megan_morton Enamel basin in green. Featherstone-esque chairs (that come with my upholsters number!). Antique wall scones. Party gear for days. Paper pompoms. Florists supplies (bud vase jars by the box full, jam jars aplenty). Boxes of white plates. Platters and fabric for backgrounds for food stylists from $1. Designer clothes (last year we had Chanel, this year Easton Pearson, dries von noten, Marni) and as I know what it feels like to come late to the garage sale party with other Saturday commitments, we will reset for afternoon visitors. Saturday only. 2/85 Dunning Ave Rosebery. It's a real garage sale - no styling from us and no haggling from you- just severe bargains. We are part of the Sydney City of Sydney garage sale happening nation wide. (And if your in Tasmania, best you check out Mona's David Walsh sale. megan_morton I could post the corners and details and nuances of this picture for days. What I do need to tell you is @theschoolinstagram has our first full-day Shibori class - with a reverse bleaching technique in March 2015 (and another beginners class this November). We have bought more shapes and pipes and its all systems go to get more members into our #indigoappreciationsociety. Last Sydney class for the year and 2015 classes now up on theschool.com.au website. (And if you buy someone a gift voucher for a Shibori class for Christmas your voucher comes shiboried!) 1w

megan_morton Known as 'mineral blossoms' these are Brazilian sourced quartz and citrine with copper interventions by artist and phd genius @pippycar. I can't wait to show you what we are working on with @spacefurniture for this festive season. Please don't plan any serious gifting for your special people until I can show you these 4 highly beautiful, limited-ed things I have curated with my cleverest of design friends for @spacefurniture. Soon. #investmentgifting #notabaubleinsight #wallporn (@dionhorstmans had done a Christmas 'tree' but not as you know it! #gahing) 1w

megan_morton Maybe the new test of a rooms colouring and overall success is that it can't be adjusted or take Instagram filters? Susan Harte, your sitting room with its citrine carpet is perfection in real life. (From page 14 of my book Things I Love) #nofilters 2w

megan_morton My Brancusi obsession peaked perfectly with the #takeaseatforlegacy challenge. Pulling apart a beloved bentwood was counter-intuitive but the 'chair' now is a 20 piece home-kit proposition! It includes 2 coat hooks; 1 mirror (with 3 hanging options); a medley of mobiles (ideal for hanging off the end of curtain poles); 1 cane carafe; 5 candlesticks; 1 vase beaker; 1 porcelain keyring; 3 necklaces; a set of penguin classic novels and salt in a beautiful wabi sabi porcelain salt cellar. Oh there is also a bag of kindling for the first at-home-fire! A true one-off, the live auction is wed night and happens over at templeandwebster.com.au, all proceeds to Legacy. And like all good styling outcomes, it was collaborative. I commissioned @kazmortonceramics for the beautiful porcelain interventions; @brydie_brown for the harmonious fabric vessels and Phil Skelton my set builder for the gruesome cut down. #sorrybrancussi #reductionandaddition 2w

megan_morton For those dreaming of a swimming pool in their own backyard this summer, I have 3 things to offer from my own pool-ownership experience. 1. It works when you have lots of friends in the street. A good pool, in my opinion, is a busy pool. Casual swimming is a pack sport. 2. It works only if your husband is happy to spend at least 5 hours a week min on pool related maintenance. 3. You must pick a colour that will help best reflect the sky. The end-water colour depends on the state of the sky - not just the tiles or lining. (On that note did you know that France's last PM restricted pool lining colours, semi banning bright kindergarten blue as he hated flying over the South seeing such unnatural blues dotted along the coastline). My pool pic by @smartanson. My tiles were super soft grey / green as I wanted it to present with all the gums as a little slice of rainforest. 2w

  •   markmoffitt Daye is hounding me for one! The pond is painful enough I say @megan_morton 2w
  •   chrispywilson wow - 5 hours a week minimum? We've has a pool for years and love it. Switching to saltwater when we renovated it has helped reduce maintenance. We would spend less than an hour a week and get a pool guy in once a month to give it a once over which is cheap as chips. 2w
  •   megan_morton We put ours under trees (stylist rookie mistake!) and we had dead animals and trees and so much leaf! @chrispywilson 2w
  •   megan_morton @jessicabelief how did you go yesterday? What is the bump in looking like 2w
  •   bendoftheriver Such good tips! Our pool was hideous Aqua, painted black 30 years ago. It's rubbed off over time (usually on feet) and is so beautiful now. 1w
  •   sophiehgbaker You forgot to mention the importance of ivy @megan_morton green all year round, perfect backdrop and no leaves fall into the pool. Xx 4d

megan_morton Best way to describe the selection at my Garage Sale next Saturday? Some things could be on First Dibs, other things should be at the Sisters of Mercy and everything else inbetween. Jielde yellow floor lamp, 2 large french armoire libraries, antique silk rugs, original Saarinen table, vintage metal beds (and a very special antique metal bunk), Missoni towels (and not for Target!) jars (event stylist perfection!), frames, paintings, decorations, platters, antique French wall sconces. Even Anya Hindmarch handbags x 4! Loot, props, fabric and furniture. Plus lots of my friends also having tables at my Garage Sale. Our oversights = your steals! At The Studio, 85 Dunning Ave Rosebery. Next Saturday 25th Oct, 9am. 1 day only. It's going to be a glorious upcycle jungle out there! #garagesaletrail #stylistloot #decoratorboot #cashandcards 2w
