patchworkqueen I'm loving my little corner of #annamariahorner loveliness! My husbands side looks rather boring - not letting him put his head on my lovely pillowcases though I might let him have some black pretty potent ones if he's lucky. 2w

patchworkqueen More pillowcase making in progress..... Now I've moved on to making them from my favourite stashed fabrics. #annamariahorner #goodfolks 2w
  •   sewjustinesew Which tutorial do you follow? The film in the fridge one? 2w
  •   patchworkqueen @sewjustinesew yes I've been using the film in the fridge one. I have been tweaking the size slightly and using 27 + 10 + 1 3/4 rather than 26 + 9 + 1 1/2. 2w

patchworkqueen Making her first solo fruit crumble..... I love that my 12 year old wants to learn how to cook on her own. Thank goodness that @jamieoliver has some great recipes for her to follow when she's being independant 2w
  •   theoriginaltrash We have been banned from the kitchen while the proto-teen creates dinner. The spice drawer has been opened and we keep hearing "ooo!" and "hmmm..." and "Yep, that one" but the scariest was a slightly horrified "No, not that one." 2w
  •   patchworkqueen @theoriginaltrash scary isn't it! My daughter wants to cook all the time but doesn't want help anymore.... I try to guide without appearing to interfere... It's so hard ! 2w
  •   theoriginaltrash It isn't the way I would hv made it but my boy made spiced chicken wrapped in pastry accompanied by warm chickpea salad. All perfectly cooked and really well-seasoned. I get a real buzz knowing both my children will enter the 'real world' one day and be able to feed themselves. 2w
  •   petitselefants That is so great to see! 2w

patchworkqueen Turning into a very productive rainy bank holiday...... Just made a couple of pillowcases using a tutorial from Film in the Fridge. Worked perfectly, I'm sure I'll be making some more very soon. I'm thinking of flannel ones next. 3w

patchworkqueen Someone was very pleased that her big brother came out - she gets fed up as he tends to be 'too busy' for family days out these days. 1mon

patchworkqueen Working on a new cushion cover to go on my bed.... A little treat for myself. Also giggling at the piccies of my kids that are next to the sewing table - they may be a few years older now but they still have the same fun loving spirits 1mon

  •   blossomquilts Oh, you are in Paris! Go for a brunch at "Holly Belly", it's so yum! And go to "Marché st Pierre" for your fabric fix. 1mon
  •   patchworkqueen @blossomquilts I should have asked you for tips last week... Going home tomorrow. Had such a lovely time this week.... Although my feet are aching after all the walking. 1mon

patchworkqueen If you are in Paris go to St Etienne Du Mont right behind the #pantheon. So amazing ... This is the only 'screen' left in Paris and it's amazing. They used to go up there to do sermons.... The whole church is interesting and worth a visit. 1mon

patchworkqueen At the #pantheon today I was able to have a long conversation with my daughter about one of my female inspirations. I read about Marie Curie as a teenager and have found her life and scientific works fascinating.... Important to have female aswell as make role models. 1mon
  •   stitchoutsidetheditch ️we should all love Marie curie. 1mon
  •   hellofromcat My oldest went as Marie Curie to bookweek one year - she'd read a book about her, so figured she counted as a book character! We made a test tube necklace for her, as it was kind of tricky to come up with a costume. 1mon

patchworkqueen Weirdest thing we've come across in Paris so far is this pest control shop in amongst some cafés.... The right hand window is full of dead (stuffed) rats hanging from metal traps. #paris 1mon
  •   mjandco Just like in Ratatouille! 1mon
  •   patchworkqueen @mjandco I think that might be what it's all about we went on the new ratatouille ride at Disney yesterday so we've kept up the theme! 1mon
  •   jeaniehlm Love the title of the shop! 1mon
  •   relovedpreloved Looks very dramatic ! Pest control is a serious business 1mon
  •   helenangharad It's all a bit Diagon Alley! 'Destruction des animaux nuisibles'! 1mon
