lenorelocken Toronto history, revealed. For decades, this was a Shoppers Drug Mart (a Canadian chain of drugstores), which recently relocated. When the sign came down, earlier this month I believe, this old Loblaws sign was revealed. Loblaws is a classic Canadian chain of grocery stores; I checked online and this particular Loblaws closed in 1972, after opening back in the 1930s. This is very close to my home and I used to live even closer, just around the corner. This used to be my local drugstore and I never knew the history of the location until yesterday. In true Sign Geek style, I braved the cold and headed out this morning to get my photos before this gets removed (as we all know it will). #signgeeks #signgeekscanada 3d

lenorelocken Chicago--where I can walk only a block or two but it takes forever because I have to stop and constantly take photographs. I so want to go back! 3d

lenorelocken Another ghost sign in Bradford, PA; I believe it reads: Firestone, with "Pur O San" in the yellow oval, then Germicide - Wetting Agent, then Corrosion Inhibitor. But there's a word above Inhibitor, so I think that could be evidence of a different sign. 5d

lenorelocken Well, if I had money, tell you what I'd do. I'd go downtown and buy a Mercury or two. 6d

lenorelocken At the Art Institute of Chicago last summer, there was an outdoor exhibit upstairs, just outside the restaurant, featuring miniature people in various poses. I was amused as this dad got his daughter to copy one of the exhibits and quickly caught this photo. I rarely photograph children that I don't know but couldn't resist this. 7d

lenorelocken On Sunset, in Los Angeles (Echo Park), CA #signgeeks #signgeekstakepomona -- it's not old but I thought this was both an attractive and clever sign for a hair salon 1w

lenorelocken Have you ever been up-close-and-personal to a lion when it has roared? I have...and it scared the heck out of me. This guy was not happy with the delay in getting his hunk of raw meat from this staff member at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center in Indiana and voiced his displeasure. Loudly. Truly awesome and truly frightening. 1w

lenorelocken It may be #tbt today, but for me, it's always "throwback" time. If you follow me, know that I'm unpredictable. And staying that way. 😎 I post photos that are new as well as recent, but also they're often months or even years old. I usually don't bother to mention dates, but if you're curious, just ask. No secrets here. As for this photo, it was taken in March, 2009 -- Sweetwater, TN #signgeeks 1w
