X-Pro II
pryan53 What is strength? A few years ago I would have said lifting heavy things or rendered some other pedestrian definition. Often I've mused, that it could be encompassed merely within the concept of endurance. Riding out blizzards in the mountains or trekking through the desert's inferno. Yet with each new foray into the harrowing wilderness I believe the aforementoned typifies grit and resilience more than true strength. Strength is deeper and myopic. Strength is a foundation from which these other virtues rise, forming the fortress, the mental and physical manifestation of our transient "being" in this reality we assume to be. Strength is when you feel like all the odds are against you and you not only go on, a fire roars out from the recesses of your heart and you think and act in perfect unison, and the idea and the action are coeval and one, and it i "I won't just endure, I'll prevail! To prevail through relentless, perfectly executed action, burying all your fear and calming down and operating logically when the coyotes howl in the dark effluvium among the trees, you drink your last water in the desolate Mojave and still have 4 miles to go, your body is broken from the travails of the trails and rocks, and yet fear and uncertainty well up in your heart but you dig deeper still and burn them out with the conflagration of the indomitable will to live, your fingers are freezing after taking your gloves off to fix a tent line in the winds that you know will cause frostbite in minutes but without the tent you will likely die, when the snow collapses your tent and you can't just drive out, you're hanging on for dear life with your weaker hand as a boulder falls and almost casts you from the mountain to certain death but you summon your all and you climb back to the top of the mountain and even in the adrenaline you see how blue the sky is and how wondrous the mountains and the valleys are, and even more woderous is that you still breath to write this because you summoned strength in that direst of times and you believed in yourself perfectly and unequivocally. I'm not strong yet, but I'm working everyday to become strong. "Who Dares Wins." 4w
