mckmama77 He finished in under five minutes and only got one wrong. 2y
  •   mckmama77 (He doesn't know how to do long addition or subtraction. He did this all in his head. "Mental math". He was mad that he got one wrong, so then he crossed out his answers for all of them and gave himself 0%. Poor perfectionist boy, there is too much of me in him.) 2y
  •   louisejessie my oldest does the same thing. MUST have everything perfect 2y

mckmama77 He's ahead a grade in math at school but it still isn't "hard enough" for his liking. So he's doing a speed test right now...trying to complete this in three minutes. 2y
  •   vaughnmom Oh ha! 2y
  •   vaughnmom I thought maybe you created some genius plan to get dressed in your school clothes the night before 2y
  •   jaimemichelle @mckmama77 that's amazing. 2y
  •   mckmama77 @vaughnmom Don't go giving me awesome ideas like that! I'm liable to do them. :) 2y
  •   vaughnmom I'll follow suit! Little wrinkles never killed anyone 2y
  •   mrsellenlandreth My nine year old nephew sleeps in his school clothes a lot! Days it helps him have a better morning. lol! 2y
  •   mrsellenlandreth *Says 2y
  •   mckmama77 @ellenjustice when I just had three and then four kids, I'd bathe the kids and dress them in their next day clothes and put them to bed all the time if we had something going on in the morning. It kept me sane. 2y

mckmama77 Shampoo. 2y
  •   treadingwater @mamasarah Yes. It's the only way I've been able to keep it under control. I'm going to try the vinegar though bc I read that's supposed to help too. 2y
  •   erthornton @treadingwater @mamasarah it helps alot. If you have open sores on your head I suggest having a wash cloth that you can bite down on because the vinegar burns pretty bad. The baking soda burns too the first few times. I don't know if what I have on my head is actually psoriasis though. I always forget to ask about it when I'm at the dr. I've had it since I was a kid. When it would get really bad my grandma would rinse my head with vinegar mixed with tea tree oil for a few days and it would get better. 2y
  •   nessyvonne5 The amish near us used vinegar as conditioner. How well does the soda work for dry hair? 2y
  •   tiaelyse So how(what) would this work with colored hair? Like for say blue and purple hair? Ha 2y
  •   katychristensen @mckmama77 I have tried washing my hair with baking soda since I saw this and it left my hair dry and straw like. Am I doing something wrong? Does the vinegar help make it softer? @erthornton any advice? I have psoriasis on my scalp and face as well 2y
  •   erthornton @katychristensen you have to rinse it with apple cider vinegar to make it not straw like. You also only need to wash your hair every other day or every third day. When you wash it mix 1tbs baking soda into 1 cup of water. Make sure you pour that part only on your scalp as much as you can. It can get on your hair but you're mostly washing the oils and such off your scalp. Scrub it in some. Then let it sit for a minute. After the minute make sure you rinse it really well. More than you think you need to. Then pour a mixture of half a cup of apple cider vinegar with 1-2 cups of water. It just depends on how strong you can take it. Most of the time you want to pour that on just your hair and do not get it on your scalp. Once a week though you want to pour it on your whole head. Including your scalp. When you use the vinegar let it sit on your hair and finish washing your body. Then rinse your hair again. For a long time with cold water if you can stand it. If you can't stand the cold water then you can use warm. The cold water just helps the vinegar rinse out quicker. It should help your hair not feel like straw. 2y
  •   erthornton @katychristensen I'm not sure what to do about it on your face. 2y
  •   katychristensen Thank you so much @erthornton !!!! That makes much more sense! I will try again:) 2y

mckmama77 In my world, it's perfectly acceptable to glean inspiration for a color scheme in your house from a Skip Hop backpack. 2y
  •   soeveryday I've been inspired by a bowl, a trivet and a kid's hat. Why not a cute backpack? 2y
  •   mckmama77 The blue of the backpack is actually a little lighter in real life and the blue of the back hall is actually a little darker. But you get the general idea. :-) 2y
  •   mamarockthat Cute! 2y
