  •   parlourcoffee @acrobatic_t we feel your pain - we have considered extending our hours, but many people (ourselves included) do not drink coffee after 5pm. Selfishly we like to enjoy dinner at home, or in the neighbourhood, at a reasonable time. 1w
  •   acrobatic_t I guess it seems a bit biased against downtown inhabitants since Little Sister in Osborne village is open later. One of the major platforms of this mayoral campaign was making downtown more livable for its inhabitants, so that implies to me that it's important to the citizens here. One of those livability issues were businesses closing prematurely. With that being said, Little Sister is also in walking distance from us so it's not like we're completely going without, I just appreciate the dialogue about this issue. Thanks foe the response. :) 1w
  •   parlourcoffee @acrobatic_t we love the Exchange / Downtown and have decided to be a daytime coffee shop. Since Little Sister Coffee Maker is in a primarily residential neighbourhood, it has different peak times that reflect the area. I (Nils) would argue that livability issues for neighbourhoods hinge on access to grocery stores, public transit, public green space, and safe cycling options. 1w
  •   acrobatic_t I agree those are issues we have, but it doesn't mean that everything closing at 5:00 pm isn't also an issue. 1w
  •   acrobatic_t Downtown may not primarily be a residential neighborhood, but thousands of people live here and are frustrated with having to leave their own neighborhood to access anything open after 5-6. We're frustrated with businesses in our own community that don't really meet the needs of downtown residents and won't take them into consideration. 1w
  •   parlourcoffee @acrobatic_t Although particular businesses close before 6pm I feel there is an inaccurate perception of Downtown closing early - I often find myself leaving my own neighbourhood destined for downtown after 7. You definitely raise some good points, and we will keep them in mind. The evolution of neighbourhoods can be a slow process, but I'm optimistic we are headed in the right direction. 1w
