latelylily Another great spot around Chicago for kids is The Kohl Children's Museum - Also northwest of the city in Glenview. This is my kiddos' favorite place to go. They have tons of interactive exhibits, it's so well done and they have a blast every time. Their favorite part is the mini grocery store, where they get to fill their carts, and even be the cashier and bagger. There's also a mini Potbelly Sandwich shop, so adorable! Try to get there right when they open to have the run of the place before it gets too crowded. ️Danielle #lilynodtober @thelandofnod 7d

latelylily My daughter, Lottie, and I love a good "project." She's 4 and an incredible artist. I love making things with her and seeing how she has no rules in creating, she just does what feels right to her. Lots of cutting, gluing, collaging and we go through TONS of washi tape. It's her current obsession. ️ Danielle #lilynodtober @thelandofnod 7d

latelylily One of my favorite kids spots around Chicago is the Choo Choo Restaurant - This is just northwest of the city in Des Plaines. It's been around since the 50s. You sit at a counter and your food is delivered on a toy train. Not only do the kids love it, the food is homemade and delicious. I recommend the patty melt and a strawberry shake. Be prepared to wait for a seat, and it's cash only. ️Danielle @thelandofnod #lilynodtober 1w

  •   bemma14 Gum for chewing so your ears don't bother you and a maxi skirt so you are fashionable, warm and comfy on the plane. 1w
  •   saje__ Traveling with a toddler girl made easy for this mommy was; comfy clothes ( even though I technically planned our outfits a few days before just because you're traveling comfy doesn't mean you can't be fashionable) her organic tote was packed with reading material ( princess and Barbie of course!) 5 books in total. 5 soft dollies and 2 barbies. Crayons and 2 colouring books with a set of blank pages, for her to document her feelings and imagination while flying. Although with the comfy clothes on and the tote packed the trick that made flying with her the easiest was the communication we had beforehand about airplanes and the exciting adventure that she was going on, but not only that I found that because I was calm and prepared she fed off my energy. That's how flying for this mom was made easy. @latelylily 1w
  •   dancegurl No make up on face, a new crisp magazine and comfortable sweater. Oh, and pretend the security line is for your favorite disneyland ride. 1w
  •   asdrexler Let my son carry a backpack with just his essentials in it- two small toys, snacks, book, coloring stuff. 1w
  •   verycaroline Saline mist nasal spray. You'll feel better and less chance of catching a cold. 1w
  •   eyesofmad Lollipops for in flight. If your kids are fussy or someone else's kids are fussy, hand them a lollipop and all will be well. (Plus they help little ones ears adjust to the pressurization.) 1w
  •   lyss216 Pack extra underwear just in case!! Also a couple new movies & their lovies. Great snacks to take are the squeezable fruit & veggie pouches so they're still getting a nutritious snack on the go! 1w
  •   shannonaheath iPad, books, coloring books, and favorite snacks 1w

latelylily My recommendation for a must-stop for a kid’s trip to Chicago has to be Heritage Littles! It’s a super awesome kids bike shop owned by the nicest of people, and there is also a milk and cookies bar. That’s right…a Milk and Cookies BAR! (It’s also this 35 year olds dream come true!) #heritagelittles ️ Laurie 2w
