Crema Run KATY Run!
runkatyrun Tagged by @squat2getfit for a #widn which is checking out my quads! I actually hate wearing shorts to workout (prefer leggings or capris) but I'm doing a fun run at my daughter's school later. I also used to hate my quads in high school because they were so muscle-y they were "too squared" above my knee, and now I wish I could have just a little bit of that back! Isn't it true that we always want what we can't have?? 1w

runkatyrun #tbt to the years 2001-2004 when I had just gained about 35-45 pounds from my college lifestyle. The funny thing is, back then I would have told you that I was healthy and that I probably just needed to run a little bit more. Now I'm down about 15-20 pounds from that but I actually look and feel so much better! 1w

runkatyrun #regram from the super cute @paragonaesthetics (she pulls off a double ️ better than I ever could! ) My April goals are pretty simple: Stick to #bbg1 despite the #deathbykayla feelings I may have! I'm really great at starting programs, but unfortunately my brain is really good at justifying why I should take a break or eat all the things - not this time, self! I will look hot in a bikini, dammit! Track my calories, and to a lesser extent, my macros. I'm so good about working out, less good about making sure I'm eating healthy. I want to keep myself accountable for what I'm shoving in my mouth. Read at least two books. I love reading and I need to prioritize my brain just as much as I prioritize my body What are your goals for April??? 1w

Normal Run KATY Run!
runkatyrun BBG 1.0 week 1 day 1. So I'm in decent enough shape but I know that the potential is there for me to be better. But I've had three kids and I'm in my 30s so it's harder for change to happen and it takes longer to notice results, which is why I've given up on programs in the past. I'm so motivated by the promise of progress, but motivation doesn't mean much without dedication, which is also why I need accountability and community to hold me to my goals and promises and to support me when they feel unreachable. My family is going to the beach in 12 weeks so #thek2movement came at the perfect time for me. I just hope I can stick to it! 2w

Valencia Run KATY Run!
runkatyrun Ab experiment. These three photos were taken moments after each other, same lighting, same clothes, same day, literally one right after the other. On the left, I'm not doing anything but standing up straight. In the middle I'm flexing and holding my abs in the contracted position. On the right I'm leaning backwards a little bit and twisting my hips slightly to one side. Really I was trying to figure out how to get the best picture but I thought by putting them next to one another it would be easy to see how a simple change in position can change the way your body looks. FWIW, I do one ab circuit every day, consisting of three sets of three exercises at about 12-15 reps each, which takes about 5-10min depending on which exercises I do. I do it right after warming up but before I start lifting. 3w

runkatyrun Worked out this morning and then went with the fam to DC where we walked around the memorials and monuments for ~3 hours (the 2 year old needed frequent shoulder rides but other than that the kids were champs!) We had a picnic lunch on the steps of the Jefferson memorial and had a really fun time! Outdoors, active, healthy, and educational! 3w
