meowcheng It rained right after our 2nd survey today to ubin. Luckily the rain came later if not we would be drenched in the middle of the forest. Phew! 4mon

meowcheng Super star of the day.

This is my dear nephew with the Knobbly Sea Star which was spotted by Jackie, one of our mentor. Alan is trying to take of photo of this super star as shown in my previous post.

Was amazed by the size of this sea star. An adult knobbly can grow up to 30cm in diameter (from 1 tip of arm to the other). Spotting of this super star of Chek Jawa is quite rare. Let us all do our part to conserve energy, reduce waste and reuse so that our next generation can still see this super star which is listed as 'Endangered' on the Red List of threatened animals of Singapore.

meowcheng This is Alan, one of our mentor, who has in depth knowledge of Chek Jawa, its eco systems and the creatures and plants living there.

He is trying to take a picture of a super star which we had spotted moments ago.

Will be uploading the super star later. Stay tuned. :)

meowcheng Took this while standing on the rocky shore, with the 1.1km walkway standing tall, facing the seagrass lagoon.
A rich variety of amazing marine creatures shelter in these seagrass meadows during the low tide.

meowcheng Staff vs volunteers.
Looking forward to be qualified as volunteer for the guided tour in Chek Jawa soon!
In the meantime, need to do lots of reading and on site visits!
