layerxlayer Workshop equivalent of a model train set. Picked up a set of Walker Turner "The Driver Line" tools: 1930's. These were a set of small tools that you set up in your home workshop on a line shaft! For some reason I find this immensely interesting, much to the chagrin of @lealjane. Price was too good to pass up: included was a jointer, tablesaw, shaper, lathe, jigsaw and buffer/grinder and of course the line shaft. There is one video on YouTube of these set up for those interested. A now old-timer bought these 30 years ago from a then old-timer who actually used these in his shop. These deserve a full blog post soon - build quality is excellent and some design choices are quirky but very practical. #walkerturner 1mon
  •   samtam93 Where do you even begin to find these treasures? :) 1mon
  •   layerxlayer @samtam93 By spending most non-work hours searching various sources. It's like hunting for treasure, compelled by the unknown items that I might find. I buy mostly things I need but these were too cool to pass up. 1mon
