polkadotbride "William and I were relaxed and couldn't wait to see each other at the chapel. As soon as I started walking down the aisle, I realised that this was a room full of all the people we love and care for in our life. We took time to reflect on moments throughout the day, making mental notes of the overwhelming happiness we felt so we could remember this forever. "

polkadotbride "Libby Urban, our celebrant, has known Bree for many years having worked as a medical education and support officer at Nambour Hospital when Bree was a Junior Doctor. Libby was the surrogate mother for many of the the Sunshine Coast's medical students and newly qualified doctors and since becoming a celebrant has married many of them over the years! In fact we had two other couples whom Libby had married at our wedding. Libby has a very quiet and traditional manner, and our ceremony was full of meaning and was very personal"

polkadotbride "Everyday we both feel lucky that we have each other, our wedding day was a day that we could share our happiness with our family and friends. Our families had not met up until a few days before the wedding. It meant so much to us that we were able to spend time with both of our families together. In the lead up to the wedding we had alot of fun making the decisions together, I loved the look on Dan's face when we found his suit. "

polkadotbride "My favourite memory from our wedding day would definitely have to be walking down the aisle. Throughout the day I wasn’t nervous at all. I was extremely calm. This surprised me as I thought that I would be nervous or anxious. Then all of a sudden when we got to the church and I began walking down the aisle it all hit me! This feeling came over me that I can’t describe but I’m sure many brides would’ve experienced. It’s the feeling that you know this is it. You’re getting married! I walked down the aisle to ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perri and the one thing I will always remember for the rest of my life will be the look on Mark’s face when he saw me for the first time, standing there in my wedding dress with the veil over my face. It’s a look that I had never seen before and one I will never forget. "

  •   tracybradleyhairandmakeup Every single bride has that exact same story ...... more so are the men. They don't generally feel much leading up to the day, but women go over and over things many times beforehand. So the day comes, brides feel pretty normal and grooms get nervous. Even right up to the moment before leaving home, most brides feel quite calm. Then the ceremony comes, adrenaline surges for both, senses are heightened, hearts open, love soars and some religions believe this is a feeling close to God that one experiences. I hear it every time i work with a bride on her wedding day. This is why i see it as my duty to shift the focus to her, nurture her and align my feelings to her - so i can see it her way. All enabling me to enable her to be open, calm and feeling the best she's ever felt. I then know that I've delivered her to her partner looking and feeling absolutely beautiful . 6d

  •   emmaj18_ @polkadotbride great shot. I know the feeling and also walked down the aisle to A Thousand Years. My younger sister who was 12 at the time sang it for us. Just amazing 6d

polkadotbride Because that's just heaven on a teaspoon @brunyislandcheese

Once upon a time it was thought and said that our followers didn't want to see personal stuff, that it was boring. But the thing about Polka Dot Bride, is that it's my heart and soul and I want to connect with you, the dotties (our readers) over not just a picture of a bouquet but over the pictures of our world - like the incredible salted caramel sauce I've ever tasted.
Perhaps a strictly blog only feed is something much better left to those who do it well . But along with the patterned people , I am a lover of things that make my heart happy that I want to share. Laughter and snuggles, warm slippers and deep conversation, a lover of the sticky and messy parts of life (because it makes the good bits all the sweeter) someone who struggles with hard decisions and navigating this part of life and just a girl trying to find her way with a wedding blog that flew bigger than she ever knew how .. And so I bring you caramel sauce. X Ms Polka
