luz1055 I am excited to see these Ochre Seastars making a comeback in #MontereyBay after the wasting disease. This pier has a special place in my heart. My Dad, a proud #Coastie was stationed on the USS Lamar back in the day. This One's for you Daddy 3d

luz1055 100% natural. Sea anemones amaze me with their variant and vibrant colors. Found this one in a tide pool this morning while I was #beachcombing and #seaglasshunting Perhaps somebody or someone from @MontereyBayAquarium can identify this for me. That color tho UPDATE: Two types of microscopic algae live in the anemones' tissues and give them their green color—anemones without algae are white. The algae supply food to the anemones, and the anemones bend toward or away from the light to provide the algae with the proper amount of light needed for photosynthesis. {Thanks to @allmyfriendsarefish for identification} 1w
  •   luz1055 @sealifesc15 They just totally intrigued me. Yesterday I went to pick up a piece of Seaglass off a rock and realize that it was in the mouth, if that's what you call it, of an anemone. It won 1w
  •   sealifesc15 @luz1055 wow that was a great find.,how fun !!!Aislomar. Horseshoe beach has a lot of them in the tidal pools. Thanks for sharing your photo 1w

luz1055 HISTORY ALERTIf you've seen the last shot I shared, i've become intrigued with the history of this breathtakingly beautiful area. So much so that I went to the library in Pacific Grove to learn more about the man who pretty much single-handedly beautified this section of shoreline. His name, Hayes Perkins, and what an incredible man he was. Thousands visit this area during it's blooming season. It is used in publications, signs, everywhere. Personally, I see the Magic Purple Carpet and think "Pacific Grove"!! I don't believe many realize the beginnings of this portion of Pacific Grove and its history. I've been enlightened. Mr. Perkins kept a running diary of his world travels in this six volume set and can be found at the Pacific Grove library. Enjoy! I did 2w
  •   luz1055 @raghuvir you must. It is the most beautiful area and the fact that one man pretty much single-handedly created the entire Gardens is beyond me. He has to be commended🏼🏼🏼 2w
  •   chefpepecarmel Wonderful! :) 1w

luz1055 Couldn't resist snapping these beautiful Ice plants on the beach. I love #Spring 4w
  •   raynarush5465 These plants always remind me of the house that your family and Grandma and Grandpa Storey and Eyrie lived in. It was on a hill, with these ice plants all over the hill side. There are only a few things that I remember about that house...it was 2 story's, maybe 3, it had a swing set out front, grandma Storey made us silver dollar size pancakes, and you were so mad that all of us cousins wouldn't stop talking one night and go to sleep. LOL! 3w
  •   luz1055 Yep!! That would make sense. All along the coast you can find these beauties @hanglidr 3w
  •   luz1055 @raynarush5465 that would be Hidden Hills. I was a cranky Auntie wasn't I? Hehehe! 3w
  •   evitaart so pretty and sunny they are! 3w

luz1055 Just imagine becoming the way you used to be as a very young child, before you understood the meaning of any word, before opinions took over your mind. The real you is loving, joyful, and free. The real you is just like a flower, just like the wind, just like the ocean, just like the sun.Don Miguel Ruiz.. I've been spending a lot of time with my fingers in the dirt. I love the outcome! what are you planting this year? #Succulents have become a major love of mine this year. 4w
