manmadediy I found my old Kodak Brownie Starflex when digging through boxes this morning. I'm definitely not nostalgic for the days of film, but I'm kinda itching to use this thing again. 4d
  •   mike_loveland I feel the same. The convenience is too great with digital + good filters but I also don't want the film option to die. 4d

manmadediy This isn't my workshop, but I wish it were.
It's a reproduction shop from the 1880s, producing period furniture and goods. They use no power tools or electricity, and only natural light from windows. #ZOMGHandtools

  •   chrs.prkr What's that in the upper left? I working on boozy things myself. Got a nice fat batch of Meyer Lemon bitters infusing away! 3w
  •   manmadediy @chrs.prkr It's "light" Belgian candi sugar. It gives the yeast a little more to munch on without having to add more malt and increase the body of the beer. Are you sharing the bitters? I'd love to get a taste of those :) 3w
  •   chrs.prkr They're for my wedding in June as favors for our guests. We'll be bottling them in dram bottles with dropped and ideas for use since most won't know what to do with them. I can email you and send you some if you'd like. It's been a lot of fun to make 3w

manmadediy Favorite #DIY trick: always buy those $3-5 vintage steel tool boxes, tackle boxes, and lunch pails at the flea market or secondhand shop. You can use them for all sorts of tool and project storage, and they look way sharper (and last longer) than modern plastic ones. 4w
  •   mariahdanielsen We've got a bunch of these at my antique store.. Never thought to stock pile em for a rainy day. 4w

manmadediy Chop your own wood and it will warm you twice.
Stack it up in a pile and make it look nice.
Store it to the left of that rad vintage vise.
And if you try to move that anvil, your back will need ice. - Henry David Thoreau... Oh, and Chris Gardner :) Happy Friday. Go do something awesome.

manmadediy It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air, that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit. —Robert Louis Stevenson 2mon
