laurenepbath So I have one final thank you from my recent trip to The United States and Canada and that's @AmericanAir . Through their relationship with Qantas and Helloworld I was upgraded to business class for my Los Angeles - Sydney return flight and I am eternally grateful! In all my life I've only flown business class a handful of times and it's still a massive novelty! I keep my pajamas as a souvenir and hate using anything in my amenities kit. Lol. This was the breakfast service after a very civilized 8 hours sleep. #AmericanAir 2d
  •   lizwarkentin Wow! I love Business class. I've only had the opportunity four times in my life. The most recent was when I got upgraded on Air Canada from Zurich to Montreal. It must have been fabulous to be able to get 8 hours of sleep on a flight to Australia! 24h

laurenepbath So those are my adventures in Alberta at an end for the year. Fingers crossed I continue my winter exploring’s in 2017. A big shout out to everyone who made this trip possible, it might have only been 3 days but it sure was FUN! @explorecanada @travelalberta @banff_lakelouise @skibig3 @mtnorquay @sunshinevillage @skilouise @fairmontcll @whatiseephoto and @banffairporter for getting me back to the airport safely. Special mention to red jacket lady (pictured) for staying dead still for 30 seconds, thanks red jacket lady. #explorealberta 2d

laurenepbath This is a BABY mountain sheep! I’ve never seen one before and she was so so cute! A whole herd of these guys were licking the salt off some guys SUV at Lake Minnewanka and it was the funniest thing ever. The entire car was covered in random lick marks when he finally came back, if the sheep had already left he wouldn’t have known what happened! Lol. @banff_lakelouise #banfflakelouise 2d

laurenepbath This natural phenomenon is known as a 22° halo and I was lucky enough to catch it over Lake Louise! At this time of day the exposure is pretty tricky but I was shooting on my Nikon D810 so I exposed for the sky and lifted the shadows in Photoshop. It was so beautiful! @fairmontcll #lakelouise 3d

laurenepbath Amongst the most random sights I’ve seen in my life is this cat on a frozen lake. Her owner June thought she would like an adventure and was towing her on a sled with ice skates. Her name is Yammers. She did NOT love it. Lmao. @banff_lakelouise #banfflakelouise 3d

laurenepbath Who is this fetching fellow in the red Canadian goose jacket with fur trim? Why it’s none other than my Fairmont friend James, @jamesgfraser ! Thanks to James we had access to a secret shooting spot at the Fairmont and we actually caught a 22° halo around the sun, can you see it? @fairmontcll #lakelouise 3d
  •   golightly Positively beautiful peaks. 3d
  •   alittlebitofblush They trap and kill coyotes for the fur trim. It's really awful. Just thought I'd let you know. Fur in general is just so unnecessary in any modern society with so many faux options that actually work better to keep you warm. You might want to check out @furbearers - fantastic Canadian organization working to protect wildlife often exploited for their fur or deems 'pests' by the government including beavers, coyotes and wolves. The more you know hey! 3d
  •   shineonyoucraydiamond Looove that pop of red!!! 3d
  •   golden_heart 🏼🏼fantastic 3d
  •   katwesterman Wonderful shot. Love the pop of red of the jacket 3d
  •   itandem @laurenepbath Hi Lauren! good morning! your profile is full of amazing pictures! I would travel all around the world with your pictures just watching them! Would you like to share your travel experiences with our community too? I'd be very glad of it! Thanks and see you on #iTandem! :) 3d
  •   dinelivetravel Love the red on white 3d
  •   mckechnie_images Heading there for our honeymoon in August. Would love to learn more about this secret spot! 1d

laurenepbath Okay, this is where I’m going to give a little shout out to my new Canadian friend @whatiseephoto . Michelle and I have followed each other on Instagram for around a year and she actually flew over to Vancouver to spend a few days with me in Banff and check out the scenery. What a riot! Firstly, she was trusting me to tell her what parts of the lake were safe to walk on and when we saw these guys I knowledgeably shared that they are mountain sheep. I think I should be made an honorary Canadian! @banff_lakelouise #banfflakelouise 4d

laurenepbath Omg, I think this is actually my favourite photo from my brief spell in Alberta, an ice skater on Lake Minnewanka! It’s actually pretty rare to have so much exposed ice on this particular lake and quite a few locals were taking advantage of it with impromptu skate offs and mini hockey games. I couldn't believe how great this guy looked against the mountain and asked for some shots. His name is Royce, I wonder if he’s on Instagram? This one is for you @travelalberta #explorealberta 4d

laurenepbath This morning was actually a bit hilarious! Michelle and I were rushing to Lake Louise in the morning after a little sleep in, that may or may not have had anything to do with 27 ounces of wine the night before, when we witnessed the best sunrise EVER. Unfortunately said sunrise was occurring in our rear vision mirror as we darted down the highway. Oh life. Lol. Luckily the light was still very soft and beautiful by the time we arrived at Lake Louise. @banff_lakelouise #banfflakelouise 4d

laurenepbath This photo is the definition of why I love skiing at Sunshine Village. I was here on a Saturday and people were literally parking 7km away from the main lodge, it was PACKED! Yet with so much terrain it never seems packed and there are lots of places to explore with not another soul in sight! Oh, and did I mention the HEATED CHAIR LIFT??!! I actually took a selfie in it but thought better of sharing. Lol. @sunshinevillage #sunshinevillage 4d

laurenepbath I think I’ve shot at Lake Louise more than half a dozen times in the last three years but I can’t imagine ever getting sick of it. It’s also so different from Fall to Winter, I’ve yet to visit in Spring or Summer. This is a selfie achieved with a wireless remote control and a bit of running back and forth. I’m almost too old for this selfie business, I need a full time model to travel with me. Lol. @banff_lakelouise #banfflakelouise 5d

laurenepbath Here I am at Lake Louise in a very special and secret spot! After a morning exploring the ski resort we headed down for some shooting and a decadent snack in the incredible Fairmont Lake Louise. I have been here so many times but still haven’t had a chance for an overnighter. Next time I come to Alberta I am so staying at the Fairmont. Right @jamesgfraser ? @fairmontcll #lakelouise 5d

laurenepbath More Norquay action! After I was done skiing some of the groomed runs at Norquay I kicked off my skis and went for a walk, and some tubing. Haha. The North American Chairlift is open to foot traffic and takes you all the way to the Cliffhouse Bistro for amazing views over Banff and great food. Although the views weren’t visible during my visit the mountain was welcoming the snow! Another interesting fact? Norquay has just opened an incredible experience called “Via Ferrata”, an assisted climbing tour that I am dying to get back and try! @mtnorquay #mightyquay 5d

laurenepbath OMG! I had to share this! Firstly I want to know if anyone knows who this man is? By all accounts he seems like an institution in Banff and I met him down at Vermillion Lakes and chatted for ages. This is his adorable 12-week-old American Staffy pup “Tulsa” who absolutely melted my heart. She’s wearing a little jumper you guys! Arghhhhhh! @banff_lakelouise #banfflakelouise 5d

laurenepbath I really wanted to share a photo of the tubing at Norquay but we had such overcast weather that day and this Lake Louise shot just looks better. Tubing is just one of the activities on offer for non-skiers (and non-snowboarders) at Lake Louise. You can hike, snowshoe, eat or just curl up in the lodge and watch the action outside. And the answer is yes … when it comes to tubing I AM a squealer! Lol. @skilouise #justlakeit 6d

laurenepbath I don’t know how many of you remember my shots of this place from last year but this is Lake Minnewanka, another absolutely incredible spot just 15 minutes from downtown Banff. We hit this spot up on my last afternoon in Banff and it was perfect, Alberta always is. The whole lake is frozen so we wandered around all over and met some interesting characters. Hehe. @banff_lakelouise #banfflakelouise 6d
  •   wendy_jagger Yes @laurenepbath , lived in #Kandersteg CH - 3 yrs and in 13/14 did 3 month 'Skifari' of EU. Lots of fun! 5d
  •   laurenepbath @wendy_jagger oh I meant this season. Lol. And I think you did but I can't think where. 5d
  •   laurenepbath @snowsearch_aus that sounds fantastic! I love our Aussie ski resorts and I've already got confirmed work in Buller this coming season :) 5d
  •   laurenepbath @whatiseephoto of the cat? 5d
  •   whatiseephoto Yes, the cat, the cute couple...that I didn't know if it was a baby, puppy or cat I have the memories, but no photo proof 5d
  •   snowsearch_aus It's so nice to hear that we share the same love for the Australian Snowfields. We're excited to see what magic photography you produce whilst at Buller Best case scenario for us this year is that we get to drop into all the resorts, worst case scenario is that we don't see any but make it possible for thousands to make it a reality, win win either way 5d
  •   poeticwordvomit Wow. The scale is incredible. 3d

laurenepbath Here’s another shot from Vermillion Lakes. This place is literally 5 minutes from downtown Banff and I was very lucky to have my insta-pal @whatiseephoto with me to go out shooting with. Michelle and I hit this spot on two out of three mornings and the cracking sunrise was the day we missed. Lol. @banff_lakelouise #banfflakelouise 6d

laurenepbath I skied at Lake Louise on my second day in Alberta and I decided that I would rest my injured calf and try out some of the activities on offer for “non-skiers”. For those that are wondering my injury from Cali is healing nicely, I have just been careful with it. Lake Louise was the perfect resort to visit as a foot passenger as there is lot’s to see and do and seriously breathtaking views. My host Emerson took my to the top of the Gondola for a short hike and then we hit the tubing, tubing twice in two days was just a bit fun. Haha. This is Kuma Yama, the new sushi restaurant and it IS as good as it looks! @skilouise #justlakeit 6d

laurenepbath This is my ski face! Haha. Despite my injury in California a week ago I felt like I was ready to have a “crack” at Mt Norquay, the closest ski resort to Banff and a great property! The best thing about the Big 3 alliance is that you can purchase a lift pass that covers you for all three resorts and you can pick and choose where you go based on conditions. Norquay is a smaller resort but it boasts the best tubing I’ve ever done, fun groomed runs perfect for my ability and, I’m not even kidding, the best salad I’ve ever eaten in my life at the Lone Pine Lodge. It was a tex-mex style thing and it was seriously delicious. (and big!) @mtnorquay #mightyquay 7d

laurenepbath During my Banff/ Lake Louise mini trip I visited all three ski hills, the Big 3, and found a lot to love at each of them. This is Sunshine Village, which is pretty much known for it’s powder and massive terrain. Three mountains, over 120 runs and room to move even on a busy Saturday. I asked my lovely host Sinead if she could ski past me and flick up some snow but even I wasn’t expecting this. Check out the cheeky grin! Lol. @sunshinevillage #sunshinevillage 1w
