laurenepbath These are the untouched sand dunes of the Al Maha Desert resort and spa. I think we all went a little nuts here, stalking each other through the dunes. The desert in Dubai was much more than I could have expected! @MyDubai #MyDubai 1w

laurenepbath I finally got some more shots edited this afternoon, geez my jet lag has been bad the past few days. You would think that I would get used to it right?! So anyway, these are flamingo's because everybody knows there are wild flamingos in Dubai. Right? @MyDubai #MyDubai 1w

laurenepbath This man ! Probably the most graceful man I've ever seen. We made him jump, leap and prance through the desert for half an hour. So worth it! Thanks @maximecoquard ! @MyDubai #MyDubai 2w

laurenepbath Good morning! Here's an unusual post for me as I get philosophical... One of the things I have always loved about Instagram is that it breaks down barriers. A lot of people are scared of the Middle East and don't know enough about other religions and cultures to better understand them. In Dubai my group had the pleasure of learning more about local dress and customs and a lot was surprising information. For example I didn't know that the white "dishdash" that men wear was designed for the desert and the head piece protects against sand storms. The women's "abaya" was always worn for modesty and face coverings had the purpose of protection against the weather and desert. Several members of our group even purchased traditional clothes at the textile souk and tried them on for size. If anyone has questions about Dubai I'd love to answer them, nothing is too stupid. Lol. @MyDubai #MyDubai 2w
  •   mur_ro You're a sensational photographer! 1w
  •   romeo940 Amazing 1w
  •   hamsa_f @bre.martin lol u obviously have the misconception here.. What you are talking about in ksa is the abaya not the face cover! And they are not arrested! U obviously havent been to ksa. Why do people love to dramatize everything. :/ 1w
  •   yara_aldabbagh @bre.martin what movie/ news channel have you been watching?! Killed for showing her face? Seriously?! I'm a full fledged Saudi and I've never covered my face, my abayas are not even black. 4d
  •   yara_aldabbagh @bre.martin and there is no law that can get you arrested for showing your face either. There are 4 main scholars in Islam, some are more strict than the others. Many people in Saudi Arabia follow the strictest one, which dictates covering the face, , but don't enforce it on the whole nation. 4d
  •   dcwade Nice!! 3d
  •   michaela_sun Lovely pic as usual........always wonderful to meet people from different cultures. Growing up in NZ as a child i have fond memories of the nuns in their habits. That was not that long ago (70's). The Flying Nun was a much loved TV show - head covering and all😀 3d
  •   enchiladajo I'm learning so much thru these posts and you're right, not everyone takes the time to understand different cultures and come to their own conclusions. Thanks for sharpen Lauren 1d

laurenepbath Wow! The jet lag kicks in! Asleep at 6pm and wide awake at midnight, haha. So I'm kicking it old skool by hanging out on Instagram for a bit. I'm not sure if anyone will like this, glamorous girl leaping through the desert at sunrise with a flowing piece of cloth. Lol. I really recommend spending time in the desert if you go to Dubai - we even saw a MASSIVE camel spider pre sunrise and it burrowed into the sand. . @MyDubai #MyDubai 2w

laurenepbath You ask - I deliver! Here's a shot of me looking fancy at the Burj Al Arab! As you can imagine I usually look like a huge dag, dressed for the comfort of shooting. It's nice sometimes to get dressed up, especially for such a beautiful place! We were hosted in a suite with white gloved butlers, French champagne and delicious canapés. The Burj Al Arab is the only 7 star hotel in the whole world!! Pictured with some of my very besties with photo taken by the extremely talented @maximecoquard . @MyDubai #MyDubai 2w

laurenepbath Good morning from my last morning in Dubai!! I can't even begin to tell you what's happened in the past 24 hours, hint - it involved the Burj Al Arab! I'm flying out this morning but I think you've yet to see my best shots, I'll be doing some editing on the plane and sharing from Oz. This morning I'm squeezing in one more cool thing - a live interview on Virgin radio with @krisfade , tune in after 6:45 if you're in Dubai. @MyDubai #MyDubai 2w

laurenepbath One thing that I love about the sunrises and sunsets here is that the sun looks so damn amazing! It comes up in a giant, red, layered orb! I've got so so so many photos from this trip, it will be a big editing session tomorrow. Goodnight. @MyDubai #MyDubai 2w

laurenepbath This is the view from the front of my resort, the Madinat Jumeirah. We face the Burj Al Arab on one side and older Dubai on the other. Most people don't expect to see ocean and surf in the desert but the waves actually get quite big! @MyDubai #MyDubai 2w

laurenepbath With any destination that I go to I always try my best to capture a variety of shots - not just the landscapes but the people, animals and moments of the trip. I know that portraiture doesn't attract as much attention on Instagram but I think the locals deserve to be captured. Traveling to an Arab country with all the terrible news in the media has attracted some concern from people back home. Having now been here for a week I can say that Dubai is one of the safest places I've visited and the locals are more than accepting and hospitable to visitors. I hope that more people break out of their comfort zone and consider destinations like this because they are wonderful! @MyDubai #MyDubai 2w
  •   almulla_art 2w

I say that and most my shit now is landscapes but when I lived abroad candid portraiture were my fave shots to get =) well done on this...you capture the essence of the soul in your subject's eyes impeccably! 2w

laurenepbath Is this the cutest thing you have ever seen? This is a desert fox and we met him yesterday as a part of our "My Dubai" day. We had an opportunity to meet a group of local instagrammers and learn more about Dubai from a locals perspective. Believe it or not @salgeziry has many amazing animals at his house and he practices falconry and raises wolf dogs! I love the relationship that the locals have with traditional animals here. @MyDubai #MyDubai 2w
