milk_thistle It's International Women's Day! As a mother of a daughter, I hope that I can lead by example so she has the strength to know her self worth and her capabilities. She already knows her own mind, so I don't need to worry about that! My own mother was (and still is, I might add) a wonderful example of a strong and capable woman. She still inspires me with her verve and 'grow bold, not old' attitude to life! My amazing sister too, is a beautiful example of a woman who has the courage and strength to raise her own gorgeous daughter with special needs. GO WOMEN!! 3w
  •   rainyg56 Now you got me all teary again!!! Yay and praise for all my gorgeous girls. So proud and lucky to have you all in my life. You, in turn are my inspiration. We need each other. We're our own circle of love and support. Happy happy happy! 3w

milk_thistle Our cocoon hatched!! This is Ruby's bug catcher. Nearly 2 months ago we caught a big green caterpillar munching in the gardenia leaves. We caught him and fed him fresh leaves, and he ate and pooed and ate and pooed like a champ for a week or 2. Then he stopped eating, shrank, turned colour and started forming itself into a cocoon. It was so amazing to see this process slowly unfold! Anyway, that dark brown cocoon sat there on the table for weeks, not moving and then today, abracadabra out came this beautiful moth. I missed the birth unfortunately, it was a very quiet affair. It is a Bee Hawk Moth and now happily flying the skies after we released it. Ruby wasn't entirely happy about letting it go, saying "But if we let the cocoon go, we won't have a pet anymore." 3w

milk_thistle Surprisingly delicious salad! I wanted something light, as I already ate some lunch at my Mum's, so in went some grapes, cucumber, smoked chicken, sauerkraut and sunflower seeds. Quite an odd combo, but I am loving it! So much I might even make the exact same thing for lunch tomorrow! 4w

milk_thistle Me and my monkey, laying under a tree in the backyard. We were taking some rubbish out, and she ran and grabbed a beach towel from the laundry and said let's sit in the shade here. So glad we did, instead of just going straight back inside to get on with things 4w

milk_thistle Not bad! The mix is mostly brown rice flour, polenta and flax meal. I added eggs, your choice of milk, choice of oil (I used half butter, half coconut oil). The box suggests to then add your choice of healthy add-ons, eg. spinach and fetta, bacon and cheese. We added some leftover roast pumpkin, baby spinach, bacon and some grated cheese. Quite nice! They are a bit grainy (from the polenta), but I can comfortably give these to Ruby for breakfast even, and know she's not eating over-processed junk @iquitsugar 4w
