mrsannamarie || This is my haul from the #sparksfleamarket in northeast Kansas. I honestly didn't intend to get so many trays. At one of my last stops the vendor shouted out a deal I couldn't pass up so that added six to my haul. My best find was clearly the #vintagepyrex balloons bowl for $16. I was also happy to find the last Fire King "super fruit" mug that I needed to complete my set. -- If you're in the area you really shouldn't miss this #fleamarket. || 12h

mrsannamarie || There's always something weird at a flea market. This was "wild game jerky". I tried the elk but wouldn't even consider the kangaroo (or anything else for that matter). #sparksfleamarket || 13h
  •   eloiserobb Kangaroo is really good. It's rare and probably weird when your from America but living in Australia they're very common and people eat it a lot it's really tasty. I lived in America before Australia so I know what that would sound like but honestly it's really yum. 13h
  •   mrsannamarie @eloiserobb -- The vendor told me that kangaroo is to Australians as cow is to Americans. Was she correct? 13h
  •   _miss_jojo Why does this remind me of you @nickholden? 12h
  •   ewecreekcottage @mrsannamarie glad he liked the boar 12h
  •   jacksonvalley We really like elk meat at our house. We had a moose roast last week....I didn't love it. We'll always up for trying something new. 9h
  •   mrsannamarie @jacksonvalley - Where in earth did you get a moose roast from? And yes I agree, elk is good! There is an elk farm between here and Macon on 36 (used to pass it all the time back and forth between Truman State and home). 9h
  •   jacksonvalley My husband is a big hunter. He shot an elk last year in Colorado. The moose came from Canada, one of his friends went in the spring. 8h
  •   eloiserobb Yeah they are very common we actually cull them because they're a pest but we dont eat it as much as cow usually have it like a steak grilled on the barbecue but it's more expensive than steak because as you can imagine there's not as much meat on a kangaroo compared to a cow. But it's the only thing the aboriginals in the out back live off. But it is really good I thought it was weird the first time I heard it too hah @mrsannamarie 5h

mrsannamarie || Another collage from the #sparksfleamarket in Kansas. I ran to that #vintagepyrex hot air balloons bowl. It's been on my "list" for two years. A steal at sixteen bucks! And don't even get me started on all of the #vintagefisherprice I saw there. #fleamarketsaremyjam || 17h

mrsannamarie || I did some junkin' at the #sparksfleamarket today. It was a humid, muddy mess but it was worth it. I'll show my finds some time tomorrow (I need a shower and my bed pronto). If you're in the area they will be open the entire weekend. || 1d

mrsannamarie || I know it's the "grandma" thing to do, but I love using my vintage sheets on our cushions. I am definitely {{not}} traditional when it comes to decorating. Life is too short for that nonsense. #justcallmegrandma #vintageliving #housethrifted || 3d

mrsannamarie || Thank you all for the nice comments this morning. It truly warmed my heart. Turns out the orthopedic physician didn't think a wheelchair was necessary (like the urgent care doctor initially suggested). She has an "avulsion fracture" of the 5th metatarsal which means a ligament pulled away and took a small fragment of bone with it. She will be wearing that boot/shoe for at least 4 weeks but it is so much better than wheels. She is so thankful and so is her mama. || 4d
  •   jencee03 Oh wow. That is exactly what my daughter did on the 4th of July this year. She was in a tall boot for 4 weeks & then a shoe for 2. Now everything is great. I guess if you have to break something that's not too bad. Sending you lots of good healing wishes 4d
  •   mrsannamarie @jencee03 -- Crazy! How did she break hers? Mine went to a "tumbling" birthday party at a gymnastics place and did it on a trampoline. 4d
  •   lu_and_ed What good news, hooray! 4d
  •   sistergoldenhairvintage Great news!! 4d
  •   jencee03 Ouch! That sounds painful. Steph was walking in a parade & tripped on uneven pavement. Unfortunately both my girls inherited their mom's grace 4d
  •   mrsannamarie @jencee03 -- Haha! Yes, my girls don't stand a chance between my husband and I. 4d

mrsannamarie || Trying to be positive and keep a smile on my face in the midst of increased stress in my life. Particularly a fractured foot for my seven-year-old who can't figure out how to use crutches. And a city of 75,000 that doesn't seem to have child-sized wheelchairs available for rent anywhere. How's your Monday going? || 5d

mrsannamarie || I tried my first macaron yesterday. These weren't "fresh" from a bakery or anything but I gotta ask...Is the outter part supposed to be "gritty"? I was expecting it to either be soft or crispy, not "fall apart crumbly". It still tasted pretty good but sometimes texture does me in. (And FYI it's "macaron" not "macaroon"...I just discovered that myself ) || 7d
  •   mrstimmyt I do believe they all are gluten free as I think they call for almond meal. The macarons I've had are chewy but a bit crisp on the outside, sort of like a shell. Once you bite into them however, they're nice and chewy. Mmm 7d
  •   malayadee @mrstimmyt Is correct! All macarons are gluten free. (Unless the baker puts something in the filling that makes it not gluten free.) Macarons should be crisp but chewy. Sometimes they may be a little gritty, depending on how finely ground the almond meal was. Mine usually come out gritty because I don't sift the big particles out. LOL 7d
  •   mrorange416 I'd love to try one! I don't know where they sell them around here... 7d
  •   mrsannamarie @mrorange416 -- I found these at TJMaxx of all places. 7d
  •   mrorange416 ok! I'll look there! 7d
  •   seekingsmall Yep! Almond flour (finely ground almonds). I'm planning to learn to make them this spring. They're what I usually request for my birthday "cake." 7d
  •   mrsannamarie @seekingsmall -- If you learn, I'll pay you to send some to me. 7d
  •   ilovejustin81 Should not be gritty!!! Do you have trader joes? They sell them, still not as good as buying them fresh but they work! 1d
