markryan_chariker the Met is one of my favorite places to draw and to sit and think. I go at least once every 2 weeks and interact with the same paintings over and over again. To be able to do this over the course of many years has been incredible. Sketch is from a Castiglione painting of St. Francis. @metmuseum 5d

markryan_chariker Just started this little painting. Sometimes there are these weird moments early in a painting where its tempting to stop because something catches your eye, and if you keep painting it will be lost. This is one of those moments for me. 2mon

markryan_chariker Found a way to keep my brushes suspended safely in a solvent solution without the solvents evaporating. No more damaged bent brush tips, and if left in overnight the pigments just fall off the bristles leaving it perfectly clean by morning. 3mon

markryan_chariker Spent nine months on a painting only to then hate it, let it sit for 3 years then cut it into pieces. I threw most of it away, but used these scraps to line the inside of this trunk. 4mon
