melodymakhfi I, like a lot of us here, have had a history of acne and although I don't often get new zits, I do have evident hyper-pigmentation from old friends I picked at So what does that mean for me now? Well I don't normally go out without at least some concealer or some sort of makeup to cover the scarring and I'm just sick of doing so. So I decided to find a natural remedy. Most of us know that olive oil is good for our health, but not many know about its ability to heal the skin. So I wanted to create an all natural, olive oil based nightly moisturizer to rub in on these troubled spots. I combined two big spoons of coconut oil which you can find for like $4 at Trader Joe's, a tablespoon of olive oil which is rich in vital vitamins that makes the healing process of acne scars faster, is full of antioxidants, which keep toxins at bay and prevents infection, has anti-inflammatory properties that are necessary for curing acne and its scars, and is non-comedogenic (which does not clog pores), a teaspoon of freshly squeezed lime juice which will speed up the process of vanishing scars, and a dash of vanilla extract just to combine with the coconut scent to smell even more yummy. Whip it all up, and store in the fridge to harden up a bit and stay cool for a fresh feel during application! I am also using Frank Body Balm on all other body parts for now and plan on making my own exfoliating scrub later too with brown sugar and honey so stay tuned! 3d
  •   laur3nf4rrell Naturals the only way to go! So much better to cure troublesome issues instead of just a temp fix :) 3d
  •   foreverkimmi yes! please let us know how it works! i have the same problem 3d
  •   melodymakhfi @foreverkimmi Will do! I've heard so much about just Olive oil and lemon juice for this problem, if you don't wanna do all the rest just rub a combination of those two onto your troubled spots with a Q-tip and you should see a huge difference after a couple weeks! 3d

melodymakhfi There is s great possibility that within the next few months I will have the opportunity to move into a newly renovated home with my two best friends and boyfriend. I can't explain how warm this thought is for me. I've been religiously looking up DIY wood projects and already have the kitchen chandelier picked out which I know all of us will have a blast creating together. A step towards independence and adulthood. An incredible anticipation knowing I'll get to come home each and every night to my three favorite people. I cannot wait to get in the kitchen to make vanilla scrubs, balms, and candles for the common spaces and I can't wait to string together old/new photos to hang across a wall of my new room. I can't explain how giddy I am at the thought of endless sleepovers with Kyle, cooking escapades with Michael, and decorating everything with my interior aesthetic twin Alex. Fingers crossed that in a couple months, I'll be Instagraming from my home in Union City. 5d

melodymakhfi My best friend's mom is having an ugly Christmas sweater party tonight...I couldn't find an ugly sweater so I logically texted my best friend asking if I could just show up without any makeup and be ugly overall instead. 1w

melodymakhfi “Picture yourself when you were five. In fact, dig out a photo of little you at that time and tape it to your mirror. How would you treat her, love her, feed her? How would you nurture her if you were the mother of little you? I bet you would protect her fiercely while giving her space to spread her itty-bitty wings. She’d get naps, healthy food, imagination time, and adventures into the wild. If playground bullies hurt her feelings, you’d hug her tears away and give her perspective. When tantrums or meltdowns turned her into a poltergeist, you’d demand a loving time-out in the naughty chair. From this day forward I want you to extend that same compassion to your adult self.” 1w

melodymakhfi We got this thrifted Canon goodness. The original receipt is in here and it belonged to the original buyer, Theodore in 2005 who bought this for $700 with a buncha photo paper. Idk who Theodore is or was, or why he gave his amazing device up, but I just wanna say thanks SoCal man, because now I'm looking forward to documenting everything with this thang. So always make sure you find something to look forward to. A cup of coffee tomorrow morning, wearing your favorite sweater this week, a phone call from your family, knowing you’ll see your love on Friday. Having something to look forward to can mean all the difference between a shitty week, and a marvelous week. 2w

melodymakhfi Making #islandstyle a thing. When you're at a bar ask for it. Basically whatever drink you want in a champagne glass with a cherry. Yup. I'm awesome. 2w

melodymakhfi Nobody aside from my girl @ciarracarr will relate to this post, but I'm putting it here anyway. I haven't had a single moment with this whole #lsat business in the way to do anything of the creative sort. And now that the exam is out of my life, the creative goods are creepin' back in...and apparently all at the same time! I've been scribbling vanilla/coconut body scrub recipes, reading/researching, and book-marking favorite pages from my "Forest Feast" vegetarian recipe book (I'm only looking at the cocktails at the moment) and I don't think I've ever been so content just sitting in my bed Oh, and Kyle if you're reading this... I won't even lie, I haven't showered simply because I don't want to take the watch off. So thank you again (Fun fact, all through middle school I got picked on for my scrawny arms/wrists...go on) 3w

melodymakhfi I have this thing where every fall I end up obsessing over one of my pairs of boots and wear them literally every single day no matter how many other pairs I have. This fall, it's these bad boys. They arrived today and I'm already struggling to take them off. All hail #jessicabuurman 3w

melodymakhfi To the photo that started it all. The first photo we took together during the first few nights we spent hanging out. It's silly looking back to such a short time ago and remembering how we tried hiding our faces in this, so people in our senior project wouldn't find out about us since I was the project manager But man am I thankful for that project, because it gave me more than an A in a class, more than a recommendation for law school, it led me to you. This picture was taken about a year ago now and I'm so thankful for everything since then. I'm thankful you held my hand after our first "date" (putting it in quotes for only reasons you'll know) because that very move, and the fact that you stole a kiss I was willing to give back, assured me whatever that driving force was, would be different. And it has. So I broke my cliche "no kissing on the first date" rule, but now I'm yours, and you're mine. We've spent a month traveling the world together, seen new places, learned new things, we've made each-other crazy, we've laughed, I've cried, and we are continuously growing with one another. So here's to how thankful I am for you, you little shit. 4w
