lindsaywho So much fun today! I was told at the finish that the mileage was 30 miles, but everyone's GPS watch seemed to be a little different (I'm going with 30 because it feels awesome and my longest distance so far!). One of the best long runs I've had, I felt great pretty much the entire time. We paced with some veteran ultra runners for the first half, nice and easy, which had me feeling super fresh the last half. 50 miles in a little less than a month, and this super boosted my confidence. 5d

lindsaywho Good customer service makes me smile - handwritten notes and extra goodies, thanks for the smile @tailwindnutrition. Just in time for tomorrow. No better way to try something new than to take it for a 27 mile run through the woods, right? I can't see how anything could go wrong. I'm really sick of fueling with gels so I can't wait to see how this stuff works! 6d
  •   itsjustyu Ooh let me know! I use baby food but this sounds good 6d
  •   benmatlock9 @lindsaywho a bunch of us in virginia beach swear by this stuff. Tailwind is an awesome product. 6d
  •   jaayers1 I know of some amazing endurance fuels if you ever want to try something new!!! Have fun with that 27 miles :) 6d
  •   paulblankman Hope it lives up to my promises! 6d
  •   tailwindnutrition Let me know if you have any questions after trying it out! Happy running... 6d
  •   lindsaywho @itsjustyu LOVED this stuff. This is pretty much all I had for 6.5 hours, with the exception of a couple bites of banana and some pretzels. No stomach upset, felt great. I'm into it! 5d
  •   lindsaywho @tailwindnutrition LOVED it!!! 5d
  •   itsjustyu Ahhhhhh glad to hear it! I will def have to look into @tailwindnutrition for my next ultra! 5d

lindsaywho Another from the descent of Mt. Moosilauke this weekend. I'm trying to force myself into a little taper mode this week for the marathon Saturday but it's tough... 4am run this morning (I'm an early bird, those quiet, super early runs are my favorite) with no tech just to make myself really focus on going slow... which wasn't an issue since my body was yelling "why are you running right now" repeatedly. So, this "rest week" is off to a good start 1w
  •   vegancookiemonster 4 am? Ugh, it was 100% humidity at 4 am. Gnarly. 1w
  •   lindsaywho @vegancookiemonster it was 70's and raining, my favorite running weather! Although around 5am it stopped raining and started to feel kind of swampy. 1w
  •   vegancookiemonster Ok, it wasn't raining down here, just nasty humid. Waiting for it to get misty before I head out. 1w
  •   veganhikers Oh I'd love to run that early too but it's too dark for me and I'm not a fan of running with a head lamp 1w
  •   lindsaywho @veganhikers the headlamp is a little annoying! I've finally found some comfortable ones, though. There aren't street lights on some of the backroads I run on and I'm sure I get some speed work in whenever I hear something in the woods in the dark 1w
  •   egnavarre I treasure my early morning runs also! Nice pic! Good luck on your marathon this weekend @lindsaywho! 1w
  •   lindsaywho @egnavarre thanks Erika! I'm using it as a "training run" for my August race so I'm hoping to just have fun with it! 1w
  •   veganhikers Omg yes I would totally be running faster too! I live in the woods so def no lights but worse would be how all the damn bugs are attracted to the light 1w

lindsaywho A little #upness for the day on Moosilauke! No visibility at the top, but a real fun climb. 2w
  •   carriecarb Sorry to hear you had no view. This is definitely in my top 5 for the view!! 2w
  •   lindsaywho @carriecarb no view when I climbed it last year either... I guess I should start checking the weather! 2w
  •   carriecarb Someday you'll get it! But heck, we are really in it for the exercise right? 2w
  •   bekahstendahl Might not have has a view but you look pretty #badass in that weather. 2w
  •   frybowrunner Cool! Literally! 2w
  •   mr_robot Freaking cool! 2w

lindsaywho Bought some new trail kicks and took them for a spin at Hale Reservation. No falling. Sold! Taking it easy this week so I'll be fresh for the Bear Brook Marathon next weekend. I know @sarahcpierce and @skottdaltonic will be there... give me a shout if anyone else will be there too! 2w
  •   lindsaywho Also, this deer had zero stranger danger whatsoever. Hung around us like it was nothing. 2w
  •   jessrunshappy Haha that's how the deer at my local trail act! I'm used to them being so skittish, but they just hang out and munch on leaves and stare at you 2w
  •   bekahstendahl What'd you get? 2w
  •   lindsaywho @bekahstendahl Brooks Cascade. I tried some Salamon on but they didn't fit my foot right. I like these a lot! Well, as much as you can like a pair of shoes after one run. 2w
  •   paulblankman I dig my Cascadias. A great all around shoe, just a little slick on wet granite. 2w
  •   lindsaywho @paulblankman guess I don't even know what my own shoe is called, haha. As long as they keep me from tripping over my toes, I'm happy with them! 2w

lindsaywho Second run date with the GoPro and I gotta say, things are going pretty well. Accidentally took 180 pictures of my puzzled face staring blankly at the thing trying to figure out the settings while it was stuck in some sort of crazy mode... but that sums up pretty much every other relationship I've been in. 2w

lindsaywho Finally took the go-pro out for a spin today. There's definitely a learning curve and I'm at the kindergarten level of it, but it's tons of fun! 2w
  •   theflynch Teach me how to save the pictures/videos on my phone! 2w
  •   bekahstendahl You did great. 2w
  •   lindsaywho @theflynch download the gopro app and hook it up to the wireless on your gopro! 2w
  •   lindsaywho @bekahstendahl soooo many came out blurry though, I feel like I was doing something wrong! 2w
  •   bekahstendahl They don't work well in low light so you'll get blurrier ones then for sure. And make sure you clean off the plastic over the lens so it isn't smudgey! :) 2w
  •   theflynch I did, I can turn the GoPro on and off with my phone but it won't save the video... More research I know... 2w
  •   lindsaywho @theflynch honestly I wouldn't have known how to do it if someone hadn't already set the wifi up for me! Technologically challenged. 2w
  •   lindsayumlahrhn Super cool! 1w

lindsaywho 20 miles after work today, trying to cram in my long runs when I can. 90's in mostly direct sunlight, ate very little because dehydration and heat made me nauseous, thunderstorms around mile 15 (as is running wasn't excitement enough!), wanted to quit from pretty much 12 on. I swung into a cafe and sat on the floor to regulate my body temp for a minute and, best ever, was offered an ice cold water and a lemon by a server who told me "you look exhausted". So super difficult run, mentally, but I'm pumped that I did it, and powered through it. It's all mind and heart over muscle. Well, heart, and ice cold water with lemon. 2w
  •   lindsaywho @heartnsolerunning the weather part was mostly ignorance, I had no idea there were tornado warnings! I kind of just wing it, 90% of the time 😛 2w
  •   lindsaywho @jenns_healthymakeover thanks, I definitely have to get a handle on electrolyte replenishment and hydration, this weather kills me! 2w
  •   lindsaywho @vo2_max sucky runs are the best once they're over, you mean! Glad that I pushed through though, there are few greater feelings than the accomplishment of toughing through a crappy run. 2w
  •   lindsaywho @itsjustyu I'm trying to get my body acclimated to running in the heat, since this ultra is going to be in swampy August. It's so much harder than cold weather running for me! 2w
  •   bekahstendahl Permanent vacation? Wouldn't that be nice. 2w
  •   itsjustyu I hear ya! That's how my 50k ended up going...so this is helpful, whether you like it or not! 2w
  •   skottdaltonic you're a bad-ass! 2w

lindsaywho Much better! No real pain anymore, just pretty colors. I was totally planning on running this evening until I received threats to have my sneakers hidden from me when I mentioned that I was considering it. But I'm getting so antsy, you guys. Taking a break is torture. 3w
