't know what most of them are supposed to mean, only that they do mean something, coming from somewhere or going someplace else... it's just tiring to say much, when you aren't even sure of it yourself. Anyway, one thing I defintely do know... spring is here, warmer weather is here to stay, and I'm really looking forward to things this summer. #hasselblad #film #kodakfilm #400tx 5d
  •   rawgrain Often no title is required. It's just a great image 5d
  •   americathebold Just post the image homie... it will more than speak for it's self. 5d
  •   10westimages That's why we are photographers our images speak when we don't have the words.. @sandyphimester 5d
  •   hamishgill I have to agree with much of the above ... I can so rarely be bothered with even reading people's guff about their photos, never mind writing my own 5d
  •   ___d.t Yes, just post. People interpret and see their own beauty in your work and everyone enjoyed something unique instead of you telling people how to feel. Just express and people will get it 5d
  •   aloha_bigmike Can always quote the Big Lebowski. That never fails. Or just use the word "neat". Neat is a great word. 5d
  •   cam_tography The journey (for an artist) is better than destination. People will always say a picture is worth a thousand words but a few words as to how an image came about can help set the scene and tone. 5d
  •   meg__wilson I read a photographer once (I wish I could remember who it was) that said when they were photographing they worked completely on instinct. Frequently they couldn't put into words why they made a photograph, and sometimes it didn't even make sense to them until years later when they saw how it fit in the greater body of their work. I feel like when I photograph and don't feel the need to describe/explain my images immediately on social media I can sometimes work from a more instinctual place. (And now I have spammed your Twitter *and* your Instagram! But it's a very interesting question to me- thanks for posting it. ) 4d

sandyphimester man, I love spring so much. smells like potential of all kinds. smile, the sun is out. #hasselblad 1w
  •   sandyphimester @zeiss87 we have had a nice spring so far, early bit of sun and heat earlier, but we also got a snow storm like 2 weeks ago. Haha 1w
  •   zeiss87 That's crazy. We usually just get ice down here. I would rather have the snow @sandyphimester 1w
  •   sandyphimester @zeiss87 haha, I get that. I like seasons. I just think ours lean too heavily on cheap weather, gorgeous summers and autumn here. But winter is too long, definitely. 1w
  •   prettycoolstufff Are you all right and healthy again? 1w

  •   great_alejandro Man. Getting to manually control a land camera must be dope. I'll stay over here with my 230 2w
  •   kingofallcosmos I was creeping on your Flickr just before seeing this and am so impressed by your fp100 shots. 2w
  •   chrisbodnarphoto Bananas good, sir! 2w
  •   codebeta Love the top photo...the pose 2w
  •   sandyphimester @deltacreep @devinblaskovich @great_alejandro @kingofallcosmos @codebeta cheers!! The Polaroid 180 is super fun to shoot with, it's just lovely, and I'm hoping like crazy that they keep 100c film around for a long time. Losing 3000b was hard enough, but no pack film ever for this camera? That would be just awful. 2w
  •   sandyphimester @chrisbodnarphoto thanks man, hope all is well with the family 2w
  •   chrisbodnarphoto Great here, thanks! Nuts busy on all fronts, but that's not a complaint! We hope you're doing swell, too! It's great to see you showing work again ... Easily one of my fav things to see when I scroll. Shooting thru rough times, no matter how uninspired, is always a good thing. :) 2w
  •   vivacarly These are great! I especially like the bottom one. I can't seem to get the exposure right when I use mine!! 1w

sandyphimester I haven't felt much like posting or working online lately, it's been a very emotional and tough past few months. But I feel like things are getting better... I have a lot of fun working on my photos, meeting great people. Let's make things. #pentax67 #kodakfilm 2w

sandyphimester I will always cherish this film and the times I've had with it. #polaroid #film 2w
  •   foreverfilm_markhayes It still hurts thinking about this stuff being gone. 2w
  •   sandyphimester @emaeder possibly! I haven't fully looked through all the film yet, from my other cameras, but I just might... I often do! 2w
  •   sandyphimester @great_alejandro definitely get some. As much as you can, within reason, shoot some, love it - and then save the rest for the special times! That's what I'm doing. Might buy a small stash in the summer before it disappears. I still have 28 packs but would like at least 10 more fresh ones for family gatherings and special memories. 2w
  •   sandyphimester @siegridcain @waztrel it depends how you're metering really, I usually meter for mid-tones or highlights (not extreme highlights), and meter for ISO 8000. My Polaroid camera has a shutter that is slower than the speeds you select. Just really old, so I have to compensate. But you should try starting at 4000 or 5000 ISO, and do it in controlled light, then you'll dial in exactly how to meter! I did that and most exposures I do are perfect. 2w
  •   sandyphimester @erinconger @aloha_bigmike @foreverfilm_markhayes thank you! I love this stuff, and I too am quite saddened by its death. I'm excited about @new55film though, 4x5 super awesome black and white Instant film. Not sure when it finally launches, but it looks fantastic. 2w
  •   aloha_bigmike I've been keeping my eye on the 55 project. Hopefully soon! 2w
  •   sandyphimester @aloha_bigmike I just need a back for it, but I'm waiting in anticipation! 2w
  •   aloha_bigmike Be stoked to see what you turn out with it 2w

  •   10westimages That's clean @sandyphimester 3w
  •   film_stagram Hell yeah 3w
  •   kasperkamph How do you think it compares to your Pentax 67 and Mamiya 645? Is it a worthwhile addition? Im asking because I own the same cameras and have been thinking about the Hasselblad for a while, buy maybe it's just gas 3w
  •   sandyphimester @kasperkamph sorry, late reply... Get one! After using only viewfinders for a while it's super fun and refreshing to use a waist-level Finder now. And composing square feels super cool, and just feels smooth. I'm super happy with my hasselblad, I never thought I'd like one so much but it's just too much fun to shoot. 2w

  •   evolvingimaging I've had a look through your photos and they're awesome! I'm a pro photographer in the UK who's just started out. I shoot digital mainly but I've just bought a medium format mamiya to have a go with it. I see your results here and they're just staggering. Even on 35mm on the Leica they're just stunning. I'll follow with interest and I'm already drawing inspiration from you. Thanks for sharing. 3w

sandyphimester thinking about creativity today... things fell apart for a while, no ones fault but my own, and I'm always going to carry it with me, but I'm shooting photos again and it feels really good. #leica #kodakfilm 4w
  •   jpinthedarkroom damn....so good man. 4w
  •   alveoli_photography glad to hear you are back in the saddle again 4w
  •   sandyphimester @kylesford Youxin is a great guy to send the Leica to! He's nice, and does a fantastic job! He worked on my M3 and M6. Love it! @davetameling yeah, it's a scary thought. I can only leave it so long, a temporary move away from it is just like a refresher to why I really love it in the first place 4w
  •   sandyphimester @jpinthedarkroom @alveoli_photography thank you, I appreciate it, definitely feels good to be taking photos again after a few weeks 4w
  •   rs79 It's my turn to be having a break away from it now. Not sure how long this will last 4w
  •   sjzand Sometimes for things to move even further it requires a step back, planned or not.. Glad that you're back sandy, you & your work are inspirational 🏾 4w

  •   matty_westside @rileyjoseph take some photos of her and just say you bought it for her 4w
  •   david_sievers_photography Nice work @sandyphimester . I don't know why I put myself through it but I always have this thought of...if I had to get rid of one, which would it be? I love my P67ii and 501cm but I have more of a connection to the Blad. I worked with Hasselblads back in the 90's. The Pentax is special, the images are amazing but it is heavy to take away with you, a bit of a pain to load and just doesn't have the same mechanical feel. Who cares really? Keep both. However I don't use either that much. I hope you enjoy the Blad, you have always shot such beautiful stuff with the 67. I hope you dig the square too :) Also as @veralux said, get the acutematte split screen. A lot easier to focus with than the standard screen in these older models. 2w

sandyphimester to be deleted. spent last night in emergency. let's just say the last 6 years of my life have been really unhealthy in some ways, too much drinking and other things. put me in the hospital and had lots of tests and pain killers and all kinds of stuff last night. Got home today at 9am, had a little breakdown and know that things need to change, it's been a rough couple of months and it all boiled down to last night. completely falling apart... But Already started putting the pieces back today. I only share because it's who Iam. 1mon
