planetjumping synchronicity: these were literally my thoughts when I walked through the woods today and then I saw this quote. I also learned about the importance of giving. trees put forth just as much effort as they are given with the water and sunlight they receive so they can defy gravity. maybe I just made that but the point is you have to maintain a balanced cup. don't let it overflow with things you receive, give back. share your world with the world. 2mon

planetjumping defeating your demons is the beginning of your meaning, friend. 3mon
  •   planetjumping why would his skin color be "wrong" and how does this theory relate to racial differences? sociology shows that cultural and often racial differences are due to socialization rather than biology. I haven't studied Carl Jung so I can't speak on his beliefs but as far as this quote goes it seems to be a pretty universal human goal- letting go of the ego @sublime_insight 3mon
  •   planetjumping and by letting go I interpret that to mean the opposite of holding on to it. ego is necessary to being an individual but you can't let it become who you are. we have to realize that we are greater than that despite our racial identities. the ego holds on to that separation rather than focusing on connection and similarities 3mon
  •   kingrezso I liked this 3mon
  •   sublime_insight I don't particular agree with such a notion, letting go of the Self, that's letting go of the fundamental foundation which makes you who you. Racially people are predisposed to certain traits not only the physical is carried over from your ancestors. I'm a believer of embracing yourself, knowing and mastering all about and that comes with being ones-self. @planetjumping 3mon
  •   planetjumping I think we have two separate conceptions of "ego" and "self". when I say ego I'm referring to the physical aspect of our greater selves. when I think of "self," that includes but is not limited to the ego and it's development. self is our physical and spiritual selves, our higher being, or soul, encompassed in a physical body. (body, mind, spirit) the ego tends to attach itself to things and identities including the identity of self which can hinder spiritual growth. I agree that we should embrace ourselves, but often we don't truly know ourselves. so in order to discover our true identities, we have to let go of the false one that is taught to us throughout our development and socialization. I agree that if you grow up in a culture where you are taught to discover yourself from an early stage then this isn't necessary. but for most in the western world, we are taught to be disconnected from ourselves and hold on to a false "ego" @sublime_insight what's your definition of ego/self? 3mon
  •   sublime_insight @planetjumping I believe that the spirit is self. 3mon
  •   sublime_insight I believe that the consciousness is the spirit and the spirit is self. @planetjumping I suppose you can get the basis of my beliefs out of that, I'll be glad to expound if needed. 3mon
  •   sublime_insight I agree with you concerning the false ego. Many are hidden from their yourselves however this is because of things we grown accustomed or use too. They're things that you yourself don't particularly care for, you simply affiliate with these things or like them because you're use to it. And innately you know that whatever you're doing is not 'you' because you don't gain anything from it or it makes you sad to do it or whatever else reason. but most people are unhappy with themselves because they know it's things they'd rather be doing or in others rather not be doing because whatever it is-is not in agreeance with who they really are. @planetjumping 3mon

planetjumping s/o to the supreme power of unconditional love. the universal truth which illuminates lies. s/o to the good things coming and the shift in consciousness that allows us to realize that this ability is within each and everyone of us. and is the core of who we are and were meant to be. 3mon

planetjumping we tend to focus on external problems and blame everyone but ourselves for our situations. we may not always be "responsible", but often the solution is to go inside rather than look outside of ourselves. what reality are you creating for yourself? who are you becoming? 3mon

“We had a lot of trouble with western mental health workers who came here immediately after the genocide and we had to ask some of them to leave.
They came and their practice did not involve being outside in the sun where you begin to feel better. There was no music or drumming to get your blood flowing again. There was no sense that everyone had taken the day off so that the entire community could come together to try to lift you up and bring you back to joy. There was no acknowledgement of the depression as something invasive and external that could actually be cast out again.

Instead they would take people one at a time into these dingy little rooms and have them sit around for an hour or so and talk about bad things that had happened to them. We had to ask them to leave.”
— A Rwandan talking to a western writer, Andrew Solomon, about his experience with western mental health and depression.

Photo by @edkashi/@viiphoto: Everyday we enjoy the sweet taste of #sugarcane products in the form of candy, soft drinks, cereal, and more. But how often do you consider where that #sugar comes from, and how it affects those harvesting the beloved crop? A cane cutter, covered in soot and ashes of charred sugar cane, labors in a field that was burned the night before, in Chichigalpa, #Nicaragua. Fatal Chronic Kidney Disease of unknown cause (CKDu) impacts 68% of male sugarcane workers in some Nicaraguan communities. The film "Undercane" was published today on @NatGeo News. planetjumping is the sky really blue? 4mon
  •   planetjumping does that mean you see the absolute truth of the universe with objective clarity? @kiccdoor 4mon
  •   planetjumping yea I feel you. I think this is more referring to perspective as in you know your truth but because the universe manifests itself into so many different forms, your soul has only experienced its own view/reality, while mine has a different understanding of the world. so what is 'blue' to you is your absolute truth while my view may be more 'green' and I don't think you could say either perspective is wrong. your co-creation with the universe is also my co-creation. how can an individual branch of this universal tree claim to know everything without having experienced everything? on a metaphysical level, I agree with you. but as far a this physical reality, don't you think we all have our own truths and paths that we must realize for ourselves? my existence as an individual is limited to my vantage point in this creation. and while I understand that we are all one, I can only speak on my own truth without claiming to know the absolute truth @kiccdoor 4mon
