luseboy One of my half shafts had bad u joints. They didn't have play, the grease was just 40 years old and was more like cement so they were really stuck. Fought with them for a bit and then gave the airhammer a shot and there you have it. #240z #s30 #garagebuild 10mon

  •   luseboy @ptero they're actually not bad to remove. These are original to the car and i don't think they've been re greased once in the last 40 years, and they weren't THAT bad. The air hammer really made quick work of it. 10mon

  •   luseboy @zcardude its way easier than it looks. You can check them without taking anything apart. I'd try taking them off and pumping some grease in them first. 10mon
  •   zcardude I have all 4 control arms and struts off the car any way finishing up poly bushings and coilovers painting every thing as I go 10mon
  •   luseboy @zcardude Might as well do it if they're bad. Rock auto sells the spicer/dana u joints that everyone reccomends, they're like 30 bucks a piece though (need 4 per car) 10mon

  •   luseboy @zcardude might as well leave them in that case. One thing to consider with cv's is clearance with the rear sway bar but it can be worked around. 10mon
