lukekingma It's far too easy to forget Earth Day in the thick of New York City, so I am transporting myself back to Mount Bromo. Now this is a fine piece of planet. Don't take it for granted, people. #earthday 1mon

lukekingma Throwback to Death Valley National Park, where all the pavement is a parking lot and every mile is a @MINI Cooper ad. Missing the road today. 2mon

lukekingma Brooklyn's always a little moody, but today is something else. Must be going through some kind of phase. 2mon

lukekingma This is Lehigh Valley 79—one of the last surviving wooden railroad barges in the United States. It was bought for $1 by a former cruise ship juggler, who has been living below deck with his family for 20 years now. That's 5 cents a year in rent—or 0.4 cents a month. Now I know why people move to Red Hook. 2mon

lukekingma Below ground, a $4 billion dollar transportation hub. Above it, a $4 billion dollar emblem of reclamation. Slowly but surely, New York is beginning to look like a 21st century supercity. Watch your back, Dubai! 2mon

lukekingma I realize I'm several weeks late to the "Instagram World Trade Center Station" party, but I'm willing to bet there are still likes to be given. That said, feel free to call me on it. 2mon

lukekingma There aren't many places in Southern California that transport you out of Southern California—except for the Korean Friendship Bell. Pair it with a trek into the infamous sunken city, and it's worth the trip to San Pedro. Just don't get arrested. 2mon

lukekingma In Indonesia, you quietly anticipate the day when the bottle of petrol you buy for your motorbike is actually just bottom shelf chardonnay. And you always pack a glass, just in case. As an aside, I am missing this country so much today—who wants to go? 2mon

lukekingma This photo is a product of one of my favorite roadtrip pastimes. It goes something like this:

1) See cool thing off interstate.
2) Take next exit.
3) Find cool thing.

Thanks for playing, Wyoming!

lukekingma Even interstates have their moments. Turned a corner on I-80 East out of Salt Lake City, and then—this. It's all downhill from here, I'm afraid. 3mon

lukekingma I try to keep politics off Instagram, but I just spent the morning at Mount Rushmore and Donald Trump now has 1/3 of the delegates needed to win the republican nomination. So, I would pose this question: do you really think he'd fit in up here?

lukekingma If this were The Oregon Trail, I'd have about 300 more pounds of meat than I could carry back to my wagon. Fortunately it's not, so this guy can just keep munching on delicious South Dakota grassland in peace. I think I've found America. 3mon

lukekingma One more of Salt Lake City before I go! We really should have built more cities at the bases of mountains. 3mon

lukekingma I've gotta say, Temple Square in Salt Lake City is pretty mesmerizing. If I didn't need to be 700 miles away later tonight, I'd probably stick around for more than one Instagram photo. But alas. 📸 3mon

lukekingma If you've never visited the Bonneville Salt Flats during the rainy season, work it into your bucket list. The whole region is covered in miles of warm salt water just a few inches deep. Great for photographs. Great for photographs of photographers taking photographs. 3mon
  •   audratuss Beautiful!! Is this what it's like right now? I'm shooting some engagements in a couple weeks 3mon
  •   lukekingma @audratuss unfortunately not! This is from September. I believe it's dry now 3mon
  •   audratuss Ok thanks for getting back to me. This is an incredible shot! The people I'm doing engagements for wouldn't want water, so the drier the better 😀 3mon

lukekingma I rarely post photos of myself, let alone VIDEO, but I skied for the first time in my life today and didn't break anything at all. So here I am. Why did I wait 28 years to try this? ⛷

lukekingma Cut through a nondescript alley in Venice, and ran into a postcard. Anyone know how I can get in touch with the postcard people?

lukekingma Option 1: Stay home and watch America hand itself to Donald Trump on a gold sharpie-scrawled platter.

Option 2: Head to Point Mugu and catch a sunset that a thousand generations of Donald Trumps couldn't take away from us. (I hope.)

lukekingma This is Badwater Basin, a stretch of Death Valley that rests 282 ft (86 m) below sea level—making it the lowest elevation in North America. Behind the camera is a tiny spring-fed pool of water that is saturated with salt. As you may guess, it is not good to drink, because it is bad water. Badwater Basin.
