paigepal So many people I've seen over the last couple of weeks have asked me this same question over and over again: "What supplements are you taking?" The question drives me up a wall because so many people think the supplements are the answer to their fitness/weight loss goals. Well, I'll let you all know, the number one supplement I take is SLEEP. That's right. I make sure I get my 8+ hours every single night. When you're sleep deprived, your leptin levels decrease, which slows down your metabolism. Being sleep deprived also makes you more hungry. By getting enough sleep, your body has enough energy to get through the day and you're not constantly craving a bagel and loaded coffee and red bulls for your body to have sustained energy. So make it appoint to get enough sleep! I have 3 jobs, I'm personally trained 3x a week, and I do cardio right now about 4-5 times a week some more lifting in between. Sleep is my number one priority. Every night before bed, I drink bedtime tea and make sure my work clothes are ready to go in the morning so I can sleep peacefully and don't have to rush (and maybe get 15 more minutes of sleep after my first iPhone alarm goes off ). paigepal Creamy Avocado Sauce Over Brown Rice and Zucchini Pasta 1 avocado
2 tbsp lemon juice or half lemon, juiced
3 garlic cloves
1/4 cup basil
2 tbsp EVOO
Ground black pepper (optional)
Lemon zest (optional)
Placed pitted avocado, lemon juice, garlic cloves, and EVOO in a food processor. Blend until smooth. Add chopped up basil and blend for about 10 more seconds. Boil and drain your choice of pasta and then simply toss the your avocado sauce over your pasta! Add black pepper and lemon zest to your liking I personally used a "veggetti" (Bed, Bath, and Beyond, $14.99) and made noodles with zucchini (about a cup). All you do is place the noddles in a skillet pan, add a little bit of water and cook them until soft. I also added 1/4 cup of brown rice pasta since I was low on my carbohydrate macros for the day. EAT ACCORDING TO YOUR GOALS . Enjoy
