lavennzosy This will be my first self-portrait painting but it's not a self-portrait painting. It's interesting to see a different look of me in this ghostly complexion. 2d

lavennzosy Testing my new bought camera's dc coupler dummy battery. Still learning to take video with my canon t3i and having this problem: video capturing stopped at around 11min, no issue with memory size, no error message popped up on screen other than saying stop taking video. Memory card is SanDisk Ultra 80MB/s class10. Anyone know why it stopped? 3d

lavennzosy Drawing stroke by stroke and I never thought I have such patient. The whole process is quite soothing. 1w

lavennzosy This painting was meant for experiment but it became quite personal since my grandma passed away last Saturday while this painting still in progress. I was (am) far away from home. I couldn't attend her funeral but we did said our last goodbye in last December before I returned to US. I know it was the last time I see her because she was very sick; but, I still hurt when my mum told me the bad news. Miss her and dedicate this painting to her, titled 永别 (Part Forever). 2w

lavennzosy Still in progress. I don't always so sure about the title of my wips but this one is an exception. 2w

lavennzosy Skipping pencil drawing, using grid method for the outline/contour measurement and sketch. I'm not painting square by square. Normally I'll do sketch or drawing on paper than transfer onto canvas. 3w

lavennzosy This painting is finally come to the very end, I would say 98% completed, after a week of upset delayed. The canvas was warped and off-square when I sprayed a little water on the canvas back. I was helpless for awhile and reluctantly to re-stretch the canvas because I had never stretch a canvas, i don't know how to do it, I search for alternative solution on the Internet, watched videos on YouTube....and finally I ordered tools, pull out the old staples then stretched and stapled the canvas again. I'm glad i did it. It was easy but I need more strength training on my arm's muscles. Took me hours (with rest in between) to pull off the old staples. 🏻 2mon

lavennzosy First time using Bristol smooth paper. The ultra-smooth surface make pencil rendering so much easier. This is a drawing referring to a beautiful girl named #林小宅 I discovered in Weibo (Chinese social media). I'm adding small strokes of lines in building the form. 2mon

lavennzosy Starting new drawing on new low cost aluminum easel. The last painting's canvas was warped and off-square. I'm waiting for my new stretcher bars delivery. It will be my first attempt to stretch a canvas. That painting probably will be stapled on four sides instead of gallery wrap because the new stretcher bars are thicker. 2mon
