nbcnews A grand jury chose Monday not to indict Darren Wilson, the white police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, on a street in Ferguson, Missouri, in August. Violence, looting, fires and gunshots erupted as anger broke out immediately. Go to NBCNews.com for the complete story. (Image: @sullyfoto / @GettyImages) #NBCNewsPics #Ferguson 3d
  •   chris_crossapple_sauce @mezekiwi92 I agree that respectful and responsible protesting is a better than destroying their own community. People are the most valuable resource a community has. If the community as a mass doesn't have access to individuals who set that example of how to manage emotions appropriately, then that is a lack of resources. Respect and responsibility are characteristics that are learned they are not innate. 2d
  •   nick__nack Obviously you all haven't been following the news.... These people didn't tear up their own town. The majority of the protestors and looters were outsiders from other places merely capitalizing on the situation. Rarely was a person that was actually from Ferguson arrested. Learn the facts ....@Linda.king.9440234 @joel_a_wolf @mezekiwi92 @tkaplan501 2d
  •   thebestalwayss Just because he was unarmed they don't tell the whole thing... He robbed a store and the cop and Michael brown and his friend that robbed the store wouldn't listen to the cop and mike brown go in a fight with the cop and mike tried to grab his gun and the cop pushed him off and shot Michael brown 2d
  •   gunnar_barr28 The officer had a right to shoot Brown because he jumped into a cop car, reached for his gun and tried to attack the officer. People have a right to use lethal force once the criminal possess 3 things. #1: opportunity: Brown had an opportunity to grab the gun and shoot at the officer and maybe even other innocent civilians. #2: Ability: Brown clearly had an ability to severely injure and kill the officer. #3: Intention: Brown was intending to harm the officer and trying to kill him. At this point, the officer has a legal right to shoot Brown. Even though Brown was unarmed, he clearly could've grabbed the gun, arming himself. 2d
  •   iamcathys @nbcnews they chose not to indict ? The cop was simply defending himself if you had are the law and ask someone to simply go to the sidewalk well I am not wasting my breath on you guys because you twist everything around I blame you for the unrest and how you present the news which is biased 2d

nbcnews Dorcas is hauling coal. With a 15% employment rate (yes you heard that right) kids are very often found selling on the street to help make money for their families. This was a HUGE problem before #Ebola. Now that schools are closed, many more kids are out on the street. It's a dangerous place for kids like Dorcus here to be, and not just because of Ebola. @morethanmeorg is going to build a boarding school for kids like her. We'll be here long after #Ebola is gone and #Liberia is out of the news.

  •   musamaheppell @meicka24 I'm not talking about slavery! I'm married to an English man so I'm definitely not angry at anyone! All I'm saying is in the bible God it says bring the children to me...they are innocent or treat them well something along those lines anyway! I have lost a dad and so many close relatives, I'm not Liberian but I feel for every individual going through such hardship! All I'm saying is let's help people who are actually doing work down here to help others, not just with prayers because that doesn't help when it comes to this kind of crisis! All the medical breakthroughs that we take for granted and have saved millions of lives was due to great minds working hard and progress made through action. If all of the scientists and volunteers stopped what they were doing and prayed all day, these lives wouldn't he saved. If we depended on a book written thousands of years ago instead using logical thinking and technology to solve world problems, there would be more starvation and disease. We all believe in different things..I respect your opinion but I don't agree with it! If God did exist he will judge my kind heart born without religious influence. My morals are based on experience and common sense, I believe in respecting each other, love everyone, do good, be compassionate to all living creatures & animals and peace with everyone! I do not need God to teach me this. Let's help Katie. 2w

As long as #Ebola is in #Liberia, it's a threat to our girls. We are fighting with everything in us to end this epidemic. nbcnews @MoreThanMeOrg was headed to pick up a patient from a hospital and transfer him to an #Ebola Treatment Unit but he wasn't there, I'm not sure what happened to him. I saw this 7 year old girl lying dead on a bench in front of everyone. The mom wasn't sure why she died. The healthcare system is extremely broken here and it comes at the cost of the lives of these children.

  •   claire__barbour @squeeker03 the point of the picture is to show how terrible the healthcare system in that area is... Not just in regards to ebola but because of the instability and lack of access to healthcare there is no way of telling how this child died. If the child died of ebola (which they must assume since there is uncertainty) then they need to wait until the Red Cross is able to come and remove the body. It is supposed to be heart wrenching, it is devastating how normal it is to have a dead body in the street. But the confusion about cause of death is why the body is laying there waiting for disposal and not being moved or touched by others. She is raising money for these areas and trying to express to people how devastating it truly is even beyond the ebola crisis but especially right now. The picture is not in poor taste, it is real and honest and this is the world we live in. I think you are misunderstanding the point of the photo as well as how photo journalism has impacted and aided the increase in financial assistance in many dire situations in general 2w

nbcnews The @morethanmeORG ambulance just received a call. We're going to pick up some #Ebola patients and transfer them to a Treatment Unit now. With very limited ambulances in Liberia fast transportation for treatment saves lives by #1 removing the sick from the community so they don't infect others & #2 getting them treatment ASAP. Some people have called for help and have had to wait up to 4 days to get someone to pick up their sick. We are grateful we are able to respond within 25 mins!
