  •   margo_kane @niedajimenez I used to struggle a lot with this pose, straightening my legs alone was painful for me so I started to spend a lot of time working with this pose in my home practice. I'll hold it for a couple minutes in almost every home practice I do. I also try to get in a long hold of some type of hamstring stretch each day. Dolphin is an intense shape for the body so there tends to be a lot of stiffness around it. It will ease up the more you do it, thanks for asking! Have a good night 4d

margo_kane B.K.S. Iyengar talks about the goal of a steady yoga practice in his book Light on Life. The reason for the practice is concentration, the ability to calm the mind enough to actually BE where you are. Wherever that may be, and without judgement. Our minds are like the sea.. tumultuous at times, but always with the promise of change. The ocean can't go right from a state of choppy to tranquil, there are states of movement in between.
