misstamchiak Joyden Treasures at Kallang Leisure Park has got comforting flavours of home. My favourite is the lobster noodles with ginger and spring onion. The ee-fu noodles is cooked in crustacean broth and topped with chunks of fresh lobster. Belly happy 5h

misstamchiak Having coffee break at Coffee Break in Amoy Street Food Centre. Run by third generation young kopi hawkers, we saw them at Heritagefest over the weekends and decided dropped by today to grab some toast and coffee. Besides the traditional coffee, they also serve modern coffee drink like sea salt caramel latte. Their wholemeal toast has interesting fillings like earl grey creme or homemade black sesame paste. 1d

misstamchiak Yesterday, we visited the National Museum to support the hawkers at Singapore Heritage Festival. Excellent festival as they recreate Singapore's 1960s street hawker scene and invitied many young hawkers to serve our best local food.
Thankfully, I am able to retrieve these images because my phone has been throwing tantrum since yesterday. It keeps restarting and most of my photos are gone. Sigh. Looks like I need to get it replaced really soon.

misstamchiak We were recommended by a reader to try Nyonya Curry Puff Cafe at Blk 274 Bukit Batok selling all kinds of handmade curry puffs including curry chicken puff, sardine puff, lemon tuna fish puff, mutton curry puff, roti boyan puff, vegetarian ku cai mushroom puff and even durian puff! A Peranakan recipe, each puff is freshly made in the shop. The skin is flaky and crispy on the outside yet juicy on the inside. 4d

misstamchiak Happy Saturday! On a hawker food trail today around the west. Our first stop is Blk 640 Bukit Batok, which is 3 mins walk from Bukit Batok MRT. Xiang Mei roast meat is highly recommended by many foodies. They still use charcoal to roast, hence you get that mild crackling skin with juicy meat. Their roast chicken is also decent, but char siew is not their forte lah. Complimentary bowl of soup for every order! 4d

misstamchiak So glad the weekend is here and I can finally take a little breather. Breakfast with the husband this morning at Gen Shu Mei Shi Shi Jia in Toa Payoh. Both of us were trying to go on a low carb diet but obviously, it's our cheat day. Still very much in love with Gen Shu's yam cake and glutinous rice. Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

misstamchiak After one year of intensive studies, I HAVE FINALLY PASSED MY TOURIST GUIDE EXAMINATIONS!
The journey is not easy, there are so many instances I want to give up. I fumbled when being questioned about the trees we see along the road and I even failed my theory MCQ exam once (tikam also can fail). Last week, I was not hopeful when I got my exam itinerary (Botanic Gardens / Zoo) while I was in Philippines. I didn't perform as well as I expected but I really tried my best. I don't really want to be a zoologist nor botanist, I just want to show our Singapore food to the world by having delicious food tours.

Thank you to my classmates for always being so encouraging and giving me all the help I needed. Thank you to my aunty and uncle for insisting that I need to complete the exam. Thank you to the husband for waking up early and accompanying me to run through the attractions over the weekend.
Now I can openly tell everyone:
HELLO, I AM A LICENSED TOUR GUIDE AND I AM GOING TO DO FOOD TOURS!

P/S I am very tired, please give me 2 days of rest before I start replying emails.
