patchworkqueen Trying to decide whether this is a good or bad thing..... I feel they will struggle to turn my favourite childhood books into decent films. 1mon
  •   modernbasics I wonder if they'll 'modernize' the language? 1mon
  •   baldydoc Readin thr book to my kids atm- think they eould find it awesome 1mon
  •   mylife_101 Oh that's a 'big ask' to pull this off. Fingers crossed! 1mon
  •   patchworkqueen @joworimakes exactly! I will have to go and see it but what if their vision spoils the story. 1mon
  •   patchworkqueen @modernbasics I bet they go with the name Franny instead of Fanny like the latest book editions.... Really winds me up 1mon
  •   patchworkqueen @baldydoc fabulous books, but I think half the enjoyment is conjuring the worlds at the top of the tree up in your own mind. 1mon
  •   patchworkqueen @mylife_101 at least they aren't going down the Tim Burton route.... I just hope they respect the books and the amazing characters. I don't want a tinkerbell style Silky. 1mon
  •   mylife_101 At least Its a great opportunity for them to do it really well!! 1mon

patchworkqueen Just picked a bumper crop off of our vine.... This warm dry summer/autumn appears to have been perfect for grape growing. They even taste nice! First time in 16 years that we've got to eat any. 1mon

patchworkqueen I currently have 35 flowers ready to add in and at least as many flowers 'in progress'. Downton Abbey time is when I get lots of peace and quiet for hand sewing. #annamariahorner 1mon

patchworkqueen Carrying on with my Hexy flower making..... So much hand sewing, but I think it will be worth it for the end result . Maybe Honor Roll will be available in time to be added in #annamariahorner 1mon

patchworkqueen @trudi_wood I was working on my modern maples quilt at the weekend which I have incorporated quite a lot of browns into.... You will also see some Tula pink/ Lizzy house fabrics which are actually dark purple/ burgundy but almost look brown when mixed with the other autumny colours. Just an idea for you. 2mon

patchworkqueen Made a new recipe from #jamieoliver .... His new comfort food book is fab. This is winter chilli and all I can say is it's delicious!!!!! The 5 hours cooking the meat was well worth the wait. yummy @jamieoliver 2mon
  •   petitselefants Looks delish! 2mon
  •   blossomquilts Looks yum, although I'm on breakfast time. Is it a book after "save with Jamie"? I love that one. 2mon
  •   craftylittlefox Yes @blossomquilts it is. I haven't tried the chilli recipe te gas getting brisket here is not an easy exercise 2mon

patchworkqueen I'm loving my little corner of #annamariahorner loveliness! My husbands side looks rather boring - not letting him put his head on my lovely pillowcases though I might let him have some black pretty potent ones if he's lucky. 3mon

patchworkqueen More pillowcase making in progress..... Now I've moved on to making them from my favourite stashed fabrics. #annamariahorner #goodfolks 3mon
  •   sewjustinesew Which tutorial do you follow? The film in the fridge one? 3mon
  •   patchworkqueen @sewjustinesew yes I've been using the film in the fridge one. I have been tweaking the size slightly and using 27 + 10 + 1 3/4 rather than 26 + 9 + 1 1/2. 3mon

patchworkqueen Making her first solo fruit crumble..... I love that my 12 year old wants to learn how to cook on her own. Thank goodness that @jamieoliver has some great recipes for her to follow when she's being independant 3mon
  •   theoriginaltrash We have been banned from the kitchen while the proto-teen creates dinner. The spice drawer has been opened and we keep hearing "ooo!" and "hmmm..." and "Yep, that one" but the scariest was a slightly horrified "No, not that one." 3mon
  •   patchworkqueen @theoriginaltrash scary isn't it! My daughter wants to cook all the time but doesn't want help anymore.... I try to guide without appearing to interfere... It's so hard ! 3mon
  •   theoriginaltrash It isn't the way I would hv made it but my boy made spiced chicken wrapped in pastry accompanied by warm chickpea salad. All perfectly cooked and really well-seasoned. I get a real buzz knowing both my children will enter the 'real world' one day and be able to feed themselves. 3mon
  •   petitselefants That is so great to see! 3mon
