myeditblog So @clydesrebirth was supposed to be here this weekend and that didn't exactly work out so now I'm just taking selfies and wearing her jewellery.. ie. It's just a boring, regular day... 5d
  •   susannarosenet Jen, I love, love your beach waves...how do you style your hair the get the look and can it be done fairly quickly? 5d
  •   adarling_adear Lookin hella good tho 5d
  •   katiev82 Oee love that necklace! 4d
  •   myeditblog @susannarosenet hmmmm... Mostly it takes practice? I use a high quality clip less curling iron (quality makes a huge difference), I make sure the barrel points down and I often let my hair go for days so it gets beachier over time;) 4d

myeditblog A little local #hamont #ff for you today. 1. @desmondandbeatrice Technically the bakery is TO based but they live in this fine city and Amanda has always been so sweet and supportive of the shop. And the baked goods are ️. 2. @afinemedley Seriously the prettiest floral Insta. Jessica's eye is also ️. 3. @rudyspaletas Amazing locally made treats for a hot day. She also took the time to encourage me recently which is SO sweet because she's only met me once for 37 seconds but she reached out just to be like #solidarity. And it helped. 4. @laurakonyndyk This lady is @julievanhuizen 's sister and so she already comes from a genetically stacked family of big hearts and beauty but she is also sooo talented with watercolour. And she does not toot her own horn enough, so I shall toot it for her! beep!!!! 5d

myeditblog Thanks for all your sweet words on my last post. They would have made me cry but we are not crying today! Sometimes I think I am not allowed to ever complain because I have so much support and love behind me but some days/weeks/months wear me down. But it's a new day, I walked to work (that's Gage Park, pretty eh?) and... I forgot my shop key. Matt to the rescue again. Solid start to a solid day 2w

myeditblog So today... for the first time ever (surprisingly), I called Matt from the shop and cried my face off. I've been stressed, tired and just so very over it. Sometimes it feels like the harder I work, the rougher it goes and it makes me want to throw a giant fit and say 'fine, I am done trying to make this place look cute and I am done giving a cr*p'. But I'm not done, and despite the fact that sometimes it feels like I am struggling to find the right combination to unlock the secrets of the retail world, I'm committed to this. I put on a fair amount of face (3.2 lbs of make-up really) tonight to hide those tears and I'll wake up tomorrow ready to get back at it. I think 'following your dreams' is some aspirational goal that people covet, but sometimes it's bawling on the phone and stressing about your rent. I will say of over and over... Starting the shop is the best thing I've done and the hardest thing I've done. Here's to Matt for listening to that messy cry, to make up for covering that messy cry and to tomorrow... when I'm totally NOT going to cry. 2w
  •   stitchcraftvintage I find so much comfort in your honesty and vulnerability about running a small business... I look at you and your shop and think, "if I could have it all together like Yen, if I could have her skills and good fortune with finding amazing vintage, if I had half the knowledge she does..." And here you are, admitting that sometimes it sucks and you're not always sure about everything, and you have no idea how much that helps me to know I'm not alone in my struggles and doubts and general impatience with entrepreneurship. I saw your most recent post and I'm glad you've come out on the other side this morning. Here's to supportive partners, choosing to dwell on the things that make this adventure worthwhile and joyful, and to having a good cry every once in a while. Also, I might send you a rambling email to continue these thoughts; you've between warned. 2w
  •   ljidia This will be my 18th year as a small business owner. It becomes part of you... Your baby! You have a wonderful sense of style and your shop is the cutest ever!! 2w
  •   myeditblog @stitchcraftvintage rambling emails welcome 2w
  •   _madalina_ Don't get discouraged, you are doing great! Stay strong and don't give up 2w
  •   alexmegan_ @mfat7 this is why I'm so inspired by you! Owning your own business - you are my hero! 2w
  •   joan_bertie_grubert Where is the shop located? 1w
  •   fayhallam We ALL feel like that sometimes. Most aren't so refreshingly honest about it x 1w
  •   urbancountrystyle You are so amazing at what you do! Just wanted you to know that I really appreciate you and all the effort you put into your business. And thank you again for the beautiful necklace. It arrived the day I received some not so great news about our thief being paroled. It took the sting out of it AND made me smile! You're the best Yen 1d

  •   myeditblog It's bone marrow and you are supposed to scoop it out..@house_of_ginger 2w
  •   house_of_ginger with the handle?!?! (clearly me no fancy.) 2w
  •   myeditblog @house_of_ginger you use both ends I think because you can get more marrow out with the thinner side? Not sure we did it right but we just acted like we belonged;) 2w
  •   shopsewrobyn I don't think I could do it! But kudos to you for giving it a go! 2w
