os83 Just a small part of the amazing view from Chimney Top Rock yesterday afternoon. You can see the Red River and Highway 715. #redrivergorge #kentucky 2d

os83 Looking down from Whittleton Branch trail to a bend in the creek below. I know this is a bit abstract but I was struck by the light and texture at this spot and wanted to capture it. I hope you're all having a great weekend! #naturalbridge #kentucky #vsco 3d

  •   os83 @discerningpalate I loved these too. So different from all the other wildflowers. Have you posted photos of the ones you're talking about? 4d
  •   os83 @gin_nellist thanks Ginger! 4d
  •   discerningpalate No I was already debating. My trillium photo isn't a macro and especially after seeing this I might not lol. 4d
  •   os83 @discerningpalate I'm sure you're overthinking it. Something I know well, as I often spend quite a bit of time debating what to post, and easily convince myself that I have nothing worthwhile. 4d
  •   discerningpalate You're right. All the really great photos on IG that make me really look should be and are inspiring.....thanks for the reminder 4d
  •   os83 @discerningpalate you have at least one auto-like from me, I promise. And not just to be nice. I really enjoy your posts. 4d
  •   os83 @chase_thememories thanks so much 4d
  •   a_snapshot_in_time lovely shot 4d

os83 Last Friday at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary in Lexington. If you've hiked there before, you know there's a beautiful, cascading waterfall at the Evans Grist Mill site, where two streams come together. Thanks to our record rainfall this month, it was an especially powerful sight and sound. 7d

os83 Here's another demo clip of a song I've been working on lately, called "Electric Gold." I put the original version of this song on my Youtube channel 18 months ago, but since I'm making a new album, I want to record a new version of this that fits the moment. The photo is of budding yellow buckeye trees at Shaker Village. For my first album, click the link in my profile. For a bunch of other things including covers and the full form of these demo tracks, search for "Oliver Starks" on Youtube. Thank you all so much again for your support. It means more than you know. 1w
  •   sals_photos Double good! 7d
  •   os83 @sals_photos really appreciate that, Sal! 7d
  •   os83 @sharonkay99 thanks again 7d
  •   os83 @landofnirvana so glad you enjoyed it Carl 7d
  •   discerningpalate Nice sound and vibe! 4d
  •   os83 @discerningpalate so glad you liked it. Speaking of feeling self-conscious...I am utterly terrified about posting musical things because it means so much to me and I know people can be easily put off by video/audio in their feeds. It's a relief to get positive feedback. Validates the effort and emotion I put into it, to a degree. I would write songs anyway because I love music, but it's a lot more fun when some other people like what you're doing. 4d
  •   magdamayday Super 3d
  •   discerningpalate It's a built in problem for an immpatient society wanting here and now or else begone with you. But there are lots of us who would rather be touched regardless of the medium. And an occasional video and inspired music is a treat. Don't stop following your passion 3d

os83 One of the creepiest spots at Old Crow. I know this isn't what most of you follow me for, so I will probably only post a couple more of these shots here, and put most on my @sirsmollie account. Check that out if you want, and have a great day. #vscocam #vsco 2w
  •   stonejutah What's the back story? 2w
  •   os83 @stonejutah an old bourbon distillery, closed a few decades back. Or at least this part of the property hasn't been used since then. They still make Old Crow, but elsewhere, and I think Jim Beam owns it now. Same goes for Old Taylor, another abandoned place right next door. Except in that case, someone recently bought the property to fix it up. Not sure what the exact plans are. 2w
  •   os83 @zenger71 glad you liked it! See my comment above if you want more details 2w
  •   os83 @reebar thanks Marie 2w
  •   stonejutah Awesome great to hear the history 2w
  •   iluvnola2 Great shot Oliver!!! I enjoyed the history as well. 1w

os83 Bloodroot flowers along a trail at Shaker Village. These always bloom in early Spring before many other plants have leafed out, and take their name from the red sap, concentrated with toxic alkaloids, stored in their rhizomes. #shakervillageky #pleasanthill #kentucky 2w

os83 I promise not to make this a regular thing, but I felt like sharing (a bit more directly) a passion I have outside of photography. This is a short clip from a demo version of "Plan to Disappear," one of a collection of songs I've written and hope to turn into a second album by the end of this year. The photo is from the Smoky Mountains last summer. Thank you all so much for your support. 3w
  •   os83 @vjv I'll check it out, thanks! 2w
  •   os83 @Jessemonroe81 sorry for taking so long to respond but thanks for the kind words man, and I'd love to play together if we get the chance some time! Do you play guitar? 2w
  •   jessemonroe81 Guitar, mandolin, and love singing lead or harmony. 2w
  •   os83 @romanapoli thank you Magali! 2w
  •   os83 @gin_nellist I'm sorry for the late reply Ginger. Thank you so much again for all your support! hope you're well! 2w

  •   gin_nellist Hey Oliver never worry about a reply, with so many folks to follow it's hard to keep up sometimes. I'm doing just fine and it sounds like things are going well there for you. Take care and enjoy every day to the fullist. 4d
