oliinhk Behind the Changdeokgung palace lies the 78-acre (32 ha) Huwon (후원, 後苑, Rear garden) which was originally constructed for the use of the royal family and palace women. The garden incorporates a lotus pond, pavilions, and landscaped lawns, trees, and flowers. The garden for the private use of the king had been called 'Geumwon' (금원, 禁苑, Forbidden garden) because even high officials were not allowed to enter without the king's permission. It had also been called 'Naewon' (내원, 內苑, 'Inner garden'). Today Koreans often call it 'Biwon' (비원, 秘院, Secret garden) which derived from the office of same name in the late 19th century. Though the garden had many other names, the one most frequently used through Joseon dynasty period was 'Huwon'.

oliinhk Changdeokgung (Hangul, 창덕궁, 昌德宮; literally, "Prospering Virtue Palace") is set within a large park. It is one of the "Five Grand Palaces" built by the kings of the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897). As it is located east of Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeokgung — along with Changgyeonggung — is also referred to as the "East Palace" (동궐, 東闕, Donggwol).

oliinhk The temple was formerly known as Byeongpungam Hermitage (“Folding Screen Hermitage”) based on the way that all the rock faces are formed like a screen between the folds of the mountain rocks. But guessing, once the rock carvings of the Buddhas, Boddhisattvas, and guardians were etched into the face of the mountain, the name of the temple changed to its present name: Seokbulsa Temple, “Rock Buddha Temple.”

oliinhk Beomeosa Temple is located at the edge of Mt. Geumjeongsan, a famous mountain in Busan. About 1,300 years ago it was constructed by monk Ui Sang in the 18th year (678) of King Munmu (reign 661~681) of the Silla Kingdom (the kingdom mainly occupied the Gyeongsang-do Province region in 678A.D.). In the geography book 'Donggukyeojiseungram' the origin of Beomeosa Temple is written as follows: "There is a well on the top of Mt. Geumjeongsan and the water of that well is gold. The golden fish in the well rode the colorful clouds and came down from the sky. This is why the mountain is named Geumsaem (gold well) and the temple is named 'fish from heaven'." #Korea #Busan #Beomeosa 2mon

oliinhk Gamcheon Culture Village is called as Korea’s Santorini, another nickname is Korea’s Machu Picchu. Actually, there was used to be a sanctuary for Korean War refugees in 50s. The refugees stayed and settled in this neighborhood of Busan. Gradually there were more than 4000 residents and 800 houses in the area. Now, Gamcheon Village is a whole new place where the symbolic ladder-style constructions still remain.
