ninavizz I want to see Beyoncé wearing a svelte-cut tux on a red carpet, with Jay-Z in a silken Speedo. Yes, WITH bey-bey checkin' on Z's heiney, too. 17h

ninavizz Workin' at my desk while running a canner-load w/ an IP Camera app running on the 3Gs, and the pressure-gague viewable in a browser window on my 2nd monitor! #dork 2d
  •   roketboy Meth lab? 2d
  •   ninavizz @roketboy Canning tuna & chicken broth, bub! 2d
  •   roketboy Sounds like canning cat meth 2d
  •   ninavizz @roketboy Sadly, no. Ahi sucks for canning (duh)—can check that one offa the list. Regular Albacore steaks oughtta be greasier & much more kitteh meth-ier. :) 1d

ninavizz Looks more lik some wacky sci-fi seascape, than canned tuna! Really excited to see how the resulting food-product fared... #coldpack 2d
  •   fkhatibloo Do tell! Which canner do you have? My 16-qt Presto isn't cutting it anymore. I can't decide whether to spring for an All American or stick with the Presto in 23-qt size. 2d
  •   ninavizz @fkhatibloo Frustratingly dry (and grapeseed oil was a mistake!). Gonna try it again after salting the cut-up pieces overnight. I have a bigassed Presto (not sure what size)? See next post for my *awesome* IoT canning hack! ;) 2d
  •   ninavizz @fkhatibloo I'm honestly not that wowed by pressure canning. Frozen stock tastes better, and I have yet to can meat that doesn't end-up too dry. I'm not doig well preparing for my own future in homesteading... :( 2d
  •   ninavizz ...I also used Ahi (only the one jar's worth, just as a first experiment—was all my grocery had), which is super un-fatty. Going to try more favorable cuts of Albacore, next time. 2d
  •   ninavizz @tashabird and @fkhatibloo — you two, connect re: pressure canning & homesteading! Tasha, which Presto canner did you have and how're you liking the All American upgrade? See Fatimeh's question, above... 1d
  •   tashabird LOVE my American Pressure canner. It's rocking away right now. Wild turkey! Come get some. 20h
  •   tashabird I've canned stews and soups and did a wild boar raw pack. 20h

ninavizz Having a roommate for the first time in 5yrs has been a huge adjustment. So many bad "I live alone!" habits to break. I'm grateful that an established friend (with seemingly endless patience!) was up for the challenge of breaking me back in to co-habitation—and that she's done it with such kindness and humor.

The cute post-it drawings calling me out on Oscar Madison incidentals have been the best part. These two, discovered atop the dirty undies I'd left on the bathroom floor yesterday. 😇

ninavizz The loveliest sugar-skulls print I've yet found in flannel, and the seller won't be getting anymore in for a while! So perfect for my rice bag covers... totally bummed. 1w

ninavizz Sewists & crafties: the sprung steel thingy that keeps the pin-cushion on my wrist... I need to acquire many of these for a project, and a) Need to know what they're properly called, and b) Need to know where I can buy such a notion.

I've googled "sprung stay" and "wrist cuff" and "steel sprung stay" and "sprung choke stay" and every combo between, and have come up with nothing.

@andreaofaquitaine @threadnhoney @missdarkgarden @jessiep ...anyone, haalp? :D

ninavizz Party people w/ our most awesome instructor!
9mm tactical handgun classes happening on both ranges next to us, so it was a tad... loud.
4w
  •   danimalik And loud for miles around. I'm not a huge fan of that place, but I realize there aren't many places to shoot. 4w
  •   ninavizz @danimalik Ok, *we* were relatively quiet w/ our petite .22 rifles. The 9mm handguns from +100ft and a burm away, were however deafening. 4w
  •   ninavizz @danimalik ...I also think it's more than fair to require DB limits for ranges like this, so close to residential areas. Mon-Weds apparently is alot of police training, which could/should arguably be done at an indoor range that would muffle the sound more. It'd drive me nuts if I lived there! 4w
  •   tashabird That was great! Let's do it again. Archery soon too. 3w

ninavizz Ok, there just is NOT enough disposal of used shipping containers to merit the faux-upcycling trend that's getting a taaad old/pretentious. Coming from a gal who loves found type, that says A LOT.

Also: wow that's a lotta gas/current to have just cut all those up! #folksyfail

And yes, sucky image via driveby. #neuroticmuch
