phutang My 2 year old keeps telling me that we should go on holiday so we can hire a sports car. When we reminisce about family holidays he remembers important details like "I ate a doughnut" and "there was a television at the holiday house!". Here he contemplates the joys of unhealthy foods and screen time while overlooking Lake Wanaka. 2w

phutang @thenerdcaveau Surry Hills is a clubhouse for nerds of all kinds, conveniently open every day from midday to midnight. As a card-carrying nerd myself, I am excited to see my people in such fancy digs.
Read more about them in the first issue of Be Papers - a lovely little mag put together by the super talented team at @weprintnicethings & @noodlesaccardo for @medibank.

phutang This amazing space is the Sydney De Dietrich/ Ilve showroom - definitely worth a look if you're in the market for some new kitchen appliances (or an entire kitchen if you're dreaming big). Styled by @cooledies @ilve_appliances @janefroshstylist @lucytweedstylist 3w

phutang We're going pot plant shopping tomorrow, but we now have new criteria: both plant and baby must survive when (note I do not say "if") baby manages to eat it. Once it was "that looks pretty" or "that should survive not being watered for a few weeks at a time". Oh the good old days. 3w

phutang On this day 6 years ago I was in #Osaka. This shot was taken from another damn ferris wheel. I think the lesson I need to take from all these unwanted ferris wheel trips is that perhaps I should travel less with Ellen, Ferris Wheel Aficionado. (Although, inconveniently, she organises all of our travel, so avoiding her may be tough). #filmisnotdead 3w

phutang For the last 10 years, I've had 70 rolls of film sitting in the top of the cupboard. This is the Eye of Paris, taken a few days after Ellen and I got engaged. #filmisnotdead #trix #paris #scaredofheights #hatedthisstupidride 3w

phutang An unexpected drawback of shooting digital is the perfection of every shot. The film images with light leaks, expired film, missed focus, and whatever strange error has happened here are my new favourites. I'm pretty sure these are from the Sacré Cœur. It was freezing, we were horribly jetlagged, but look at that view. C'est tres jolie @tattytl 4w

phutang I was at @localstorenewtown recently when I came across these beautifully designed candles by @bonluxcandles. Currently burning sweet smoke - smells as delicious as it sounds. Deftly styled by @gemmalush. 4w

phutang When my parents left Vietnam on a boat they left behind everything - their professional careers, their house, everyone and everything they'd ever known. They didn't know much about Australia, but they knew we'd be safe. My mum was 6 months pregnant with me when they arrived in Hobart - I can't imagine how overwhelmed and scared and relieved they must have been. Now I've got two little kids of my own, and I know I would also do anything necessary to keep them safe. Those children in detention could so easily be my (beautiful, hilarious, silly, clever) children. What our leaders are doing is really fucking disgusting. Those people are US. Those children are OUR children. This is important work, @peterdrewarts and @thedesignfiles, thank you. #realaustralianssaywelcome 3mon

phutang The famous spikey cucumbers. Anything we plant in this garden bed thrives, but never quite as planned. Tomatoes? Literally hundreds of them! Bright red on the outside, weird and powdery in the middle. Pumpkins? Turned out to be ornamental gourds. Our 2 year old, clearly disappointed by these crops, has helpfully suggested that we plant a tofu tree (or a chocolate tree). 3mon

phutang About a million years ago before I had kids, I travelled to Udaipur in India. At the time, this shot seemed pretty underwhelming. 3mon

phutang Oh this? This is just me hanging out in my fancy kitchen, thinking about what to cook for breakfast. Just kidding, that's Daniel from @agentlemansagreement in the amazing Wooloomooloo property he and his mates meticulously renovated (featured recently in Inside Out mag). @insideoutmag 3mon

phutang Have you ever been to the @shoesofprey website? Design your own shoes in literally limitless combinations. And I mean the old literally, not the new literally (which means the opposite of literally). They don't make men's shoes (yet!) but they do make women's shoes in men's sizes, if you feel like your man-shoe collection needs more glitter. 3mon

phutang This is another film shot from Mongolia. This was taken at the black markets. Our friends were pretty worried that we'd get ourselves into trouble (especially after our anglo-saxon friend's paradoxical brush with Mongolian neo-nazis the previous evening) but we returned unscathed. #filmisnotdead #trix 4mon
  •   foxheartco Mongolian neo-nazis?! I ran into some (not Mongolian) in London and Copenhagen...MOST terrifying experience of my life! 4mon

phutang When we got married in 2009, we started our honeymoon by travelling to Mongolia with our friends. I shoot mostly digital these days, but this was taken on a Koni-Omega 6x7 rangefinder. There's something beautiful about film that you just can't replicate. #filmisnotdead #trix 4mon

phutang We've got climbing plants at our house, too. But for some reason instead of flowers we have about 20 cacti-cucumbers. I didn't know spikey cucumbers were a thing until my garden was suddenly overrun with them. We've only sustained minor injuries harvesting, and they make great pickles. 4mon
