rundebbierun Today's workout was another treadmill run--65 min at medium pace. I had to slow it down 45 min into the run, but then I picked it back up after 3 min at easy pace. Overall, I felt pretty good. I have one more key workout and strides this week.

I had a bit of a disappointing run yesterday at the #Horseshoe25K. I had to make the tough decision to stop after the first loop (~5 miles). I didn't finish my race, but I know I made the right decision to quit. However, what I did experience was a phenomenal run with a great group of #trailrunners. I'll be back to finish what I started next year.

rundebbierun Oh, boy. A simple workout--800m/1600m repeats at goal pace, which is easier than what I've been running--turned tough. First of all, it was hard to hold back and not run faster, and, secondly, the heat and humidity drained me. Even on this overcast day, it was just too hot! But it's over and done with. Happy dance! Tomorrow I have a 25K in these same conditions, but adding ankle-deep water to most of the trail. rundebbierun Last Wednesday I went to a form clinic to be analyzed. Today I started putting into practice what I learned--I hold my arms too high, which leads to scrunched up shoulders, and I need to lead with my knees to decrease the angle of my foot strike. It felt really unnatural holding my arms lower and it took a great deal of conscious effort. Practice, practice, practice. Today's workout was a 20-min AT run and 15 min easy.

rundebbierun Fancy. I ran this course last year in 1:23:21. This year, I went in feeling better trained and stronger. I did have to take a walk break during mile 4, but I think that helped just enough for my kick at the end, and I set a #10K #PR of 1:15:04!
