mistergrub DT. Pakistani Food. Chicken Boti Kabon ~ Boneless Chicken Kabob that is marinated overnight and charcoal grilled. If that amazing orange hue doesn't cause your mouth to water a little than I don't know what will. Not only does this dish catches your attention with its color, but the flavors surpasses any expectations you have for a good kabob.

The boneless chicken breast is cut into cube and marinated in tier special sauce. Starts will a yogurt base, chile and different spices. The color you see is from the saffron. It is charcoal grilled to order.

When you cut into its, juices is just oozing out. One of the juiciest chicken breast you can have. Take a bite into this tender piece of meat. You get the nice charcoal flavor that just enhances the marinade. The chicken has a slight sour tart from the the yogurt. Then comes that wonderful bold spices kickin in. As you think it's over, the subtle heat from the chile wraps it up nicely. One of thee best kabobs hands down.

mistergrub Sammy Time! Bub's Italian Hoagie, By far my favorite Italian Hoagie I've ever had. And 1 of the biggest you can have. Here's what is in this Italian Beast:

Genoa Salami, Prosciutto, Capicola, Pepperoni
Aged Provolone, Pecorino Romano
Arugula. Roma Tomatoes
Hoagie Relish (sweet heat pepper relish)
Mayo, Bubs Vinaigrette

There are no complaints here. It may seem like there's a lot going on here, but all works out perfectly. 1st off the freshly baked roll is crunchy on the outside, soft n chewy on the inside. Once you take that 1st bite, you instantly takes cured meats haven. You can taste each one distinctively. You may think Oh man thats a lot of salt going on. But thats why there are all the condiments. The arugula dressed in the vinaigrette cuts through it with its peppery bite. The fresh roma cuts through it. The relish 1-2 combos it with its sweet n spiciness. The aged provolone sharpens you up. Everytime you get hit with cured salty meat, the other ingredients brings you back. All equally balanced out. Oh do you see the thinly stringed shaved pecorino romano? Once it hits your mouth, it instantly evaporates.

mistergrub Taco Tuesday! Tacos de Chivo ~ Goat Tacos. One of the best tasting piece of meat you can find inside a taco. The goat is deep n rich in flavor. As you can see the goat is easily pulled apart. When I say it has a nice juicy n semi melts in your melt texture, I mean it. Step out of your tacos de carne, pollo n al pastor. Try some chivo! 3w

mistergrub DT. Belgium Food ~ Eastern Shore Mussels. Happy Hour is thee Best Hour! For $10 you'll a big pot of Mussels! The flavors are a tribute to Maryland Eastern Shore.
The mussels are cooked with Budweiser beer, Corn, Red Potatoes n Sausage. The beer's bitterness plays well off of the briny sweetness from the mussels. The corn adds sweetness to it. Sausage gives it some fatty fat salt element. OId Bay Seasoning makes it MD. And the potatoes are just hanging out soaking up everything. Now that you know whats in the pot, can you imagine the flavors forming up in there? The sauce makes you grab some bread to soak it up.

I took a piece of bread, dipped in to the sauce and top it with a mussel. A perfect bite. The mussels are fresh n sweet. I'll then take the mussel shell to scoop up some of that sauce to have a nice shot lol. Whats left is a pot full of mussel shells and no sauce.

mistergrub DT. Ethiopian Food ~ Shekla Tibs. Beef Lovers come in! Chunks of Ribeye beef sauteed in Liquid Gold! The word Shekla comes from the plate that this dish is served in. It is served a clay vessel. Tibs means any meat that is sauteed with vegetables.
The ribeye is chunked up and toss in a skillet with some liquid gold. The liquid gold is the aka of Ethiopian Clarified Butter (Niter Kibbeh). The butter is made up of a assortment of spices and aromatics. Cardamom, pepper, cumin n turmeric to name a few. Ginger, garlic, n onions are a few of the matics. To say the butter is addicting is a understatement. Then the ribeye turns into tibs when Red Bells, Jalapeno, Onions n Rosemary joins the skillet.
Grab a piece of meat with the injera(Ethiopian Flatbread) n surprise! You'll burn your mouth because you couldnt wait. Lol. The Clay Vessel keep the meat piping hot. But the burn is all worth it ;). Butter/skillet crusted the crispy layer of the tibs. The meat is juicy n moist. Not only do you get beefy flavor but the haymaker from the butter thrown at you. It gives the tibs a smokey like flavor. Butter n Jalapeno knocks in with oh so spicy song. Onions winks at you with the subtle sweet touch. And to wrap up the flavor is the touch of Rosemary. Cuts the bold n spicy flavors with a permeative flavor. Now whos down to eat some Ethiopian food????

mistergrub Jamaican Food ~ Coco Bread+Beef Patty Sammy. I remember going to 7-Eleven as a kid was like going to Toys r Us. Excited for a Slurpee n Candy(if i could sneak onto the register). But on a day when I didn't want any sweets, I tilted my head up n laid my eyes on these golden yellow cushion shape pastry. I was curious n my curiosity got me hooked. I'm sure all knows what a beef patty is. But if you don't think savory turnover.
Coco Bread=Bread with coconut milk or some sort of coconut in it. It's a soft n pillowy 1. The filling of the beef patty has ground beef mixed with aromatic spices. And that shell, man I love seeing that golden yellow color. Due to the egg yolks mixed into it. First bite will have at Mmm Mmmm. The coco bread has a nice sweetness. It counteracts the savory n spiciness of the beef patty very well. Once your teeth past the pillowy wall, you will hit flaky shell town and finally land in spicy meat ville. The crust is amazing. The filling hits you with curry n other spices. The best thing about it, is the creep heat. I'm sure most had a beef patty before. But have you guys had it with coco bread before?

mistergrub Sammich. The Real Obama ~ Italian Beef Chicago Style. If I can't get it in Chicago, this is the next best place to get it. By far 1 of the best sandwich I've ever had! Everything from the bread to the meat n the condiment are PERFECT! They're great by itself here perfect together.
Beef- The brisket is slow braised in italian seasoning and other seasonings. Served Thinly slice.

Giardiniera- This is a Italian style pickle. Consist of Carrots, Celery, Bell pepper, Hot Pepper and Califlower

Look at how big this sandwich is! Had clutch that baby from the top n open my mouth as wide as i can. Bite into it and a symphony starts to play. I mean everything was working in harmony. The bread had a nice soft chew to it. Age Provo had great sharpness to it. The beef which was sauced with its own Jus was moist, juicy and amazing beefy flavor. The Giardiniera will hit you like a mack truck! All of the veggies pickled perfectly. Texture=CRUNCHY! Has a AMAZING Bite/Heat to it. If you're in Washington D.C, go to Bub and Pop's

mistergrub DT. Modern American ~ Roasted Duck Breast with Wild Dirty Rice n Orange Gastrique. Oh lets get ducky n a little dirty today! Lol. Any duck lovers in here? *raises hand. I love duck, grew up eating whole roast duck(hanging behind the glass at the Chinese restaurant). The duck cooked here is completely different than the Chinese version, but just as luscious and rich. Think duck is more of a intense meaty flavor of dark meat chicken.  It is laying on top of a bed of wild rice. Even though its called rice, it is not(actually a grass seed). The Duck is nicely roasted and seasoned well. Can you see that golden duck skin? Hmm Crisy Skin *que Homer Simpson Drool*. You cant be dirty rice without that chicken liver in there! To finish it up we have mirepoix(celery, carrots n onions), chicken stock and seasoning. Both are nicely greeted with a drizzle of Orange gastrique. If you don't know what that is, pretty much a sauce that is made of caramelize sugar/honey n vinegar to make a balance sweet n sour sauce. In this one orange is used. Think of a consistency of syrup.
Bite into that duck n you hear that skin crack sound, your heart just moves a little. That medium rare duck is moist/juicy/tender. Spoon up some dirty rice and its a texture party! The rice has a chew to it and it has a nutty taste to it. The liver is subtle in flavor which gives the rice a added element to it. I smear that duck in some gastrique n gave that duck some accessories! The tang cut some of the fattiness the duck brought. But brings you right back in with its sweetness. All in all this dish was a ball.

mistergrub DT. American Food~Crab BLT Sammy with Zucchini Fries. When its stupid hot n humid you kinda don't want to eat anything that is hot hot. Give me a ice cold beer and a cool summer sandwich like this. Who doesn't like a BLT. Simple n good. But if you throw in some lump n jumbo lump crab meat with garlic bread that sammy is "turnt up!" Lol.
The crab is lightly tossed in some mayo. At he back end of it, you get a hint of taragon(licorice/star anise like flavor). Plays well with the crab. The garlic bread is garlicky n toasty goodness. Take that bite and the 1st hit is that crunchy soft bread. The cold tomato n crab salad contrast perfectly with the bread n bacon. The spring mix takes some of the heaviness the bread n mayo could bring. The zucchini fries were crunchy n salty with a burst zucchini flavor. And guess what? $7 dollars!!
