(Mr. Moo decided that if this scene was worthy of a photo, it would be even more so if he were in it. That’s Mr. Moo, always nonchalantly stealing the spotlight...)

  •   piccolotakesall @fac_610 Thanks, Bill... A bit heavy and hopeful, at the same time... I almost went B&W with this, because it highlighted the shapes/shadows more, but then I lost the layer implied by the orange firefighter’s coat. :) 2w
  •   kbasta This is so beautiful V - poignant and moving, clean and graphic. LOVE. ♡♡♡ 2w
  •   piccolotakesall @kbasta Thanks, Dear K. I'm glad you see it that way. 🏼🏼🏼 2w
  •   matthewcustar So, I've studied this image for the last 20 minutes and I've got to say the depth and meaning is incredible! 2w
  •   jenae28 subway tiles on the vertical... 1w
  •   piccolotakesall @jenae28 I’m not sure why they go vertically, but I have to say, I'm quite the fan, as well! 2d
  •   piccolotakesall @matthewcustar Hey, Matt... So sorry for the delay in response. Life... Well, you know... But please know, your words meant a lot to me when I saw them, and still do now. It's a rare honor in this age, to be able to capture the attention of anyone for more than a moment... So, for someone as talented and dedicated as yourself to have *studied* this for *20 minutes*? Well, that’s just unbelievably humbling. Thank you, deeply. 1d

piccolotakesall At first glance, @StephanGladieu may appear to be readied to jump out of an airplane or repel down a mountain... However, this bold-colored French photographer is shootin’ up the town for Le Figaro (@lefigarofr), the oldest, and second largest newspaper in France. He took a few shots of me “working” in the shop (I was horrible — I couldn't stop laughing! ), and I’m “paying him back” by posting this! To see what he was really there for, check out my post over at @ShaneConfectionery. #FRinPHL #discoverPHL 3w
  •   piccolotakesall @lmunjone Haha. Not sure lil' ol' me will make the cut, with all the other exciting places they visited! 3w
  •   kbasta what a happy smile this guy has! (swooning over his nikon) - and you work here? I didn't know! 2w
  •   batrayday Awesome!! So if they post the story online you have to post a link to it!! 2w
  •   piccolotakesall @batrayday I hadn't even thought about them posting online, but they just might. I have no idea when the article was going to be posted... They visited various organizations and places in the city, so who knows what will get published and what won't! If I ever find it, I'll definitely update with a link. 🏼 2w
  •   piccolotakesall @kbasta He was very friendly and definitely had a great smile. I've been working a Shane's since a few weeks before Easter (check my post from around then — I posted a mirror selfie in my uniform. ) 2w
  •   discover_phl Great shot! We were very excited to host Le Figaro Magazine in #PHL! What a great opportunity to showcase our great city all over the globe! #discoverPHL 2w
  •   piccolotakesall @discover_phl Thanks so much. It was fun having them stop by! I'm looking forward to the article! Do you happen to know when it will be published? 2w

  •   piccolotakesall @1_of_8 Thanks, Craig. When the door opened and I saw all the kids, I hoped something would turn out! 4w
  •   piccolotakesall @batrayday Unbelievable, right? And I've been sitting on other "finished" images for days, weeks, months, years, because I don't have a "good" title for them! Sometimes it’s good to post something in the moment that would have otherwise fallen through the cracks. Thanks, street-shadow master. 🏼 4w

piccolotakesall Independence of Mind (Nickel For Your Thoughts)
---------------
While at City Tavern, I was fortunate enough to catch up with the often elusive Thomas Jefferson! An aficionado of fine food and drink, Jefferson took most of his meals at City Tavern during the spring/summer of 1776. His well-kept notes reveal that during this time, he spent more on his Tavern tab, than he did on rent. I suppose that was the price he paid for independence!

  •   piccolotakesall @jenae28 Ha. Oh wow! Now I see you in a completely different light! Yet another piece of the Jenae28 puzzle! Did you ever call out any soccer-related knicknames to embarrass your son? My mom would call me Bigfoot! 1mon
  •   jenae28 oh we sounded like complete idiots...no name calling but more general stupidity such as...be more aggressive!slam him into the wall!take him down!score if you would like to be fed! 1mon
  •   piccolotakesall @jenae28 Oh my goodness!!! I can see some parental fights breaking out in the stands! Put any game in a hockey rink, and it becomes more violent! But your "encouragements" must have worked!!! 1mon
  •   piccolotakesall @nei.cruz Thanks, Nei. These guys were watching the older boys’ game. Hopefully they learned a thing or two! 1mon

piccolotakesall History Beers Repeating
----------------------------------------------
Benjamin Franklin was known to enjoy a beer or few while engaging in long tavern discussions of heady topics. @YardsBrewing Co., in collaboration with City Tavern, makes Poor Richard’s Tavern Spruce Ale based on a recipe he wrote while stationed overseas. In it, he called for “one pot of spruce essence and 13lbs of molasses”. Because of the high vitamin C content in spruce, similar beers were used by colonial soldiers and sailors to help keep them healthy, when their diets were poor. So, perhaps the old adage should really say, “a spruce ale a day, keeps the doctor away”! 🌲

  •   piccolotakesall @kbasta Next time you feel a cold coming on, drink up! 1mon
  •   piccolotakesall @fac_610 Ha. Thanks! I thought so! I'm hoping to grab one of these tonight at Grey Lodge. It's the first time they've had it on tap this "winter"! It's definitely one of my favorite beers. 1mon
  •   piccolotakesall @smallhaystudio Eiy yi yi... 1mon
  •   piccolotakesall @gummyting I try to school the peeps a bit when I can! 1mon
  •   amundj This one however has a more "natural" look, or pleasant in the way that it goes deeper down in the tonal scale. I like it a lot, and it does not look hdr, even though you may have done it that way 1mon
  •   amundj And clarity?...yes, I always use! Love it! A more subtle sharpener of sorts 1mon
  •   piccolotakesall @amundj This one was much more well-lit to start with, as you can see, with all the windows. I didn't have to do as much "salvaging" as I had to do with the one of the guy in the candy shop, which started out much darker. 1mon

piccolotakesall Historical Happy Hour
--------------------------------------------
We started off our evening with @VisitPhilly at the historic City Tavern, in Old City. Along with several appetizers (hello, award-winning crab cakes!!! ), we sampled all four* of @YardsBrewing’s Ales of The Revolution. Each beer is based on recipes recorded by the Founding Fathers, who were apparently quite fond of their drink. And I’m quite fond of their drinks, too! #visitphilly #CityTavern #yardsbrewing #alesoftherevolution: Washington’s#TavernPorter #JeffersonAle(Jefferson’sTavernAle) PoorRichard’s#TavernSpruce *Hamilton’s#FederalistAle (available only at City Tavern)
2mon
  •   kbasta huh! sounds fun. (I prefer super-hoppy IPAs...) 2mon
  •   piccolotakesall @kbasta Sounds like you spent too much time in California!!! Their beers are heavily hopped out there! I'm on the other spectrum. I prefer a smooth, malty or wheaty beer. None of these Ales are super-hoppy, probably because before hops became widespread in Europe, Ales were defined by their absence of hops. And the U.S., was of course, an outshoot of Europe. However, the Hamilton’s Federalist Ale, which I tried for the first time Wednesday, is definitely hop-forward, but not overly so. I was actually able to drink it AND enjoy it!!! 2mon
  •   kbasta Yep, they do like 'em hoppy there - here in the midwest too (Three Floyd's Alpha King / etc - yum!)... (I also prefer peaty in single-malt scotch, so maybe it's something about gravitating toward big/extreme taste over smoothness?) Federalist Ale sounds good! Cool to drink a historically accurate beer. :) 2mon
  •   nei.cruz Sounds fun! Enjoy!! 2mon
  •   piccolotakesall @nei.cruz It was fun! But we didn't have enough time to finish our beers!!! 1mon

piccolotakesall Liberty Resonates
“Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof”
----------
Last night, I spent a few hours with @VisitPhilly and some cool instafolks at the @NationalLibertyMuseum, where they have an exact replica of the Liberty Bell, forged from the original mold at the same British foundry as the original. We got the opportunity to hear the bell rung, and feel the vibrations with our own hands.

  •   piccolotakesall @lmunjone Thanks, Lea. She was moving around so much, there was no way to get her unblurred! 2mon
  •   piccolotakesall @batrayday Thanks, Josh. So glad! I wasn't sold on the tone, etc, the lighting really is so bad down there! 2mon
  •   piccolotakesall @mesworthy Thanks, Mike. She wouldn't sit still! Her parents were at their wits end! 2mon
  •   piccolotakesall @fac_610 The image is pretty funny. Glad you saw the connections/contradictions. :) however, I wasn’t laughing at the time, because her parents were clearly frustrated at their inability to keep her "behaved", barking orders and threats, but not relating to her on the level of an energetic fourish-year-old. Seeing that was a bit sad for me. :/ 2mon
  •   piccolotakesall @jenae28 Thanks, Jen. The girl was running back and forth, I had a hard time actually catcher her in-frame! It worked out better this way, anyway! 2mon
  •   piccolotakesall @matthewcustar Ha. Thanks, Matt. Undeserving of those terms, but I'm glad you like it. 2mon
