photographybyzahra Whether believed he's here right now or will be born. The Imam of our time is more than ready to appear. The question is...are we ready? Are we seeking his reappearance? Are we working toward his mission of unity, justice, and equality?
Oh Muslim Ummah the Imam sees and knows how we're portraying the religion of his grandfather. We should be ASHAMED. Let's start leading a Quranic, Muhammadi Islam.
The Imam doesn't belong to the Shia school of thought, nor the Muslim Ummah. He belongs to ALL of humanity. No doubts, just look around you...we need a divine human savior, be it The Mahdi or Jesus. We need to call forth a human savior. So let's start unifying, loving each other and ask The All Mighty to hasten the reappearance. We need them (Mahdi & Jesus) here, and fast.#timeforchange #weneedthemahdi

photographybyzahra Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan, Egypt, Syria, Somalia, Afghanstian...MUSLIMS. Israel...JEWISH. Kenya, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil...CHRISTIANS. Myanmar, India, Tibet, Combodia...HINDU & BUDDHIST.
See anything in common? HUMANS. Let's not blame a whole nation on their governments acts. Let's not allow these inhumane animals seprate our humanity. Stop the anger, stop the hate, stop the fight, stop the judging. How many times must we say this. It's getting really irritating.
We shouldn't be fighting for Shia+Sunni unity, we should already be united. We can't be selective about who to support and who not to, that's defeating the whole purpose. We're young, smart, and open minded. It's time we give the older generation their retirement checks...along with their mindsetAnd start bringing HUMAN back into HUMANITY. Yallah man.

photographybyzahra Excuse the messed up face. A beautiful soul stopped me today, and asked me what my dream was...so I told her. Check out her blog LINK IN BIO.
Zahra’s story:
My faith as a Muslim is the most important thing to me. The way I act, the way I portray myself, everything I do goes back to my faith. I love looking at the historic figures such as prophet Muhammad and Ali (Muhammad’s cousin). The way they acted always went back to religion and God. Islam is really misunderstood. With everything that is going on lately with ISIS, all of the violence and killing, some people think that’s what Islam is. There’s so much going on. Someone has to stand up. Even if I stand up alone I will stand up. Even if I only change one person it will be worth it.
One way I portray myself is by the way I dress. I wear a Hijab (the Arabic word for head scarf). Some people think that the reason Muslims wear Hijabs is because men such as our brothers, fathers, or husbands make us or that we do it because men cannot control themselves if we don’t cover up. But when you look back to the Koran, it says the reason for wearing the Hijab is to show submission and obedience to God. I used to wear tighter clothing but have now started wearing loser fitting clothes to show respect to God.
My biggest dream right now is to be a Muslim Activist. I recently started reading a ton of books and learning more about my religion. I’ve been doing a lot of social media such as Facebook and Instagram to get my voice out there. I am a photographer and have started doing some photo projects.
Also, I have started a volunteer group with some of my Muslim friends to help people in the community. This is my other way of changing perspectives. A lot of Muslims think they can only help Muslims. The first event we are trying to do is through an organization called Hands On Twin Cities. We would be sorting and packaging medical supplies that will ship internationally to hospitals.
As for dreams, no matter what, don’t give up. Don’t worry about how big your audience is. Even if you touch just one person’s life, it will be worth it.

  •   wissalxo I agrree , and so beautiful! 2w
  •   wissalxo Islam , as many people didnt know gives so much power to a women , the things ive found out about islam i swear they respect a women so much! Im not trying to be biased but im so happy i live in iran they look at women a diffrent way than arab countrys do, and recently ive read an article about a non muslim hijabi choosing to wear a hijab it more than just showing submission, it makes us equal with men , women cant expect being equal when they lower themselves by being just a piece of meat where a guy can just get somthing out of you, instead when a man talks to you and not be thinking anything other than they are talking to an intelligent human being and not somthing they can bag. Its a feminist religion. God doesnt say somthing for one reason, its so much more than that 2w
  •   mo_shaag I m too lazy to read but the picture said enough 2w

photographybyzahra Sometimes I look at all the amazing work my photography friends are doing. And I get depressed, because I wanna do the same. But then I remember our human rights are under attack, The religion of Islam is being hijacked by terrorist and oppressed by the media. Then I realize even if I'm alone, I have a job. To better myself, then try to better this world slowly. Because I can't depend on the next person. Because there's no time to waste. What will I tell my Lord, when he asks me where I was while people were being oppressed?

Photo I took at one of the human rights marches in Minneapolis.

photographybyzahra Let's not forget The Mother of The Hero of Karbala. She had her son for one reason, so he can sacrifice his life for the religion of Islam, and stand in front of his honorable brother Imam Hussein (AS) and defend him. And she didn't give 1 or 2 sons but 4 to defend the savior of Islam. What a character, what a Lady to look up to. The wife of Imam Ali, and the mother of the Flag Bearer of Karbala and lion. It was because of her, Imam Hussein had a brother beside him. May Allah sent our sallam to her. AsalmAlikee Ya Ummul Banin. 2w

photographybyzahra Little brother took his prayer outside today, for it was storming, and for some reason it feels closer to God on rainy days. *Pictures are decieving, he's a good kid..but has his days. May Allah guide us and the young generation to follow and represent the beautiful religion of Islam. And what's better than prostrating to The Creator. 3w

photographybyzahra Sallam everyone! Ahlulbayet T.V is bringing us a new live show, where we have the opportunity to ask Dr. Sheikh Usama any general Q&A.
We can email, call, and use a hashtag on social media to get our questions out there.
I'm pretty sure anybody can ask questions. So any misconceptions about Islam for non-Muslims or Shiaism for my Sunni brothers and sisters! Let's get educated! I'm so excited!

photographybyzahra Who is Fatima Al-Zahra? The daughter of the Holy Prophet, a woman that defines modesty and chasity. Who was put in such a high position that she was called the chief of all the ladies of Paradise. The most simplest, most respectful, absolutely the greatest woman to ever walk on this earth. Her devotion to God, equality, justice, and her love to others was outstanding. Who shared the same morals, high personality, and qualites of the greatest man, The Holy Prophet. Purfied by God himself: 33:33. A role model to every single one of us, be a man or woman.
But yet we don't know where she is buried, or when she passed hence the 3 different narrations. She stood up for what was right, but she was brutally murdered. A female that addressed a male dominate society.
I wish I can do more than just sit here behind a phone screen, and Insh'Allah we will in the near future. Ya Fatima.
