  •   micah_dare_williams Unrelated, but what engine did you put in your 240Z? @luseboy 1mon
  •   luseboy @micah_dare_williams it's basically the same engine that came stock in the 240z's, but I got one out of a 280zx. It's 2.8 liter instead of 2.4, and updated in other ways as well 1mon
  •   australi_yan Why the 4 barrel conversion rather then tripple webbers or mikuni? 1mon
  •   luseboy @australi_yan it was cheap and easy to tune, also better throttle response, and more parts availability for the carb 1mon

  •   andy_fairlady 4 wheel drive ? For the zee ? 1mon
  •   stalin85 Try with rb26 gearbox 1mon
  •   luseboy @andy_fairlady haha good idea! The pickup is 4wd though 1mon
  •   luseboy @stalin85 i know it's almost the same transmission but i think the gear ratios and bellhousings are different. The truck has a vg30 1mon

  •   gooseochoa Did you have to do this before the installation? I have never replaced one gunna do the wilwood swap 1mon
  •   luseboy @gooseochoa yes you have to bench bleed first 1mon

luseboy New #spicer halfshaft u joints for my #240z 12mon
  •   spicerparts Austin, there is no doubt we at #SpicerParts love jeeps and other off-road vehicles, but we also have love for cars too. The 240z is a fantastic automobile! Thanks for supporting the brand, good luck with the project. 12mon
  •   luseboy @spicerparts thank you for the comment! I chose spicer because everyone says that you make the best u joints. Time will tell but they seem to be of very nice quality. 12mon

  •   ki6bnp Now this is definitely some steering bullshit 12mon
  •   luseboy @ki6bnp haha maybe if you steer with your right foot 12mon
  •   ki6bnp Lol that looks exactly like my swaybar on the front axle of my jeep 12mon
  •   luseboy @ki6bnp its that thick? I'd think you'd want a pretty flexible sway bar for 4 wheeling? 12mon
  •   ki6bnp When I 4 wheel I just take my swaybar off haha 12mon
  •   ki6bnp Helps the axle flex 12mon
  •   luseboy @ki6bnp haha makes sense, can't you get end links that are quick release? 12mon

luseboy One of my half shafts had bad u joints. They didn't have play, the grease was just 40 years old and was more like cement so they were really stuck. Fought with them for a bit and then gave the airhammer a shot and there you have it. #240z #s30 #garagebuild 12mon
  •   ptero I just gave mine to a machine shop to do. Noooo thanks on doing it myself, lol. 12mon
  •   luseboy @ptero they're actually not bad to remove. These are original to the car and i don't think they've been re greased once in the last 40 years, and they weren't THAT bad. The air hammer really made quick work of it. 12mon
  •   zcardude I might have to do mine I had some vibes coming from the rear last time i drove it 12mon
  •   luseboy @zcardude its way easier than it looks. You can check them without taking anything apart. I'd try taking them off and pumping some grease in them first. 12mon
  •   zcardude I have all 4 control arms and struts off the car any way finishing up poly bushings and coilovers painting every thing as I go 12mon
  •   luseboy @zcardude Might as well do it if they're bad. Rock auto sells the spicer/dana u joints that everyone reccomends, they're like 30 bucks a piece though (need 4 per car) 12mon
  •   zcardude I want to go lsd and cv joints eventually 12mon
  •   luseboy @zcardude might as well leave them in that case. One thing to consider with cv's is clearance with the rear sway bar but it can be worked around. 12mon

luseboy Test fitting my #silverminemotors stage 4 rear brake kit. I normally hate red calipers but these are so nicely painted that i'm gonna leave them red. #240z #s30 12mon
